Received dekoni's today. Fit great, easy to use, sound the same to my ears as the Apple Silicone ones. Can recommend.

Thanks for the brief report but I have a question. If they sound the same as the Apple silicone ones (£8 for 2 pairs) what are the advantages of paying twice the price for the Dekoni ones (£25 for 3 pairs)?

I bought the Comply ones which also sound the same as the Apple ones and haven’t found any advantage in the less durable Comply.

Glad you asked. For myself there are really two reasons. Wearing the standard white silicon made my ears itchy. Maybe it's because Apple used some weird chemical plasticizer in the silicone, cos they also smell very odd to me.

Secondly I find the foam tips to be considerably more comfortable. I can even doze off to sleep on my side with the foam tips in. This wasn't possible before with the Apple silicone tips as they press hard against my ear.

Also sometimes I do the "double ANC" (yes I might be a bit of a control freak OK). that is, placing the Airpods in the ears and covering them with the Bose 700's. At that point I'm literally in my own bubble and can't hear a thing around me.

*bliss*

Take that neighbor with your Sat morning roof repairs! With the foam tips this doesn't hurt anymore.

That is one of my issues with the standard tips from apple. They get loose all the time and do not stay sealed. Annoying to push them into my ears while out before the buds can fall out. I use the large tips and any of the smaller ones are worthless for me. Hopefully some foams will resolve this for me.

For now I only use my airpods pros at my desk or inside because they fall out too easy while exercising outside. I mainly use them for noise cancelling at the moment. Sometime soon we'll know what foams are good or not between the 3 mentioned options in this thread.

edit:

I’ll try out comply with their current BOGO to see how they are. 6 sets for ~$25.

Yeah the main benefit of the foam for me is the tight seal without constant or even intermittent adjustments.

my pros are starting to act real funny and while i cant see how the tips would cause it im getting paranoid. The other day they died completely, resets and charging via the cable wasnt working. the next day it occurred to me to try the wireless charger and that fixed them but people were telling me my zoom calls were fuzzy now... i dunno. Almost certainly unrelate but figured id bring it up

UK seller for the Dekonis: https://www.electromod.co.uk/products/dekoni/Eartips/Dekoni-Apple-AirPods-Sample-Eartips-/ - £25 including shipping so slightly more reasonable although like the Comply, really quite ridiculous for a few pairs of ear tips but there you go.

I've ordered the S/M/L pack and hopefully they will arrive in a few days.

I've then tried I think, every tip available :p
Yeah let us know how they are I’m in the uk and might buy a pair from this seller.

Went for comply, cancelled order after reading this thread, bought dekoni’s on amazon and arrived in one day, They work great

Ordered some Dekoni’s. I will try them out today.

Edit: Got them and they are significantly better than the ones that come with the AirPods Pro. If you’re on the fence, grab a pair of Dekoni’s off Amazon.

Was one of the (Un)lucky ones where the AirPod Pros kept falling out of my ears and were more or less quite uncomfortable. Giving it a 2nd go-around with the Chargen Foam tips(Thanks Amazon). So far so good. Still a pain to get a good seal but once established they finally stay in my ears and sound great. Still on the fence though. The standard Airpods were just so seemless compared to the Pros...for me.

Still better than stock tough? Do you get a good fit test with them?

I wouldn't say so. The best for me is the first suggestion a few months ago: stock silicon tips filled in a foam tip. It honestly is the best for my ears, nothing else beats it.

I do at first but because of the way the AirPods Pro are a flawed product, the fit test fails after a few uses. Only Bluetack on the grille resolves this.

They at least stay in my ears unlike the stock tips - but all the foam tips do that.

I bought APP first day they came out and the left one kept falling out during runs. Also felt ear pain within 40 min. Returned to apple after 10 days. Last month I bought them again along with CHarJens to give them another chance since I love NC and have compared the NC of the Sony 1000x with the APP. The foam buds do make a solid seal and dont fall out when used as instructed but I still feel that pain discomfort after several uses. I can forget its there for a bit but then am relieved I took them out after less than an hour. Also if you put in these AirPods in ears and then put the Sony 1000X on, the NC doubles and everything goes from barely noticeable to complete silence. I envy those who can comfortably wear these AirPods for hours. I really do envy you. I dont care about the cost of these tings. I just want them to work, which they dont. I'll go back to the old ways and buy another pair of original AirPods since the 1st gen are junk now. At least Ill have 2 cases. With the originals, they would only sometimes fall out of I was doing dumbell flat bench lifts. Other than that, I forgot that I even had headphones in my ears. Unacceptable product by Apple these APP. I say this because ive used cheap silicone in ear cable buds before and they were comfortable so no idea why Apples product is so painful. The best ones I ever used were cable in ear buds that came with an HTC phone. They were great and fail proof. Great sound and didn't pop out.

A little late to update...

My comply foam tips arrived and I tried them out tonight.

First and foremost, they are immeasurably more comfortable than apple’s silicone tips but I have an issue with the AirPods anyway.

I may or may not have a defective right AirPod pro. It was difficult to seal it with the silicone tip and same with comply foam tip, did not resolve the issue. The left AirPod pro seals good with silicone or comply. I followed comply’s instructions and many times tried to “adjust” the pod but did not seal once.

Has anyone had an AirPod replaced that wouldn’t seal? I have AppleCare+ but I think normal warranty should replace it.
