The A52, A72 and S20 FE are so good that an S21/+/Ultra is a tough sell. Their midrange is cannibalising their high-end.

On top of that, the low-mid range phones from Oppo, Xiaomi, OnePlus are bringing real competition to Samsung. None of this applies to Apple - if you want iOS, there’s only one option.

Android manufactures seems to me becoming more like Apple by taking away features. They are literally pushing me as a consumer toward iPhone. If I’m going to get less options and less hardware features regardless, might as well buy an iPhone since I know it will be supported for 5 years+, has better warranty service, and better resale value.

Also the main reason I gear toward iPhone is because I have more financial related apps on my phone these days. Of all my years using Android somehow I feel iCloud lock is more reliable to know I can remotely lock or wipe it if I lose the phone. Yes I know I can do the samething with Android, but I had previous experience with testing it out on different Android devices and it’s not always been flawless especially with phones using nonstock UI where bugs are introduced. And I know the reputation of how hard it is to get through iCloud lock. And for whatever reason Pixel phones don’t have a built in feature where the phone auto wipe itself after 10 passcode attempts. No I don’t want to buy a Samsung just for this feature, especially now they have become very overpriced to my eyes while keep removing features.

For now I own a Pixel phone just for it’s camera portrait mode and third party youtube and media playback apps. As nice as iPhone camera is, the portrait mode on Pixel phone is still superior at the moment.

I believe it's obvious that if you have a wider range of products, your sales numbers will be spread out more. Samsung has models ranging from less than $70 up to more than $1500. Per model, Samsung will sell less than Apple. However, overall, Samsung is still selling more phones overall than Apple as Samsung is available in segments where Apple is not.

But clearly at premium level, Apple brand is still more desirable than the others.

Samsung's A5x series have been Samsung best seller for years.
Although the Chinese does give Samsung some challenges, especially at the lower end, brand wise, Samsung is still more desireable. Mid to low end, Samsung is essentially the "Apple" of Android, where many would prefer having a Samsung brand phone if they can afford it than any of the Chinese.

LOL, no clue why you're posting an article from March, but they're at 2,429T right now. So try again.
it is very childish but we have a troll in this thread that only comes to this section of MR to post negative things about Android and Samsung in particular.
So I post something to put things in perspective.

Sure but that works better if it's relevant, recent information. This is just old.

Sure, like I said, they're over 2,4T right now so I consider it rather old info you're posting. But sure, whatever rocks your world. Carry on.
you might consider it old information but the rest of the world does not. The future growth earning and predictions, earning calls, financial predictions and stock buys and sells are mostly based on the last financial quarter.

so whatever dude.....i get it....

No....you posted about Samsung. I posted a link that proves your wrong.

Apple just lost second place globally in the smartphone space. Seems like Android is gaining ground. The exact opposite of what you said.

Again and again you are proven wrong in these threads.
You really have no credibility at all.

"Android in decline"

You post about one particular series of Samsung's line as proof of this, while worldwide android is in growth, not just in phones but tablets too.

Maybe you're just a little confused, but I suspect trolling is more appropriate considering your usual approach and overt zealousness regarding anything regarding Apple and Android.

Dial it back a bit, it's cringe inducing frankly...

Android is not in decline by any stretch of the imagination. It remains the most used mobile platform in the world due to its product outreach. Any suggestion it’s declining is pure fantasy or reaction seeking IMHO. I am an iOS user and can say this with the utmost certainty.

I guess it depends on where the person is.
In developed markets where iOS has quite a large marketshare, it might seem that Android is in a "decline," in a sense that there are less flagship brands now (literally just Samsung) compared to years back when there were LG, HTC, Sony, Motorola, etc.

But of course, in other markets, Android is perfectly fine as it is pretty much the only choice for anything below $600. As that market grows, Android is growing as well. There are still many people who's buying their ever first smartphone.

It would be in decline in my circles but I was looking at this in the global sense. I can acknowledge it’s the most used mobile platform even if most of my friends, family and associates use iPhones.
