Story fo the phantom Airpod Max: I ordered mine on launch day in Canada with a delivery date for Dec 16. On Dec 14 I got a message they had been shipped and when I checked the tracking it said the delivery was "Returned to Sender". I checked it again today and it says my Dec 16 AirPods were "Delivered" but that I now had a "Replacement" pair of AirPods scheduled to be delivered for March 17!! So sad I'm gonna have to cancel this order.

Just picked up mine at the Apple Store earlier today. So far I do have to say that the sound quality is just great. Not a huge fan of that case but it's going to stay at home most of the time. I'll just use my AirPods Pro when I go out and about but when I'm at home, I'll use the AirPods max.
I just ordered a green pair with an engraving to match my green iPhone 12. Delivery window between 3/24 and 4/7 and shipping to Canada. Not in a rush to get them so I’m willing to endure the long wait. Also had a couple of Apple gift cards to use which allowed me to save about 30% off the original price.
I wonder if I got your pair. I’m not sure if you saw my previous post but I was sent two pair. When I spoke with a rep, the second pair was supposed to go several states away from me based upon the serial number. Today, they made me an offer that I couldn’t turn down on the second pair so I kept them. They said they would send a replacement out to the person that didn’t receive theirs. They shipped from Lebanon, TN.
update for anyone who ordered on target, i got shipping date at the end of dec... ordered on release date pre-order, the release date was pushed back to dec 23 for whatever reason...
Nothing much going on with my order - it's still 12/23 - but I wanted to respond to this to say that I 100% agree with this sentiment. Creating a label does not make an order 'shipped'. It's the worst exaggeration of order status.
Same as the others, Best Buy created a USPS label on Wednesday (the first time I've EVER had anything ship from Best Buy via USPS) and it's still just sitting somewhere waiting for pickup/dropoff...assuming they even have them to ship and aren't just preemptively creating labels.

This is exactly my thought. Like is a label even slapped onto a box with the AirPods in them? Or did they just print labels so they could say they were shipped?
I am from Austria and I initially ordered shortly after announcement from Apple Germany (due to being cheaper than in Austria), but then I cancelled as I saw a 5% discount from an Apple Premium Reseller. Yesterday I got an email from the reseller informing me that they did not receive anything from Apple and Apple is not communicating with their resellers when they can expect a shipment. I am curious when I will receive the headphones. The wait is not really a problem for me because the primary use cases are usage in the office and while traveling.

They keep saying via live chat, "Your order is in transit and will arrive before 12/24". I keep telling them that its not in transit and only a label has been created. They keep saying before 12/24... kinda disappointing lol
how have stocks been in stores? Are store receiving them daily? When I check my local stores they seem to be out. I managed to snag a pair on Tuesday but haven't seen anything since then.
For me I would see one or two pop up in stores in my general area and then sell out within 3-5 minutes of me spotting it.
I managed to grab a space gray which immediately caused it to sell out the store again. Curious if it is from someone cancelling or the store just got one delivered. I am going to keep on checking to see if one pops up in a store closer to me, but been hard to come by.
That’s good to know as I’m in the uk. I hope the time reduces abit more then I may well pull the trigger.
I've read news articles about USPS having huge delays right now and they're delaying picking up shipments from retailers, I'm assuming this is what's happening for those who have "pre-shipment" status. It's really unfortunate. Mine has some movement and it says in-transit, arriving on time for delivery tomorrow but I'm honestly not holding my breath. We'd be lucky to get it before Christmas.
I still have no clue what’s going on with my AT&T order. Literally zero movement. Guess that’s the reason why I hate that company.
