My Mom has had an AT&T account with me since 2001 when it was still called Cingular. But I kept going over the data limit, so she was ticked off and told me to get my own line. So Sprint (Feb-Mar 2017), Verizon (Mar-Sept 2017), and T-Mobile (Mar-Present).
I had to do Sprint because they offered the G5 for so cheap ($120 or $240) at Best Buy and didn't have much money that time. That G5 was a great phone which I ended buying two more to sell or trade-in for an S7 edge on T-Mo and is why I bought another one (that's unlocked) three weeks ago. Just hate Sprint.
I would rank it -
1. T-Mobile
2. Verizon
3. AT&T
4. Sprint
Verizon's coverage is better for me but I don't like their customer service. Bunch of ghetto people like they just left a jail cell. Been to multiple stores and they lack any sense of humor. With them, you can't pay partially debit and cash. It has to be one or the other. You can't pay certain installments on your phone. Has to be the entire thing or monthly to keep you there.
Their unlimited is $40 more expensive than my T-Mo One deal where I get a $13 monthly discount from a Pixel promo. I like Verizon's coverage as they are the only ones that can give me a signal at the Urban Plates in Brea, better speed, and how they come unlocked, but that's it. They treat me like just another guy and don't know how to build rapport.
T-Mobile isn't perfect but I get $70 flat rate with no $20 service charge. Better promos. T-Mobile Tuesday freebies. Raised their data from 30gb to 50gb last month before throttling down which is more than double than their competition.
This is why I hate Sprint -

After paying full price, I remember I had to domestic and international unlock my Sprint. G5. After three months, it stopped reading my T-Mobile sim where it can do call and text but no data. Then when I tried selling it to a nice Korean gentleman with his college son, it wouldn't read any sim. Then one Sprint employee assumed I didn't pay my bills when I actually always paid ahead of time with them.
The nice guy that I am, I ended up giving my G5 to the Korean buyer for free since I didn't want him to think I stole it and had another unlocked G5 coming from the mail that was on the way. I lose FM radio with the unlocked one as my Sprint's FM chip wasn't locked. Nothing is ever perfect no matter how many gadgets you rotate with. But I got rid of anything from Sprint, thank God. Good karma followed as my unlocked G5 made me the most money from DoorDash the following week.
I hate Sprint to the core. I wouldn't join Sprint if they offered every new phone to me for FREE including a silver 256gb iPhone X. They would all end up being an iPod touch.
As for the Essential Ph-1 (Phone), I like the design and how it uses ceramic which is harder to scratch but that's it. Dave Lee's opinion intrigued me but it was short-lived.
$100 cheaper now meaning it is a conplete flop because it only sold 5,000 of them. The Lonzo Ball shoes for phones. Even HP Pre 3, Nokia N9, Xperia Play sold better. An Atari Jaguar sold much higher. It's not going to be a collector's item since nobody wants it.
Poor camera.
Used Sharp Aquos Crystal and awkward handling with accidental input if not enough bezel on the sides.
You're better off getting the Pixel 2 XL on a much better network called Verizon. Then you can use it on T-Mobile with no problem.
Oh, and did I mention I absolutely hate Sprint?
End rant.
Next response... Cool story, bro.
