I see this a lot where I work people think they want an android and time and time again we see them coming back to the iPhone. The biggest thing I hear complained about is stability. People hate system crashes lol. Oh and the fragmentation (but that's a whole other topic). Just a thought.

I agree, it has become very stale to me. I've tried switching to Android 3x and just can't. My biggest hangup is the app store. I greatly prefer the iOS app store vs Google Play. If only I could get over that hiccup, I'd convert. :)

I switched from iphone to the S4 then the note 3...I love it. I love android compared to IOS and the huge screen size is amazing as are the widgets and how easy it is to copy over pictures. watch films with the SD card...just a much better experience.

but for alot iphone is great and it is but for other people it has become boring.

I've always thought the physical size of the iPhone 5 could stay the same, but enlarge the screen. You could easily get a 5 inch screen on the body of the iP5, I would like that. My Samsung S3 had a 5 inch screen but the phone was quite a lump in itself. I'm not against bigger screens, just bigger phones that don't fit in my pocket, so I agree with your sentiment. :)

This is what gets me, here is my iPhone 5 on top of my SGS3, hardly a lump.

Same old bs...someone wants to switch...sheep say you'll be back...for my experience, switched...never went back...someone said kit Kat is a cosmetic upgrade? What about ios7? Cosmetic...oh and what, adding features that have been on other phones for years? I try to stay away from speaking my mind on topics like this and usually say if people want to switch, then switch...but the sheep are starting to get annoying. Im rocking the N5 right now and its way better than the iPhone...simply put...its better. Stop crying about lag because there is none. Stop basing your wrong opinions on older android phones. The N5 has ZERO lag. My S4 had ZERO lag. My note 2 AND S3 had ZERO lag. My iPad 3 with a clean install of ios7...LAGFEST.

Iphone 5s just doesn't do it for me.. sure its faster and .5" bigger screen than my 4s but other than that.. way to similar. apple needs to step it up. for now i think I'm going to switch my phone purposes to android and get a Nexus 5. i will always be an Apple computer guy as i love iMacs and macbook pros (have both) but the iPhone has been way to similar for ages.
maybe they can pull it off next time but the 5s was a bit of a let down..

At least you're going with a Nexus experience. Most people that switch to Android and then revert is because they get a device with carrier and manufacturer bloat. I switched last year and love Android.

Same here. It's funny seeing comments after the original post go from, "see ya, you'll regret it" to "welcome, great choice." lol

No lag on my Moto X either. Also I have to wait over a year to get a new Iphone, with Android I've tried four different phones this year. If this is fragmentation then I'm OK with that.

I cracked in 3 months.

I fully intended to wait for 4.3 on my GS4 but just found myself irritated by several things that could not be overlooked.

Right there with you......the GS4 overall did not impress me. Ready to go back to iPhone primarily with a Nexus 5 as my Android device. At least then I can be free of the AT&T bloat and Samsung nonsense and get regular updates.

HA! I'm in the same boat. Been through the N4, HTC One and GS4 so far this year and have an N5 on order.

I think my wife would like the Moto X - but I don't think she'd want to leave the iOS ecosystem - rather I wouldn't want her to either......we have too much set up with calendars auto sharing, shared photo streams, shared iTunes match etc....

I've kind of been feeling the same recently. I still have a 4s but picked up my friend's 5s the other day and it's all the same. Not sure what I want to expect

The iOS is the same, but the phone isn't. The 4S is a great phone, I used to have one before my 5S. But it takes more than just "picking up" your friends 5S to realize how different it is.

The camera is a lot better, the phone is a lot faster, internet browsing is WAYYY faster, screen is bigger, lightning connector is more convenient, phone charges faster and drains slower, screen is more crisp with more accurate color.

The 5S is all together better in every aspect than the 4S. One thing I liked about the 4S was the build, I liked the more durable stainless steel band. But this is how every update is. I don't understand what people are expecting the iPhone to have, to make it "ok" for them? Every iPhone has consistently been one of the top smartphones in production. Please tell me what could make the iPhone so much better?

