I haven’t used Crutchfield for a long time as I left the U.K. 13 years ago, but they were fine when I used them.Looks like Crutchfield pulled a Best Buy/T-Mobile move... honestly it is such a poor reflection on these companies.
For those looking to order in the future - it seems Apple, Target and Amazon (at least in the US) are your best bet for actually getting the promised delivery timeframe.
I’m in the same boat except my order was placed on 11th Dec. On the other hand they haven’t taken the money yet so I’m no,worse off than someone ordering today, and as someone said below I expect my (and your) date will, come forward more.Ordered from Apple on Dec 29 - Space Grey.
just got a notification that order delivery window was changed to Feb 15- Feb 22.
Which is also the current shipping time for new orders on Apple.com 🤦🤦
annoying that current shipping times match an order that is over 17 days old...
.
I absolutely could have read it wrong but it seemed people with mid-January delivery dates from Crutchfield were having their order dates pushed back and now are seeing it as out of stock? But I totally could have interpreted that wrong.I haven’t used Crutchfield for a long time as I left the U.K. 13 years ago, but they were fine when I used them.
Is it not possible that what has happened is they have taken enough orders to take up all the stock they expect on 29th Jan? It would be worse if they kept taking orders from people based on stock coming in on that date if they know the entire shipment is pre-sold, so what would you have them do?

What frustrates me is that people ordering way after us have had theirs shipped already - likely in different parts of the world, but Apple has a global supply chain and region should play a minor, not a major part in when orders are fulfilled.
It’s interesting that despite our orders being 6 days apart we’re essentially in the same spot (I’m in Canada so maybe not the exact same line?). Unless the orders for blue were extremely heavy from Dec 8 - Dec 10, I can’t imagine they’ve only produced enough to fill 3 days worth in the last 5 weeks.FWIW, I ordered a pair of blue from the US Apple Store on Dec 17 and they are still listed as arriving Feb 17-Mar 3. Bummer.
It seems like they probably stocked more of the “basic” colors like SG and fewer of the more “unusual” colors like blue, pink, and green. I’m thinking this has been the pattern in the past with other Apple products—shunting the majority of early production to more neutral colors where they can be more certain about demand. Sigh...
Interesting theory. It's weird here in Australia you can get a pair in 3 days from our 2 biggest electrical retailers but a month from Apple. Maybe Apple don't want people buying and returning just to try.
I’ve ordered blue on the 14th. Mine says 7th April. That’s longer than I waited for my car to be built! Fingers crossed it comes sooner. Not sure I’m willing to wait that long TBH.Ordered space grey from apple on the 12th, just had a dispatch email and tracking email saying they are arriving on the 19th, a week is a lot better than the 10th March I was originally quoted.
I’m in the UK.

Depends where you are. Several of us still waiting for SG.I think things will start to catch up now. They’re obviously got on top of the b
space grey and silver so they may be able to ramp up production on the other colours hopefully
yeah and a whole load of youtubers made their businesses out of apple’s return policy.Interesting theory.
I received an email letting me know my new date had moved from shipped by Jan 18th till Jan 29th and I could cancel. When I read the fine print it said that dates the website reflected didn't impact my actual order. The website now says out of stock. I hope that's true and my Sky Blue APM will ship on the 29th. In the US I haven't been able to find them anywhere - include Amazon. I also haven't heard of much movement of the Sky Blue from Apple. I put my pre-order in on December 28th so I hope that means I'm at the top of the pre-order list. <fingers crossed>I absolutely could have read it wrong but it seemed people with mid-January delivery dates from Crutchfield were having their order dates pushed back and now are seeing it as out of stock? ahh I see thank you for clarifying! I hope you get yours soon. Do you have an Apple pre-order on hold too? If not, it might be good to place one just to keep options open in case something goes wrong with your Crutchfield one.I received an email letting me know my new date had moved from shipped by Jan 18th till Jan 29th and I could cancel. Yeah I do not have an Apple one yet because I've had good luck with Crutchfield but since the dates slipped I'm seriously considering it. Every time I check on Apple's site the dates are pushed to March for Sky Blue and no stock at my local store. If Crutchfield moves the dates again I will just suck it up and do that....ahh I see thank you for clarifying! I hope you get yours soon. Do you have an Apple pre-order on hold too?
