And exactly what lie was told to you?

Nexus 7 (2012) studdering with 4.4.4? Really? And you talk about iOS misinformation?
The 2012 model had bad memory modules. Wouldn't surprise me if he has had issues since day 1.

I wish my company would replace my laptop with a Surface Pro 3.....this thing is slow as molasses and irritating to carry around. If I have to be on Windows, at least make it something that's efficient and easy to use/carry.

(I'm in sales and travel a lot)

Wow, the misinformation about Apple is strong up in here. I understand many people are frustrated that "Lollipop" is coming soon but they are not even sure if/when it will be supported on their devices...

iOS 8 was available on existing devices even before new devices like the iPhone 6 hit the shelves. I hope it (Lollipop) smooths out the terrible studdering on my Nexus 7 (2012) whenever it finally becomes available on my device. I bought the Nexus 7 with the understanding it would get all Android updates immediately but that was a lie -- I will get it faster than most Android users, many of whom might have to buy new devices in order to suck on their lollipops. In the meantime iOS devices are buttery smooth with awesome new features

Remember that Android L / Lollipop isn't released to the general public yet. Most (if not all) supported Nexus devices should get Lollipop on or close to November 3rd.

My wife would like to believe you but her iPhone 6+ has been delayed ANOTHER 4 weeks! She may see it the first week of December. Maybe you'll get Lollipop before she gets a damn phone that was ordered 3 days after release, much less her ability to use iOS 8.

In the meantime, she is using my original Moto X and its buttery smooth OS with awesome features that were copied by both Android and iOS. Irony can be a heavy weight... Or wait in my wife's case.

I think if I had been your wife I would have cancelled the order if I was told I had to wait that long. I love the iPhone and have a 6, but would have found an alternative if I was made to wait ridiculously long for it.

My wife had an issue with her 6 when it didn't arrive on launch day. Apparently Carphone Warehouse had taken her money but did not actually place the order. She was told they were sorry but she would have to wait 3 to 4 weeks. She did some digging and wrote a stinking complaint letter to CW's Chairman and within an hour of sending the email she had a phone call from the Director of customer service. She had her iPhone by 11am the following morning. I understand in some of these cases there are supply issues, but they need to be more transparent in relaying this information. Its not like there are not other phone's out there. :)

That the Nexus has pure Android from Google (true) so as soon as there is an Android OS update from Google, I would be able to get it (false). This is only true with iOS.

Nexus 7 (2012) studdering with 4.4.4? Really?
Yes, affirmative. For example when I tilt the device between landscape & portrait mode in Chrome & scrolling stutters on pages which are buttery smooth on iOS. Mind you this is reproducible on Android after a fresh reboot with no other apps open whereas iOS is buttery smooth after not rebooting for weeks and many apps are open.

It often happens that the Nexus battery is dead when I want to verify something after days in standby whereas my iPad is still alive after weeks (probably longer but I have not tested) in standby mode. What is Android doing in standby mode that makes it drain the battery so fast... anyway, getting too off topic.

My iPhone 5 had a battery issue & Apple replaced it in store for free. It was out of warranty. Would Asus or Google help me with Nexus 7 memory?

That is strange! Why not just walk into a store, buy the iPhone & cancel the online order in this case?

Btw my Samsung smart TV stopped getting software updates fairly soon after it was new... you should all hope for Apple televisions so that companies like Samsung would be dragged by the competition into offering better services.

This is not a lie, this is you not understanding how updates work.

It's quite simple really. iOS rolls out one day for all supported devices...

ICS released in Nov 2011... then took +6 months for most of the major devices to adopt it:

http://www.techspot.com/guides/534-android-40-ics-availability/

Not even the Nexus 7 first & second gen rollouts were together. I got burned before on an HTC smartphone that took approx. 1 year to get its Android upgrade so went Nexus 7 on my tablet purchase because many (including the store) said because it's pure Android, as soon as there is the Android release it would get its OTA update (like iOS), but that was not true.

And this is not Nexus 7 stuttering, this is Chrome stuttering.
Chrome is the default browser on Nexus. Maybe you thought I meant it stutters when flicking through icons/widgets. If so, it's pretty smooth in that respect.

If you have the first gen Nexus 7 (2012), it gets very slow if you don't have at least 3-4gbs of free space. Asus used some cheap SSD module it degrades badly over time. Clean up some space and boot into recovery to clear the cache. That will restore some of the speed but it will never be like it was brand new. I was surprised that it will receive the Lollipop update.

Android and iOS update work differently. Android is purely OTA. For whatever reasons they have to stagger the roll out, maybe server bandwidth, etc. I think the longest I've waited for an update on my Nexus was a week. And I had the Nexus S, 4, 5, & 7. If you want the update right away, go to XDA and get the zip to flash it yourself.

Really? Do you have a proof of that?

When Google said that every ****ing Nexus device gets the OS the same day it's released when even they do rolling releases?
Maybe they didn't say day one, but they definitely painted the picture of getting updates first and in a timely manner.
I would think that a company as large as Google, with the amount of expertise that they have, would be able to handle the rollout of an update to a few millions devices within a day. Back when the Nexus 7 was released, the Nexus line was not (and is still not) a huge seller, so there couldn't have been all that many out in the wild at the time.

What do you think and why the updates are staged id totally unrelated

So no, there was no lies and you were making things up

Okay. That's like, your opinion, man.
I bought the Nexus, based on Google's promises of fast updates (coming straight from Google) as well as many friends and internet reviews of the fact that if you wanted something as close to Apple updates on the Android side, Nexus was the purchase.
Don't try and change the score after the game has been called.

OH no, the one trying to change the score is you after proving wrong. But looking at your other thread about the notification lights, it is not surprising what you're doing

Really? And what am I doing? Do you want to see the receipt for my Nexus 7 that I purchased? You need verification that I actually bought it?
Geez, step back and realize that what I said is exactly what Google pushed when the Nexus line was introduced. No need to wait for updates from carriers, since it came straight from Google.

Maybe because there aren't any 6+'s available for T-Mobile. They don't even have 6+ display models out in their stores. I went to ATT and saw a 6+ on display but the lady said they didn't have any to sell, and probably wouldn't until December.

Trust me, I already looked and called all over for this phone. Apple simply can't make enough of them, fast enough.

Actually, Google said they would support products for 18 months (minimum), and 'could' continue for a longer time period depending on external factors, like hardware limitations.
The original Nexus 7 is now over 24 months old. Be grateful it is getting 5.0.

Oh, I'm done with it. I sold it when I realized that Google couldn't provide updates to it before any other devices. When HTC can provide the update to their own phone with their skin before I got it on the Nexus, it was time to sell it.
