Yes. It seems so, but keep that order and check iStockNow. I had ordered from Apple.com on 1/1 with a delivery date of 2/22 but I was able to pickup AirPods at the Apple Store on Wednesday 2/5 (had them held for me at the store when I was notified by iStockNow.). Keeping up with this thread it appears that people are receiving their Apple orders around 5 days earlier than the date they were given when they placed the order. I canceled my Apple.com order when I received the email from the Apple Store that I could come pick them up. The AirPods probably would have been Preparing to Ship and not able to cancel that day. Great timing for me!
I got the same email. It would appear Verizon's order system isn't quite linked up with what's available to ship, even though the confirmation email indicated they would ship today. I should have realized something wasn't right when I tried to check the order status from the confirmation link last night. Order couldn't be found.
Got a notification that they stocked in the mall by me. Ordered a pair and they're ready for pickup already. iStockNow is a godsend.
Cancelled by 1/19 BestBuy order. Was lucky to find availability for pickup at Apple store.
Thanks to @iStockNow, it showed up as available for Apple in-store pickup this morning. Grabbed a couple.
I got the same email from Verizon. I called and they had no idea when they'd have more or anything so they gave me a 20 dollar credit. I'm irritated because they were still in stock until after an hour after I ordered.
Just got my AirPods. Really was pure luck though that a store near me happened to get them after Verizon failed to come through. The employee who helped me asked me if I used a third party tracker to get them since they sold out so quickly. Thanks again, iStockNow.
I was disappointed by Verizon.. BUT an update to the BH order I place while they were out of stock on the 12th: My CC appears to have been charged, but it is listed under the "Pending" part of my bank statement. I'm a little confused as to if I have actually been charged for it considering on my order status it still says processing. any ideas?

Or maybe just start berating BestBuy's customer service...
The "ships by date" was the beginning of March, while I hope to not wait that long, it's not exactly close either. A lot can happen in a few weeks, and chewing out their customer service won't do any good. They can't ship what they don't have in stock.

My BestBuy order on 1/17 & 10:56am email has some movement. Now states 2/22 arrival instead of 3/7.
Hmm. I just checked my Best Buy order placed on 2/9. Changed from "backordered" to "preparing", estimated delivery 2/20. No movement on my Verizon, AT&T, Apple and BH orders yet! If I get a tracing # from BB I'm cancelling the others!
