Got mine a little bit ago, they're fantastic in a way that I don't fully understand. I have beats studio wireless as well, but I like these ones more in some ways, I think because they're less bulky and don't shut you off from the outside world (which is great sometimes but not other times). Having two pairs of headphones sounds excessive but they have pretty different uses cases so I'm okay with that.

For those wondering which AirPod case skin I got, I got this one:

PodSkinz AirPods Case Protective Silicone Cover and Skin for Apple Airpods Charging Case (Diamond Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XG6P444/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_7.e5ybKVTGBQW

They should come in multiple colors :)

Good reviews-- and if you have a problem with the case, they will replace it.

I've posted about my excellent experiences with these before, but I wanted to add a new data point.

I accidentally sent mine through the washing machine in the pocket of a vest.

I let them dry and miraculously (I think) they work as before.

That's amazing!

Very encouraging, even if they were still in the case. Although I think I remember a YT video testing them in a washing machine outside of the case?

Wonder how they'll hold up whilst running in light, drizzling, heavy rain. With Winter approaching here, that's the true 'real world' test I'm interested in.

Just on the looks, it's a non-issue for me, & I understand it's a subjective thing, but if people are treating the looks as a deal breaker, then it's a shame, as the other benefits of these things way outweigh their design.

My jawline actually hides most of the Airpods from front on. It's only when I turn my head at an angle when they're in full view.

Granted, I get that, most of the time, people won't see you directly front-on, it's still not a reason in my books to not jump on the Airpods bandwagon due to how they look on you.

I disagree. People care how they look, and that affects all manner of decisions about what they purchase, from clothes, to shoes, to hair products, to jewelry. The AirPods are an extension of that. As I see more and more of them in the wild, I have various reactions from, 'those don't look so bad' to, 'that guy looks like an idiot'. And yes, just like anything a person wears, one-size usually does not fit all. So that is as valid a reason as any not to buy a pair of AirPods.

For Apple to truly take off in the wearable market, they are absolutely going to have to get out of this one-size-fits-all, bottom-line-profit-margin, mentality. Apple will have to design products that have different looks, despite performing the same functions. Round watches, AirPods without the stems (or different stems). Fashion drives what most people wear. And as Apple rapidly devolves away from a multi-dimensional computer company and into a primarily consumer product driven company, the idea that the customer expects choices when it comes to something they wear is going to have to evolve beyond merely offering watch bands, and a minimal color selection.

I'm having a new problem with my day 1 airpods.. when listening to a call my RIGHT airpod will go dead in about 40 minutes, showing about 5% while the LEFT one will still have 50-60% power.. so one is running low much faster even though they both start at 100%..

thoughts? bad battery in one, or is there some power setting to is broken?

I use an app to EQ my Airpods but have to say I love the sound

I've run in light rain already and have a good feeling nothings gonna stop em

EXCEPT i do have times where music just full on stops! This has happened in the last week more than before which is strange. I guess maybe an update got pushed?

I listen to ALACs predominantly but even in soundcloud i've had the audio stop. An annoying teething problem.

Look in Settings>Bluetooth>Airpods - you may have the microphone set to Right Airpod only. Set it to both.

everybody still happy with the sound of their AirPods? guessing the sound hasn't got worse at all?

Still the same after nearly four months - great imo.

Started having an odd issue in last few weeks, when first putting airpod in I get the connection noise, but oments later when go to phone to start playing something, it's no longer connected. Frequently have to take out and put in 2-3x before it finally decides to stay connected, and then it's fine till I take it out hours later. This is using just one airpod.

i've tried that setting, technically it is set to "automatic" but I think we're saying the same thing. That's the way it has been for a while now

At one point recently I had five $150+ headphones in my collection (sold one of them). There are different uses for every single one.

Have you tried removing them from Bluetooth and re-adding them? I had a connection problem a while back and that fixed it.

Which app do you use to EQ your AirPods?

Had mine for a little over a week. Love the sound - while no audiophile I think they sound better than wired ear buds. Been using them on walks, at the gym and doing general household chores. Had the left one fall from my ear once while on the floor doing exercises, otherwise no issues. Love them and would both recommend them for others (if the earbuds fit properly) and would buy them again.

Since losing my case I've had to use the wired buds and its amazing just how much the cables contribute to pulling them out of your ears and generally making them a bad fit.

I've had mine for about six weeks now and couldn't be happier. When they first came out I thought they looked incredibly stupid. After having troubles with a cheap pair of wireless ear buds (they eventually died) I decided to buy AirPods knowing I had two weeks to use them and return them if they didn't work. I use them at the gym, on my bike ride to work, outside doing yard work and in the house in the early morning before everybody else wakes up. I've had zero troubles and absolutely love them.

Airpods = Use at office for work or just general use
Beats Powerbeats3 = Gym and Jogging
Bose QC 20 = Travel

I'm a very happy person with this setup and it's very compact. :)

I can't believe how much I have loved wireless headphones. I was never bothered by the cords in the past but damn it is so amazing for work and gym. I'm already trapped like a sardine in a plane so no biggie there for using a cord. :p
