That is great news, what is even better is how incredibly fierce the competition has become within Android, you have Samsung trying to stay at the top, LG trying to dethrone them, Huawei eating away at many competitors as Samsung did in the 2000s, Xiaomi making great mid rangers challenging some high ends etc.... It's a great time to be on Android.

As for iPhones, I have always seen them more as competitors to mid range Androids i.e. Galaxy A5, Huawei P9 Lite, Xiaomi RedMi 3, HTC 10 Lifestyle etc....

I don't think that is the case. Regardless of how they are perceived to measure up in the spec department, they are at a price point that directly competes in the high end flagship market.

We have to remember here that not everybody is a tech geek who adores 4K screens and processing power. The lions share of the global market just go for phones that are perceived as cool and that goes for multiple brands. Specs more often than not are not the considered element.

Always the defender.....,

how long till you mention profits...?

You're right, Apple only made 40b last quarter.:rolleyes:o_O And is still the most valuable company in the world. How bad could it be?
Boom!!! There he is with the non relevant monetary side of things.
Tell me , when you are dealing with bug after bug, does it make you feel better when you think about all the money they cream off you?

I don't have bug after bug in the Apple products we have. Would it make you feel better to have bug after bug for a product half the price and no support?

Nice piece of change.

You haven't answered the question, but you are good at avoidance arnt you. Let me guess, if apple music deleted all your locally stored files, you would probably praise them for getting rid of music you never listened to anyways.. awesome...

You are accusing me of deflection? Lol, you couldn't mate this stuff up. It's awesome. Do you ever answer a question where Apple isn't viewed in an ultra positive light. Erm.. I think we all know the answer to that.

You know the sad thing is that we all know you are disappointed by them right now. It's only natural, they rob you blind, for sub standard copy me products . They can only dream of producing something like the s7 edge, that is years away. You've seen one, had a little play when no one is looking. And secretly love it....
But when you shout from the roof tops how awesome one firm is, you know how silly you would look if you turned up with a handset from a rival manufacturer. Small tip, never put your eggs in the same basket.

A simple question, how could you possibly know the information you portend to know?

Ps I'm happy Samsung produced the s7, even happier Apple produced the 6s.

Just to be clear here no one is picking on or ganging up on one poster. It is more to the fact of wanting explanations for the constant apologizing for Apple one poster does. Asking for explanations of statements is not ganging up on someone. Asking for clarification of contradictory statements is not ganging up on someone.

That'll switch up fast with the iPhone 7. How much did the competition make on similar services?

If it hits 75 I personally still make a killing. The "Apple is doomed " Is strong in this one.

A more likely scenario given Apple, is the quarter the i7 is released Apple has a record breaking quarter, making 55b, stock goes up to 110 leaving Google in the dust.
Lets make a list of WHAT'S NEW in the iPhone 7 judging from the rumors

1.No headphone jack
2.No Antenna Lines and the Same body
3.Dual cameras for a supposed "Pro" variant (Dunno what's exactly pro about a phone. It doesnt even have a file system but hey they get to slap up the price another 100 bucks just for the "Pro" Label and give us a 32 gigs phone for the price of 64)
4.The usual upgraded internals

If thats all they got they are gonna have a HARD time convincing 6s and 6 owners to upgrade.People like me want a dual lens camera but there is no way in hell I am buying that big a phone with those humongous bezels unless they shave em off like the Galaxy S7.There isnt a single killer feature in there for both sizes uniformly. In addition APPLE has already forecasted another drop in sales.Unless Apple's doing controlled leaks to wow the people like Jobs did, this iPhone is going to get the most lukewarm response in history.I was going to upgrade to the iPhone 7 but now I am wondering what I exactly get apart from 3D Touch and a faster phone.Answer:Nothing

Over 60% of Apple's revenue comes from the iPhone. This is a potentially scary statistic as the sales are nosediving. Its time Apple took a good hard look at what happened to Nokia and Blackberry.Resting on its laurels, bringing out 16 GB and 720P rehashed phones isnt gonna cut it anymore.Phones like the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 are solid pieces of engineering design. The competition has caught up

This thread has become an excuse for ganging up on one poster rather than continuing what was an interesting discussion. Yawn.

We are just questioning the logic behind his posts. He keeps bringing up monetary values and profits as if its a indication that all fine and dandy with Apple when it plainly isnt. They missed their own guidance estimate this quarter and that isnt a good thing

You have no clue, as does everybody else, about the iPhone 7. The 6s was a sleeper reflected in total sales and I suspect the same will be true for the iPhone 7.

You were saying Apple was on its way downhill in quarter they made 53b, lol. In a sense you were right, only a 40b quarter followed.

As much as I preferred iPhone over android devices, I've decided to go worth android is year.
I tried the Nexus 6P and loved it but the hardware is rubbish, it's cheap and nasty and the build quality is awful. So I have been trying the Samsung S7 Edge this week and as much as I'm loving it, I'm finding its not as open as the 6P. I can't disable the contacts app and install my own from the play store, same with the messaging and phone app.
I understand to do this I need root but I then void the warranty.
So it appears as open as android appears to be it's only if you buy a nexus device.

Really? I just loaded go sms pro, on my s6 edge, and as soon as I opened it, it asked if I wanted to make it the default messenger app?

Ps, just done the same with a dialer app..

You can just load extra mail, dialer and messages apps, put the icons where you want. Then go to notifications and turn the original ones off, so u don't get 2 beeps when you get a text. Just in case u didn't set the new one as the default .

I should have tried that, on the 6P I was able to disable them but touchwiz must just replace them as a default app.

The power of android OS now is immense, couple it with industry leading hardware like the s7 edge and you can see why iPhone sales are dropping...

That's why I switched, owning an android device on marshmallow feels like owning a small computer.
I'll never understand the hype behind apples new A9 chip when it runs such a small screen and I still get stutter in some long menus scroll.
Also Google as a company excites me more with hat they're doing, if Apples R&D is so great and secretive then why could they only come up with things like Apple TV4, watch and iPad Pro.

If the iPhone 2017 does indeed look like the render below with the edge to edge display.......what will all the apple fans say that have knocked the Galaxy S7 Edge? What will they say now that Apple has the exact same thing? Will they still say it is just a gimmick? Apple following the market trends again.....they used to lead.

It should now be abundantly clear to these types of posters that those that were calling for Apple to do more and compete harder before the latest sales quarter were right. They were right to call Apple out on all these shortcomings. We don't have to wait for sales/profits to suffer to start coming to terms with what others here have already been observing and warning about.

Over the past several years Apple has become very adept at controlling its narrative in the tech media. But if they can't release anything new other than US$50 nylon watch bands, I wonder how long they will be able to keep that up.

The press writes nice things about you until they run out of nice things to write about. Then they start write bad things about you.
