Seeing so much movement from SG models continues to keep me hopeful. God, it’s difficult when it feels like you haven’t moved at all. You’d think with so many retailers getting stock that people with Apple orders would cancel and buy from them instead. Thereby moving us up.

I guess it’s great news if you’re a SG fan, but you gotta wonder why there still is so much stock. We need colours!!!

Went to the Apple Store and they had Space Grays...wanted blue and I have one on order at Best Buy. Grabbed the SGs at apple...went to go cancel my order at Best Buy...says it shipped but has a delivery date of March 26...and then another site says Tuesday. I don’t know what to believe. But I’m gonna try these out.

It’s just so weird that there is so much availability of space grey and silver but other colours are very scarce. I don’t know if that’s due to manufacturing issues or just lack of understanding of market demand

I ordered Tuesday this week arrived Friday from Harvey Norman in Australia. SG.
That's a bit closer to me. It's SG I want, but I want to get them from Apple as I want (to be able) to return them as I'm still clinging to some hope I won't like them enough to keep them.

I haven't checked Harvey Norman here in NZ. Noel Leeming said they could get me some by 4th Jan if I'd ordered after Christmas, but the return thing stopped me. Now they are much more cagey about when they will have stock.

Yeah weighed up the no return for change of mind, but figured i could just sell them on ebay for same price, i did their 3 years interest free too.
Really like them, so will be keeping and selling or giving away my beats studio 3.

Have been over there 3 times in last 2 years, our son got married in Auckland last January.

Was able to snag a pair of SG's using the target app on iPhone. Apple Pay made it extremely easy to get through the check out process before someone else purchased the headphones.

PRO TIP: Refresh the Target App on your phone and use apple pay

I'll be coming from Beats Studio 3 as well. I hardly use the Beats because (like a lot of people I guess nowadays) I do a lot of Teams meetings and if the Beats are powered on my Mac defaults to them for the audio. Without Transparency I don't like to use them for talk because I might end up talking too loudly, so I have to take one side off my ear.

I wish Apple would let us be a bit more selective with the auto switching (and get it to work reliably 🙄). I want to use my Beats for music, and only music, and I want to use my AirPods Pro for audiobooks and talk always, and music never.

I guess part of the push to try AirPods Pro is that they will work for talk as well as music - and they'll have the battery life to let me just keep them on all the time. I guess well done Apple for directing me to the premium product because of shortcomings with the lower end ones in that case, but also not a good user experience.

Of course as well as the ability to do that they need to be long term comfortable, and also I hope be a big sound quality bump from the Beats. I think from the reviews I have seen the sound will impress, but the comfort is too personal to confirm without trying them. They should be here in no more than a month...

I haven't been your side of the ditch for a while. We would have been over last year if not for travel restrictions - we might make it this year in that case.

Target has been the savior for us here in the US. I don’t think I could have waited til mid February for my pair.

I don't have to use them for video calls so can't comment on that, but they are excellent for phone calls, best i have used and i have or had, beats, AirPods now and bose QC35 and 700 last few years.
Build quality is like chalk and cheese. All around there is no comparison to the beats.

New orders with Apple for SG, silver, & pink are now down to 4-5 weeks. Blue & Green stay at 8-10 weeks. Not much consolation if you’re in the latter group, but it’s progress nonetheless

I just logged onto the Apple website to see if there has been any movement. My expected delivery date went from February 18th-24th to February 15th-22nd. It’s not much but it’s something.

If you can get lucky enough to buy a pair open box from Amazon, do it. Mine just got here. Not crazy about silver and that white headband, but for $420 I can't complain at all. I really wanted blue, but the long delays and this price made my mind up for me. It looks like someone opened the box, looked them over and put them back. Even the smart case was still wrapped in paper.

Crutchfield order status now showing out of stock instead of expected January 29th. Wonder what that means for placed orders 😩.

The email they sent said if they can't ship by the 29th they have to cancel the orders.
Yes, mine stated the same, but also had the option to keep the pre-order indefinitely. I could either cancel the order or keep it open. If they did not hear back from me, the order would automatically cancel if it does not ship by the 29th of January.

It’s very weird. It seems to match the availability of iPad Airs in those colors too, so it may very well be something to do with the materials.

Makes sense, clearly I didn't read the email.

Looks like Crutchfield pulled a Best Buy/T-Mobile move... honestly it is such a poor reflection on these companies.

For those looking to order in the future - it seems Apple, Target and Amazon (at least in the US) are your best bet for actually getting the promised delivery timeframe.

Ordered from Apple on Dec 29 - Space Grey.

just got a notification that order delivery window was changed to Feb 15- Feb 22.

Which is also the current shipping time for new orders on Apple.com 🤦🤦

annoying that current shipping times match an order that is over 17 days old...

Indeed. I was sort of perturbed when Crutchfield sent that email stating that my January 18th pre order date had changed. I decided to cancel it and just wait for my Apple pre order which had been moved up. The Crutchfield debacle (kind of harsh of a word perhaps) did not sit well with me. It almost seemed like some sort of "bait and switch" move.

You'll get your order sooner... your order date was pushed forward, you'll be ahead of any new orders placed.

I agree, super shady in my opinion and seeing all of this just makes me never want to use those sites for pre-ordering anything in the future.
