Yep, all of my USPS packages are delayed with no info besides "arriving late", it's been sitting like this for a couple of days. UPS and Fedex are refusing to accept more packages from retailers due to the holiday shipping surge so they're pushing everything to USPS furthering their load. My Best Buy packages have been exclusively UPS for the past 6 months until my Airpods Max order.
Managed to pickup a pair of these in the apple store here in london. loving them so far.
I ordered mine yesterday and got a mid March estimated delivery date. Today I discovered that if I order now the delivery date is mid February — but my shipping date has t changed! What’s happening?
Yeah it’s a pain not sure when there is going to be more availability in the uk.
I have a buddy who is a usps mail carrier who has told me details about the mail pileups this past summer. This was when dejoy was pulling sorting machines and cutting overtime.
My pal described these vast volumes of mail that were sitting around or left over night that normally would never have been allowed to happen.
It was lucky, I suppose, that this was caught when it was because there was time to at least stop it from getting worse.
However, the episode undermined my faith in USPS to have the leadership that can enable it to do what it will say it is going to do.
Whereas UPS has not had to deal with mixed signals on its resources from executives and actually has deliver to protect its brand and compete to keep me from going to fedex.
It seems only Space Grey and Silver ship earlier now while the others remain at a later date. I ordered Space Grey and my delivery moved up by 4 weeks today to mid February. Driven by demand vs their already set production quantities, I presume. I still hope to fetch one earlier than that from an Apple Store, if and when they get new inventory in.
The Gray and Silver Apple AirPods Max were available on launch day, December 15, 2020 in all New York City area Apple Stores for a hour or two before selling out. I did not notice any available at the NYC stores since.

My Best Buy order had that Usps label created and still they have not received the order to be shipped; pretty sure Best Buy created this labels just so they could charge everyone’s cards at this point. If this doesn’t have any changes by Tuesday I’m probably going to call and get them to cancel. I haven’t had a single chance to cancel it through their website since Tuesday when it said it allegedly was shipping before being delayed and the fact that it’s been three days since the label was created makes me feel like they don’t actually have any stock
I think you may need to choose "no engraving" . For some reason Apple forces you to choose engraving/no engraving before it shows add to bag.
So I don’t need to complain; literally minutes ago they suddenly got everything in order and I’m expected to get them the 22ND so here’s to hoping they arrive around then!