Not a criticism, but it sounds like you have a lot of money. Possibly more than sense. With all this phone buying and all.

how? i have a 4s not like i bought the 5s and don't like it. just skipping it. a lot of people get a new phone every 6 months I've had my 4s since release. and I'm getting nexus 5 on telus on a contract not full price.

----------

I can understand the boredom. If the nexus 5 had the same size screen and no new features over the Galaxy Nexus or nexus 4 then I might not have bought one... because why bother? Especially for the money.

No harm in drying Android. If you want to get crazy then you should give Windows phone and Blackberry a whirl.

Hhaha ive had a few blackberry 9700's

I'll always love iPhones but the repetitiveness is overwhelming and boring. I'm sure I'll get one again..

This

I'm tired of my 5 and want the x but I know I'll be back once it takes seven steps to do what the iPhone does in one or two lol.

It's the hype and all that crap customization that gets me but once I get it reality kicks in.

I swear if instant off these tech sites I'll be fine.

You might be pleasantly surprised by Kit Kat. I'm not saying that everything is as easy as iOS7, but a fair bit is easier, and most is very similar.

If you go Nexus , you won't crack in 3 months or whatever, at the end of the day, it's whatever works for you, there are plenty of phones in the market ro meet everyone needs, don't give into the Fan Boys be it Apple or Android, your money $ buy whatever phone works for you , there are advantaged and disadvantages
Just to prove a point , I was an iPhone guy and well immersed into Apple ecosystem, purachsed the iPhone 5 had an iPhone 4 before skipped the 4S, tried it out for 2 months and decided to try an Android phone and not anyone android phone I went for the Nexus 4, because I wanted to experience stock android to see what it's all about, every other phone was out of the Question for me , I was not interested , it has been a great experience with the Nexus ( has it's issues) the camera was the biggest disappointment for me, but everything else was flawless, no lag, battery was fine for my uses, the phone was $299 ( Unlocked) , the screen size was perfect and noticable coming from an iPhone 5, and plenty of other things, widgets, notification led light, Photosphere ( when used), pretty much some of those things can be done on an iPhone but it would require jailbreaking, on a Nexus no need, anyway I've been more content with Android and just upgraded to the Nexus 5 :D, I still own Appe products but as far Mobile Phones I'm sticking with my Nexus 5 for a while, will I consider an iPhone in the future sure why not lets see what the future holds

Whatever floats your boat!

They are both different. If you are used to one, then switching to the other will likely require an adjustment period. As an Android user, I tend to get a little frustrated when using an iPhone because I'm not used to how different it is as I don't use it much. You have to do things differently.

Hope it works out for you.

I'm gonna check it out shortly. I'm trading and the phones I'm considering don't have kit Kat yet.

Part of the reason for the iPhone's success is that the phones remain similar with each update and could be used by nearly anyone - old or young at any level of tech competence.

That's true.

However, people can grow tired of similarity and simplicity.

Not everyone wants a car that looks almost the same every year, and not everyone wants an automatic transmission.

(Oh good grief. I hate automobile comparisons. But it seemed to fit.)

Um... Pretty sure before notification center you had to find settings...then find WiFi...simple tasks took too many...compared to android where it's. Wait..it can't be...right in the notification panel!

If you get the moto x, you won't go back. I wanted the moto x but once i had the 1080p screen of the s4 i couldn't go back... Now I'm on the Nexus 5 and while I do wish it had active notifications ( Motorola has to have a defining feature for them), it blows the iPhone out the water

.
So. Let me get this straight. You apparently don't care at all about your phone syncing with your iMac? How strange.

.

I have an Android phone and use Macs.

My files, browser (bookmarks, history), email, instant messages, calendar, contacts, notes and music are all in sync. Anything else I just "drop and drag".

Why would you want to sync your phone to your Mac when you can sync them both to web services? It's not 2002 any more.
