I purchased my 16” at the end of January. I only use it for Logic Pro x. i also have the pops that most here experience only with internal speakers. Even though I can still return it to Costco, I got it with a nice discount. i really liked everything about it, so hoping for a fix. 80% of the time i use an audio interface or headphones w/o a problem.

YouTube pausing or fast forward/etc does not occur or it’s not easily heard. Spotify it’s fine too. I can easily force it to happen with one track using a voice sample. It’s set to 44.1khz. If i increase the buffer size over 512 is basically gone, so I would think a software update should fix it. Come on Apple!

Excellent insight! Thank you for this. Please keep reporting this to Apple with each OS update that doesn’t fix it.

Would you point me to the thread for the new MacBook Air? Thanks!
I too would like to see some reports on the MBA doing having these issues as well. I was considering buying one, but I won’t if this is the case.

Very sad .... because this isn't small problem of one user. I began to watch more for this problem and noticed crackling when just press on trackpad, without running any app. I hear this few times ...
Anybody tried change/repair or any solution for this device by apple?
bought 15 inch I was afraid of "butterfly" it still perfect on my experience... but something new from apple for "good" money, sad....

Away from you
It's not a T2 bug, it's macOS related.

Yep. My 2017 13" rMBP hasn't had this problem in its 2.5 years... until now. Seems like this surfaced with 10.15.4 in my case. Possibly even with the latest supplemental update this past week or so.

Edit: to clarify, my issue isn't audio-output related, at least in my use case. My "pop" is the one that sounds like thermal expansion and happens every few minutes whether audio/web media is playing or not. To simulate, just take a pen and tap the metal case. I remember reports of this a few years ago and thought it was a software issue.

The issue is not machine specific. There is no “repair”. It will happen on every single machine, specifically the 16” MBP in my case. I have verified this time and again with Apple even at an executive level.

Today I found a new continuation of the problem, hear crackling when press trackpad or keyboard, I clear install 10.15.4 and 10.14.6, maybe in my case its noticed not like in most cases, I m not sure .... but its important problem for me.

No I am not. Already described my issue earlier in this topic. Random audio popping / crackling when playing YT videos. No matter which browser. Seems to happen more often when CPU is under load.
Hopefully the incremental fixes aren't creating new problems of their own.
