And the best buy lines begin....

Got my ticket from best buy, it's raining and their shipment was coming around 10am so they are passing them out now. I was #2 for the 16gb wifi. Seems kinda Anti-Climactic compared to the xbox360 and ps3 lines. :mad:

Any who I can pick it up before 5pm and they call you when it comes in.
 
As a UK person I've struck lucky as my GF is from Sacramento and she's there at the moment.
She's just started queueing at BestBuy for me and is 3rd in line, fingers crossed they have stock of the 64Gb one that I'm after.
Doesn't open until 10am tho so she still has 3 hours to wait :(
 
Showed up at BB at 10:03...SOLD OUT. He said it was a ticketed item blah blah blah...but if people don't pick them up by 5:00, they sell them.
 
My Best Buy opened at 9 AM. I walked right in and was the second person to purchase one (32GB). About 6 people walked in after me.

Their shipment just arrived at opening.

Syncing it now.
 
Currently sitting outside (9:40) no line at clarksville, TN not to sure people know about it. I wanna try before I buy. They just got the shippment like 10 minutes ago.
 
Best Buys here in the Phoenix area open at 10am. I stopped by two of them, one about 1 hr ago, there was one guy waiting in a car the other I stopped by about 10 min ago and there is one person outside.

I am now waiting at an independent Mac store that opens in 1 hr, at 9am, but they have not received their shipment yet. There is an employee already here and it says their status is Out for Delivery but he has no idea when it will get here. Best Buy is only .5 miles away so I'm sort of driving back and forth checking on both.
 
I cannot believe how easy it was to get a ticket at Best Buy (they handed them out at 8am, the tickets are good until 5pm... they had several of all models. I originally thought they had 15 total, it turns out they had 15 of each model, but held back some in case there were any defects (they opened up all the boxes and made sure the screens weren't cracked).

All the people were showing up 15 minutes before opening, and some of them were lucky enough to get a ticket.
 
I waited at Best Buy for 3 1/2 hours. But they had so many available, that people were just trickling in after the store opened and didn't have to wait at all. When they opened the store, there were only 29 people in line and Best Buy had 20 of each model.
 
Just spoke to my girlfriend who's waiting at best buy in Sacramento.
They originally had 20 of each model bit have just had another shipment, all this and there's only 6 people in line and it doesn't open for another 2 hours
 
Does Best Buy have demo models on the floor? Thinking of taking a ride over to check it out if they do.
 
there were about 25 or 30 apple loyalists at the door for the 10 am opening in Appleton WI. There were demo models available to play with and I availed myself of the opportunity. It's very nice but not Magical and I saw no Unicorns while handling it. I asked how many they had and was told about a hundred as a shipment came in that morning. So all the hype about scarcity was just that - hype. there are plenty for everybody who wants one. I feel better about waiting for the 3g version now and even think I can just wait for the 4.0 OS. Actually holding it helped ground me and put it in perspective.
It won't change my life but probably would be nice to have, just not right now.
