Anyone having an issue with battery level differences between the right and the left?

My right AirPod is losing charge about 15% faster than my left; both are always used as a pair.

Normal, or any ideas for fix?
You wouldn't have the right microphone selected in your settings would you?

If not, then perhaps it's auto-selecting one of the microphones for some reason, as detailed in the attachment below...

I was getting some hiss/white noise on audio calls with my AirPods, took them back to Apple and they did a swap for a new boxed pair - these ones don't have the fault present.

*sigh*

Have been using the replacement AirPods today as I've got a lot of audio calls. I thought I'd hung up on a call earlier by mistake... then it happened again... and has now just happened again. And then a little reminder popped in to my head that some people have been having issues with them dropping calls...

Yeah, I have a 7 and from time to time I get a call being dropped from the AirPods which I then have to re-select the AirPods from the list of connected BT devices. I suspect this is a firmware issue.

FYI it was stated that to update the firmware the Airpods have to be plugged in. That is not the case. This morning I went to do the update to 3.5.1 and before I could walk to the charger it had already updated.

My gosh, only Apple can design a tiny headphone case that scratches like hell, I also started noticing scratches on mine but the worst part is that the case is too slippery, so it's easier for the case to slide out your pocket. I'd say this silicone case is useful for both aspects, it's just silly that it's one more Apple gadget that unnecessarily needs a cover.

Just received mine today. Ordered yesterday via Verizon Online. No problems as of yet. On Firmware 3.3.1.
Music is great quality and far better than the lightning earphones that come with the iPhone 7. I can only assume people have received faulty AirPods. The fit is great so far. I'm headed to the gym later to see how my workout goes with these in.

It takes more than a couple of hours of use to notice if they have "issues". Not all issues are due to faulty units. Dropped calls is most likely due to firmware problems, as is inconsistency with activating Siri.

Another strange thing happening with this pair is that if I'm on a call, the call sometimes switches back to the phone without any warning and I have to go back on and switch them back to the AirPods. They were also doing that while listening to music on the MBP last night.

In addition, the finish on the right hand one is very poor, looks like there's a blob of glue on the seam.

My love affair with AirPods is coming to an end. I'm sick of them randomly disconnecting, stuttering when a task is being done in the iPhone or when notifications come in. Occasionally they don't connect to my Apple Watch. I've had three pairs now, all with the same issues. Officially sick of them. My cheap Bluetooth earphones from Amazon are more reliable. I put up with the 'poorer' sound from the AirPods as the convenience was more important, but that convenience is severely hindered by occasionally having to go in and reconnect the AirPods manually. Not a quick affair when outside wearing gloves and having to deal with TouchID. Great idea... poorly implemented. One has to wonder why they were delayed. These issues were almost certainly discovered during their development testing, so why wasn't it resolved??? They aren't ready for prime time and Apple knows this! Buggy piece of cr*p!

Just doesn't make sense. The first pair I had were rock solid in terms of connection and stability - this pair aren't at all. The only difference here are the physical pair of AirPods and its clear the new firmware hasn't helped.

My airpods are doing random things, the auto ear detection doesnt seem to work on my macbook pro. I can take them out of my ears put them in my case and they will carry on playing in the case! It works fine on my phone although when im watching a youtube video and take them out, double tap them to resume playing the video and it starts playing my apple music!!

Like I said above... great idea, but poorly implemented. Apple knows there's a problem but were more interested in getting them out the door for the Christmas buying frenzy.

Been using my AirPods for a solid 2 weeks, and this is with phone calls and music. No disconnect issues, music skipping, or battery drain. I'm using a iPhone 7+ with a Nike Apple Watch connected as well and everything works seamlessly.

It is certainly interesting to see why some people are having issues while others have none. For me at least its working flawlessly and I love being to use them across all of my devices.

EXACTLY this with the exception of using the Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch (original series). I totally agree with this post.

That's my AirPods swapped at Apple again although supplies are even worse now as they didn't have a replacement set to give so made one up from their service spares instead. Fingers crossed these ones don't drop calls.

Yikes after the 3.5 update I am experiencing even worse cut outs, drops & disconnects. Yesterday I couldn't not connect to my watch when the Airpods at all. I continued to get the message "cannot connect make sure Airpods are on & within range of watch". So frustrating. I have this issue randomly. Does anyone know if I take these to the Apple store do they have some kind of diagnostic testing they do or do they try to get the issue to repeat? I would like to have them swapped out but don't want to get to the store & have them function perfectly then leave & the same issue occurs.

I got mine today, finally. In many ways, they are really awesome. The stop/start functionality by removing/inserting the AirPod is really sweet.

However, in a lot of ways, I genuinely feel like I've taken a step back from regular EarPods.

The biggest issue for me is volume control - I knew what I was signing up for, but I use my earphones while running a lot, and depending upon noise around me, I have to frequently adjust the volume on the go. Not being able to do this without having to activate Siri, etc., is a killer for me.

Additionally, the double-tap functionality is less than perfect IMO. I find myself having to double tap multiple times almost every attempt in order for the functionality to work.

Rant over. I'm gonna give them another few days before making a decision on whether to keep them or not.

The volume thing does take some getting used to, especially if you're used to controls on the cable, but also because of the poor sound isolation - I've been out and about today and its frustrating having to keep adjusting the volume as external noise goes up and down. With a normal pair of in-ear phones with foam or plastic tips, its much less of an issue.

Fit-apart, these are absolutely brilliant though. Its difficult to explain just how great the user experience is compared to even normal bluetooth headphones.

Forgot to say, these latest replacements don't have the visible, messy, blob of glue on the seams. Not sure if that's a red herring when it comes to possibly identifying those which are more susceptible to call drops and the like.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but does anyone know of any good skin/wrap for the extended part of the AirPods? And if so, would it still fit into the case with it on? I'd love to just make the part sticking out black to make it stealthier.

Since this kind of volume adjustment is always relative to the ambient noise, I do wonder if Apple in the next model will come out with something similar to the ambient sound adjustment system in my car stereo? At which point they could also add noise cancelling. That would certainly solve many of the problems, if the music source is playing back all songs optimized for peak volume, then the volume could auto adjust for "road noise".
