Hey, I've bought the AirPods Pro, and my problem is that after 2 hrs of use, both AirPods are at ~55% (as indicated on the iPhone).

When I put them into the charging case, they suddenly drop to 15%.

This is just a visual bug on the indicator that occurs if you put them into the case because they last for another two hours, but it sure is annoying given that you virtually don't know their real battery life after 50%.

The AirPods are running on the latest Firmware, and so is my iPhone (13.3).

I tried the following to get rid of the bug but to no avail:
  • Disconnect / Reconnect the AirPods;
  • Completely drain both the AirPods and the Case;
  • Connect them to a different iPhone that has been reset to factory settings.
Anyone here with the same issue?

I’ve never experienced the behavior you described (or better: never noticed it) but many others glitch in the battery level indicator.

i.e. I put in the charger around 40% and suddenly they boost up to 60%.

every time I wear them (100%) after a minute they decreaseto 99% and stay there for many minutes.

Wow, yes this happened to me yesterday. I put them in the case at 74% and they suddenly dropped to the 50's. They charged up pretty quick so I think the display may have been wrong but who knows.

I’m actually relieved to read this, as I’ve had this happening for weeks now & thought I was the only one..

I mentioned it in another thread, but this one’s more relevant.

After 2 hours of use (podcast), from 100%, checked battery: Siri says 60%.

Flip lid check on iPad: 60%

Flip lid check on iPhone: 10%!

Flip lid check on iPad again: 10%...

I’m not sure if the Battery Widget’s to blame or not yet...

I’ve also factory reset the AirPods Pro‘s a number of times, whilst on phone with Apple Support & in Apple Store. Made no difference. I’m also on the latest software on all devices.

The battery’s also gone back up from 20% to 60%, so there’s something wrong with the reading, not the battery life itself.

I noticed recently that only one Airpod sometimes drops, which brings the ‘average’ battery life down, but other times, both AirPods battery drops....

Oh & when in the Apple Store, I showed them a screen recording of the issue. They ended up suggesting I wait until the next firmware update.

It happened to me again. Put them in the case at 54% and a few seconds later they were at 10%. It’s probably happening every time and since I usually don’t check, never noticed until yesterday.

Is this the Battery Widget or the pop-up notification?

edit...
Looks like a new firmware’s out. Let’s hope it addresses this battery reading issue...

It's the pop-up notification that's giving these readings.

Yeah my brand new 6th pair is showing weird battery readings. One Pod was at 100% and the other was at 70%. I tok it out of the case and the percentage reading on the widget jumped 10% every second up to 100%. Hopefully a new firmware update is on the cards to address some of this silly issues in 2B588 now that they have withdrawn 2C54.

No solution to this yet? It's really annoying.
I completely drained them and the case to 0%, charged, and the problem was gone. It is just a visual glitch FYI and has nothing to do with the actual battery of the AirPods.

It's a software problem. I tried draining mine completely, but they are still the same.

Hi,

So, Even I’m happy to see I am not the only one experiencing this issue. My AirPods Pro is 20 days Old and I experience the same problem. If Anyone has found a Valid Solution to this please point out. Also I’m just confirming this has nothing to do with the AirPods right? It’s just a firmware glitch?

- Thanks.

I just checked yesterday and it definitely is a software glitch. I kept using them and the percentage stayed the same until it actually drained beyond that. You can keep using them.

I tried draining the AirPods Battery only and not the case and the problem persists. Is it completely resolved after you drained both the Case’s Battery and the AirPods as well?

Today, after using my APP, my iPhone showed they were at 65%. After putting them in the case it showed them at 43% and not getting any higher even though it showed they were charging. I went on my iPhone in bluetooth settings and selected forget this device. I then re-paired them and then they showed being 83%.
