ANd how does that make you feel? Does it grind your gears?

Do as you wish my friend. What you post doesn't make me look bad. I am only responsible for myself. I just think those type of posts are way too common on here but it goes with the territory and you do whatever you want.

You know I have a lot of Apple gear? So I am not a fan boy of any platform or business and call then all out on their strengths and weaknesses.

I do wish people acted a little more mature but being childish also seems rather common once an argument is lost.

Have a great day.

My iPad isn’t old, just more affordable as refurbished. (2019)
I recently did a system restore and iCloud restore.
I was shocked to have all my apps in place like before and a couple of GB in recovered storage. It is a drawback having only 32 GB storage.
The OS and associated files take up 10 GB.
It does not make sense to have Apple fans using this thread.
I don’t care to be considered childish if those comments are aimed at me.
I am visually impaired and need the best product for the task.
I’m not blind. I do know Apple was blind friendly ever since the release of Mac OS Leopard in 2007. Maybe even Tiger, when I think VoiceOver began. Accessibility friendly since the beginning of OS X. Even OS 9 was able to speak.

I’m all over the Pixel Tablet. Especially with the dock making it a hub.

What I’ve been wanting from Apple for years.

I’m not one of those ‘most people’ who don’t want a computer.
I enjoy my Windows PC the most as it is not a struggle to see the screen.
It’s all about my vision issues. People with good eyesight don’t get that, but you will. My iPad 7 is easier to see. I can’t push the Nokia’s text any higher.
My iPad is not better.
The 911/Escort comparison is silly.
Just how did you come to that conclusion?
I would compare iPad/Android to a car with the same engine with manual transmission versus automatic.
My 4 cylinder Escort with 4 speed transmission worked fine.
My 6 cylinder Pinto with automatic transmission was a gas hog because it had A/C and power steering. The vehicle was too heavy.
My Escort was fun and economical.
Well to each their own. I don't like my Wife's iPad.
I just got a 12.4" Galaxy Tab7 FE with 128 GB for $299. Huge upgrade to my Galaxy Tab S2 I had.
So I bought another one with 64 GB for $229. ....both come with Samsung cover cases.
Never had an S Pen so not sure how I'll use it but we'll see. Enjoying it so far.

Going to get a BT keyboard for them on Amazon next. The Tab S2 didn't have that option feature either lol.

I didn’t watch the Google event.

What sort of price point will be?

Will it have secure biometric login? I mean something other than the insecure 2d camera-based face recognition.

I’m not fond of Samsung’s version of Android. I also notice Samsung’s prices are high without a trade in, on their site. My Galaxy Tab A from 2019 is already EOL. My Nokia T20 is not getting the promised updates.
For those reasons alone, the iPad is better.
I could get 7 years of updates with a Chromebook, but Android (still Google) is pathetic with updates.
The new Android 12 products from Lenovo are only promised to receive Android 14.
Saving money with refurbished iPads works for me too. My iPad was $120 less than the new price. It is 2019 with only 32GB storage. 64GB didn’t happen until the iPad 9, still the current model.

Anything that is made by Google gets updates first. My Pixel 4a has had android 13 for a while now
And getting 5 years of OS support is great but I never keep my devices that long......though I did have the Tab S2 for that long. Phones i keep 2 to 2.5 years.

I was going to get a Surface Pro but these prices were too good to pass up.

So I don't decide devices by updates, don't really care. I just don't like iOS.

I can’t afford to do things your way. Even if I could, I’m too cheap.
For me, Android has good and bad, but so does iPad OS.
Some Android apps don’t rotate. I hate that! Lazy developers.
Some apps from the Play Store are not compatible with my device. Hate that too!
That never happens with Apple. Almost all apps rotate. Only once have I found an app that should be on the App Store, but isn’t. Any app on the store installs and works.
That is what took me to iPad in the first place.

I have been too accustomed to Samsung's UI since they're who I went to after iOS 7 happened. I tried to use other variants of Android, even LG's (which tried to be a direct copy of Samsung but failed at it) but I kept going to Samsung.

