Iphone 5s just doesn't do it for me.. sure its faster and .5" bigger screen than my 4s but other than that.. way to similar. apple needs to step it up.

I'll always love iPhones but the repetitiveness is overwhelming and boring.

so yeah iPhone gets boring..

my 4s can run iOS 7 why would i buy a 5S hardly any different.

I enjoy my 4s to I just want a bigger screen for browsing all I was getting to and that when apple gets a bigger screen I'll come back.
Just browsing your posts on this thread I would say you don't really know why you are bored with the iPhone. You say all you want is a bigger screen, but then in other posts you say you are bored with the interface, but love it? Fair enough if you are bored, I couldn't care less in all honesty as its not my money. Just buy a phone you like and be done with it. Nobody here needs convincing.

I got bored with Android after 4 years. I also got frustrated with the lag, lack of current updates, and apps that were not optimised for the phone I had been using. The App Store Apple offer was the major draw for me, plus I was sick of carrying around an S3 that I felt was far too big as a phone. I purchased the iPhone last September and didn't look back. I didn't need convincing at the time.

My advice to anybody is to try before you buy as all phones are different and appeal in different ways to each person. I have friends who can't for the life of them understand why anybody would buy an iPhone. I also have friends who wouldn't consider anything but. Its all relative to your needs and only you can decide what the best phone is. :)

I like ios7 I'm not bored with that. I mainly use my phone for web txt and music an a few games so app stores not a big deal to me. I think a 5" would jut be a nice change till apple gets something above 4" to offer. I don't really like how the iphone has so much space on the face that could be screen seems like it's wasted IMO. I'm sure I'll be back to apple next year just need to mix it up

I've always thought the physical size of the iPhone 5 could stay the same, but enlarge the screen. You could easily get a 5 inch screen on the body of the iP5, I would like that. My Samsung S3 had a 5 inch screen but the phone was quite a lump in itself. I'm not against bigger screens, just bigger phones that don't fit in my pocket, so I agree with your sentiment. :)

Best of luck with Android.

For me, whilst waiting patiently to buy a 5S due to lack of stock I used my dad's s3 and a Nokia N73 and I'm so glad for Apple and the iPhone, just my 2 pence.

Not a criticism, but it sounds like you have a lot of money. Possibly more than sense. With all this phone buying and all.

I understand how you are feeling OP, I permanatly switched exclusively to android about 5 months ago and have used HTC One, Moto X, LG G Pro,Nexus 4,BB Z10 and even Nokia 920. I am using the HTC One right now but I ordered the iPhone 5s about 2 weeks ago.

I like Apple products but all the bells and whistles made me switch to android and I was very pleased until I started to have hardware issues with my HTC One and also software issues and lack of updates on some android phones. The camera on all the devices I have tried have not compared to an IPhone; hardware issues with the HTC Ones camera and microphone have left me wishing for my old iPhone 5.
I purchased the HTC with out a contract but I have to go through HTCs warranty department in order to have my One fixed but I was advice I would be with out a phone for about 2 - 3 weeks.

Android is amazing love that it's capable of so many things but customer service, hardware and software issues have left me with a bitter taste. I wish you luck . ;)

My nexus 5 is being delivered today, I have tried many android hones over the years trying to switch to them but the amoled screens I just can't stand. The nexus 5 uses the same IPS LCD that the iPhones used, same manufacturer also, LG.

The main reason for buying it though is that it is so cheap off contract, I am going keep this and my 5s.

I have been selling my iPhones when they are a year old and it has cost me 0 dollars to upgrade to each new iPhone over the last 3 years as long as you have a business to be able to get a refund on the sales tax and depreciate the iPhone over 12 months.

Their is a very strong market for one year old iPhones as the new owner still has a 12 months warranty with Apple Care.

Try this with any other make of phone.

It's okay that he/she doesn't like iPhone anymore. I hope he/she finds a device that pleases him/her.

It is possible to tire of the apple ios. Some people just want a change, which can be refreshing.

I don't blame you. Try it out, you might like it.

I have an iPhone 4S. The 5S offers, LTE, .5" bigger screen, fingerprint scanner, faster processor, and AirDrop. That's about it.

The 5S has a steep cost for those things, some personally I'd never use. I don't see why anyone would be surprised that someone else would want to try something else. Especially if the competition is nearly half the price.

Personally I had my Android run and I'm perfectly content with Apples offering at this time.

for now i think I'm going to switch my phone purposes to android and get a Nexus 5. i will always be an Apple computer guy as i love iMacs and macbook pros (have both) but the iPhone has been way to similar for ages.

