The Mandalorian WAS in Dolby Atmos when I watched it 3-4 weeks ago, when I first got my APM. Now it isn’t. I had looked at Rise of Skywalker and I thought it was also listed as 5.1 not Atmos—which really bummed me out because I have the other two films of the trilogy on Blu-Ray with digital copy, so they DO have Atmos and I can watch then in Apple TV. But I somehow managed not to purchase Rise of Skywalker and I wonder whether, if I pick up the Blu-Ray now, whether the digital copy code will still be valid. I guess I’ll have to go to a brick and mortar store to look at the package before buying.

If anyone wants a great example of Dolby Atmos, check out the "new" Zack Snyders Justice League on HBO Max. Much better than the original one, and they make the APMs really shine!
I started watching out of curiosity about the movie, but it was the soundtrack that kept me glued. I watched late at night, and I kept reaching for the volume thinking I would wake someone. It really sounded like it was coming from my home theater setup.
Side note - please Apple, PLEASE release a new Apple TV that supports Spatial Audio. iPads are great, but not really the same as watching on a 65" OLED.

It was joked / pointed out that because of the aspect ratio the iPP 12.9 might be the best device to watch the Snyder cut on.
I’ve started to put them after I put the headphones on and they are indeed quite comfy. The choice of material along with convenient replacement is brilliant engineering.
Look what showed up (a day early)! FedEx delivered this morning and I’ve been spending the better part of today, using it.
I generally concur with most of the other reviews posted so far. ANC is fantastic. I don’t feel as much of that uncomfortable ear canal ‘pressure’ like with the Pro buds. I can be in the same room with a tv on (fairly loud) and not hear anything except for whatever I’m playing. I love how seamlessly it swaps between all my devices. Though I can also see how that likely contributed to those battery drain problems. I also got the 3.5mm cord (for gaming). Sound quality-wise, I felt it sounded better when wired. Those of you who prefer minimal listening volume may be disappointed. At lower volumes they felt kinda weak. They seem to have a sweet spot starting around quarter volume where they start to liven up. I don’t consider myself an audiophile or anywhere’s close, but these are the quirks I’ve noticed so far.
Not going to say much about that infamous case. It’s better than I expected and I get why Apple did it. I still wish it protected the headband in some form. All in all, I think I will be keeping mine. Yes it’s still extremely expensive... but I already talked myself into it and waited so long. APMs are definitely in the category of “nice to have if you can/want to afford them”. Though not a “must have” by any stretch.
Anyways, it’s been a pleasure hanging out with everyone for the past two months. I’m looking forward to seeing lots more movement in the next few days. I hope you’ll be just as pleased (or even more) with your pair!

EDIT: P.S. Forgot to mention that my unit still came with the default 3C16 firmware. Only after connecting to my 11 pro max, it updated to 3C39. A bit surprised since these seemed to be shipping hot off the assembly line. Would've thought Apple wanted to make that the default ASAP. Seeing as some people complain theirs "never update".

Congrats. I’m looking forward to mine as well. March 24-30 can’t come quick enough lol.
If my experience was anything to go off of: later today or by this time tomorrow you should be charged and enter PFS/PTS. The most important sign is how long it takes for the tracking number to become active. Obviously sooner = better. If it's already in the country, you may be able to receive it Friday. Mine only arrived Friday morning then got held up. I guess it arrived too late and missed the connecting truck.

Once you see a pending charge on the card you used, it will go to PFS and once your item is picked up at the warehouse or where it's coming from you should get tracking.
Just placed my order for blue, delivery date Apt 7-14, I sure hope it is quicker than that. Pretty much every Apple store around me has the space grey in stock, but I’m stuck in isolation since the wife has Covid.
lucky for me I had some gifts cards I had been saving for the past two Christmas holidays to make the purchase a bit easier to swallow. Without the gift cards, I don’t think I would have spent the money. I had been holding out on buying a new pair of headphones since the rumors of the APM started swirling, but I got extreme sticker shock when they were announced.
I can’t wait to hear them, and I hope they are what I expect them to be. Spacious( for a closed back) and detailed. If I had the time , money and space , I would love a nice pair of open back HP, but my audio purchases have to be a “one size fits all. I love my Homepods (RIP), and adore the AirPod pros.
I almost caved and got the XM4, but I honestly can not get past the horrible sound profile. No EQ’ing will save those. But I figured , if I’m gonna spend 300 bucks on something I don’t even care for, I might as well go all in on the thing I actually wanted.
Just a shame I couldn’t try them before buying. ... but I’m rambling, sorry, just excited 😛

Back on the topic of these headphones: I can't remember anyone outright saying they disliked or hated its performance, myself included. Again it mostly came back to whether we felt its performance justified the price tag. You mentioned that you love both your full-sized homepods & Pros. Having owned both, I think you'll love APM as well. I'd describe them as basically a homepod shrunk down into two earcups. Except they retain a full sound range unlike the minis. Nevertheless, everyone's preferences are different. Still try them on once they arrive. At this price, it shouldn't be a frivolous purchase. You deserve to be confident either way in your decision.
HomePods on my ears is exactly what I want. I don’t get to enjoy my HP as much as I would like( wife complains she can’t hear her real house wives show 🙄) . I had placed an order for a Green pair with an engraving earlier but cancelled it due to the uncertainty around the condensation issue as well as the lighter coloured headband potentially getting dirty easily. However, since learning that condensation was normal for headphones with closed ear cups and haven’t seen many reports of it since, I placed a new order last Monday (3/15) for a Sky Blue pair, also with an engraving. Total is a little over $800 CAD after taxes for me, though after applying $275 CAD worth of Apple gift cards from trading in a couple of old iPads, I’ll only have to pay about $540 CAD out of pocket. My order is still processing as we speak with a delivery window from 4/8 to 4/14 and I expect it to ship from overseas since I got it engraved, hopefully by next week. Looking forward to getting them!

I am in Toronto and ordered the blue version as well and waiting for mine to ship. It is supposed to ship between March 24-30.

Mine shipped today. I'm most likely going to miss delivery tomorrow, so I changed for it to be held at the FedEx Office across the street from my studio. Hoping FedEx follows orders and I can, at the very least, have them in-hand on Friday! Excited to try these out -- I love the HomePod (sad to see it go), so I'm hoping the reviews above about it being a HomePod for your ears is certainly an intriguing one.
Same here, just got my blue pair from JL, very quick and picked up at my local coop. I think they deserve praise during this lockdown with all the apple stores closed. Hope you enjoy them, I am very impressed with quality and sound and even like the case very minimal and stylish.
Actually, right now the discount is half as important. After waiting for more than 3 months, I would feel even more pissed if I cancel and it would become available… I still can‘t believe why it takes so long…
Ordered my wife the sky blue on 3/16/2021. Card got charged today and is now Preparing for Shipment. When placing the order, I was givin the 3/21(31)/21 - 4/7/21 Date. Looks like it will be right on time.

I was really excited to re-create this combo after seeing that “APM all colour combos” post, from shortly after these were announced. Blue/white was my second favourite. Though it’d be impossible to keep those earcups from discolouring, hence why I opted not to.
Understandable. But if the discount doesn’t matter, why not just place an order with Apple as well and cancel the one that doesn’t come first?
You said this retailer has been reliable. To me (based on what you’ve said), they sound pretty suspect. Space Grey shouldn’t be that hard to get. Or perhaps because of said discount they’re intentionally delaying fulfillment of your order?