I'm too stubborn I suppose. But updates or lack thereof don't really affect me. I would prefer NO updates myself but that story has been told in this thread many times over, so if anyone wants me to elaborate, just go a few dozen pages back.

Samsung's skin is too easy to skeuomorph, and the amount of customization made it far easier to make my Galaxy A13 and Tab A's resemble a 2011 HTC Thunderbolt or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 than anything made by Motorola, and especially Google.

I don't need crap like Dex, and my uses for a smartphone have not changed much since 2010. I'm still using the same apps, same games, same stuff. The only 'new' anything is my use of NFC payment and the Amex Serve app. However, the Serve app can run on a Galaxy S4 from 2013 so that's not such a 'modern' app anyway.

My way isn't extravagant. Some people here change phones like underwear lol.

I keep my devices a while and don't go for the flagships any longer, hence the FE edition and the Pixel 4a. Though I just ordered a Pixel 7 yesterday.....but not the Pro version.

I do like the extra things Samsung adds to Android but don't want to spend the money on their prices,.....unless something like this deal comes along.
I don't need the latest and greatest Tab 8, the 7 will be good enough. I'm not an extreme tablet user but my Tab S2 was just very , very slow.

I'm trying harder and harder to buy for life these days. I ensured my main phone was 5G capable to future proof (plus in September they rendered both my Thunderbolt and SII dead, as SMS has finally died and I think we got RCS here now) and stick to that belief.

I became too aware of e-waste and endlessly raping our planet for resources and exploiting child labor isn't agreeable to my ethics at all, and things being so disposable is just so wrong. I recently got a ton of 1970s-early 2010's stuff and realized how repairable and reliable it all was and it's far more fun to use those. The sound from a 1970s Pioneer makes a modern Dolby system sound like total garbage. Sure, you have to spend time 'dialing it in' quite literally with endless buttons and knobs but boy howdy do they sound awesome!

But it only hardened my stance to keep things forever. I not only save $$ but also reduce my footprint as well. Win-win if you ask me. I shudder at how many phones are disposed of (as in in the literal trash) and since I haven't seen a phone in the wild with the screen intact (how do you shatter the LCD with a screen protector on?!) they probably have their phones via subscription or lease, and treat them like crap.

I treat everything like it's gold and keep everything pristine. If I buy second hand stereos, for example, I painstakenly repair and restore them to their former glory. Just by the amount of 'leftover' stuff in vendor malls, I realized we have so many leftover items that can satisfy generations to come, and we don't need to buy anything new at all. Imagine how much better things would be if we just appreciated what we got, took care of it, and only paid for what we need ONCE? There'd be zero debt, zero credit needed, and inflation would just be nonexistant.

I dunno, I long to live in Mayberry. Just how I was brought up.

I suppose Android tablets are not dead if Apple keeps making the iPad more expensive.
Hey, I'm looking for a good forum for Chromebooks.
A Chromebook can do what an Android tablet can do, plus Linux apps.
I couldn't hold a Chromebook in my hand as I do a tablet. Too big. Too heavy.

I suppose Android tablets are not dead if Apple keeps making the iPad more expensive.

The thing is, since they are keeping iPad 9 around, I think Apple can afford to launch iPad 10 at a higher price without risking losing sales to Android. One year old iPad 9 is still a more logical buy for most than what Android has to offer in the $300-$400 price bracket, and it probably will be for some time to come. Android desperately needs better options in this price bracket if it is to eat into Apple’s tablet market share. I hope the Pixel tablet targets this price range.

Ipad compared to Android tablet is like comparing Porsche 911 GT3 to 1991 Ford Escort.

Something goes wrong with the Porsche, it’s most likely going to be a a decent wait, expensive, and a PITA to get fixed. A 1991 Escort can be fixed with chewing gum. 😂😂

I actually did use bubble gum and some duct tape to temporarily mend the throttle linkage on my 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue many years ago--thing popped a c-clip and almost stuck me on the bypass.

Waiting for Pixel Tablet to go along with my Pixel 6a. I love Google's Android.

Apple iPad is too locked down and boring.