I think you'll enjoy the Nexus 5. I got the Nexus 4 in February because the iPhone was too small. I also have an iMac and an MBA, as well as an iPad 1, and there are plenty of third-party services (e.g., Evernote) that make it easy to sync stuff across disparate platforms.

I recently added a Windows tablet to the mix. I'm surprised how much I like Windows 8.1 on a tablet, but I don't think it would work for me on a PC, so I'll stick with Macs.

I've flipped between Mac and Windows over the years. My first PC was a Mac Plus in 1990. In '96, I switched to Windows. The awful Vista sent me back to Mac in 2007.

Good luck.

I have both the 5S and the Moto X

Same SIM so I switch often.

Apple offers much more polished Apps, 5S camera is also better. Much easier to use too. "it just works" is so true.

With so many Launchers and widgets available on Android I can change the look of the Moto X on a whim. It's also pretty cool to have my phone sitting on my desk and without picking it up just say 'OK Google Now" and have it wake up and ready for Google Now.

Google Now much greater than Siri.

To each his own, don't be so hateful of someone that wants to try something else.

Went through the exact same thought process when I had a iPhone 4 and they just announced the iPhone 5. Thought it wasn't enough of a change and thought Apple was being stagnate ect ect. Got a GS3 and tried it for 30 days and at the end of the 30 days I was running; scratch that, sprinting back to my iPhone 4. Yes most Android devices hardware wise have big/high specs for this or that and the OS really isn't bad. However the phone felt "cheap" compared to an iPhone, the app selection wasn't as robust/good as iOS apps, I found myself having to think more about what I was wanting to do so the user experience was that good.

How exactly can you get a 5 inch screen into the same phone size as iPhone 5, especially easily (or really any way)?

The more I read the KitKat reviews it seems that 4.4 is nothing more than a cosmetic (barely) update to Android. I've been tempted to try out the Nexus 5 but the camera and the lag Android is prone to is really making me think twice...

The OP will be back... I've tried the HTC One X, HTC Rezound, GSIII, GS4, HTC One and all of them are top of the line Android devices and here on my desk today sits an 5s.

I can understand the boredom. If the nexus 5 had the same size screen and no new features over the Galaxy Nexus or nexus 4 then I might not have bought one... because why bother? Especially for the money.

No harm in drying Android. If you want to get crazy then you should give Windows phone and Blackberry a whirl.

N5 is a great choice over the iPhone.

If verizon had Nexus devices I would never use anything else... until nexus Ill iPhone.

Then it's not worth it to you, which is fine.

I am someone who used iPhones from 2007-early 2013, and exclusively from 2009 (when I left Nokia) until late 2012 (when I got the Nexus 4). I still use iPads. I am a Mac fanatic. So... I tend to have a pro-Apple bias in most cases.

That said, I, personally, prefer Kit Kat to iOS7. It's not the complete revamp that iOS 7 was to iOS6, but Jelly Bean wasn't the hot mess iOS 6 was. I liked Jelly Bean, but I really like the subtle (for the most part) tweaks of Kit Kat.

KK on a N5 is a dream. It's fantastic. Are there things I want fixed? Sure. I want Hangouts to merge SMS and chat for individuals so I don't have two slots for one person. I want a few other things. But overall, it is very well put together, and I honestly find Play to be a better experience than the App Store.

Also, I dig wireless charging. I dig the vastly bigger and higher-res screen. I like a lot that the N5/KK has that the 5s/iOS7 doesn't. That said, it's not like I hate iOS 7, and I intend to get a new iPad mini. But for phones? I now prefer the Nexii. I miss Messages, but that's about it, and that's seemingly being taken care of.

As someone who owned the n4 and now the n5, kitkat really makes me feel like I have a totally difference device. The layout is only "cleaner" if that makes sense, and things like LTE and the camera were improved on. The display is gorgeous and there is zero....and I mean zero lag.

I also previously had an iphone 5 and this is how you update your OS. I did not care at all for the looks of IOS 7, so this feels refreshing and done right.

That's not because they're not great devices. It's because you prefer iOS7. The OP might prefer KK. Since it is a preference, it's hard to tell which way someone will go.

I will say, though, that, as a long-time iOS user, it did take a fair bit of time to mentally switch to Android. I'm sure the other way is the same. I think a lot - not all, but a lot - of those who switch and then switch back do so because they don't give the other platform enough time. Overall, it seems you can do pretty much anything on either that most people care about, but some things are easier on one and others are easier on the other.
