dang it

I just bought it in hopes of at least hearing a ballgame tonight while at work. :D

But even like someone said before (didn't see it before I bought it) the audio doesn't even work. :(

I went up onto the MiLB site and I didn't see anything about MiLb tv. I was hoping to get that too this year. I was too busy last year to even think about it.

I found it! :)
I just wish they had an app for the iphone. :(

I have the MLB package on DirecTV and the slingbox app, which I think is the perfect combination....definitely no need to purchase MLBTV.com and/or the At Bat app with this combination.

Yes, you will with the exception of local games that are blacked out.

Thank you. I also have a slingbox and with that I guess I can then still catch the Cubs. WhiteSux games I don't care about (unless one of my fantasy players is going against them :)

No problem, it's a really awesome app and I'm also going that route as well for my DBacks. Really makes me appreciate AT&T allowing Slingplayer to be used on 3G. All the bases (pun unintentional) are covered that way!

PS. On a semi-related note, how hard is it for a newbie to get into fantasy baseball?

It's real easy. ESPN.com and Yahoo.com have been the sites I've used since '97. Just a stats game comparison if you will...REAL fun to draft and track your players and make deals!

BTW, if you had MLB At Bat 2009, don't throw it away like yesterday's trash just because 2010 is out. 2009 can access all last year's games via the Archives button. I do wish it was easier to pick a specific date instead of having to hit the back button a zillion times, but it's still nice to be able to watch the condensed video of some of the better games from last year.

I wonder how long they will be accessible for but this is nice to know, something I'll definitely have to remember for this year's version.

Don't know if you've noticed, but the 2010 version makes this much easier. When you click on the date, you're able to select an exact date.

So I have a question. If I buy the $15 iPhone app, plus the $120 MLB.TV web subscription, will I then be able to watch ANY feed of ANY game on my iPhone?

Yes, you will with the exception of local games that are blacked out.

Not quite. The $120 MLB.TV package gets you a choice of home and away feeds for all games, while on the iPhone, you'll be restricted to a single feed (in all but a handful of cases, meaning the home feed). Same as last year, yes to ANY game but no to ANY feed. So if having your own team's broadcasters when they're playing on the road is a big deal, you'll still be pulling out the computer to watch.

Good for you, but fo rmany of those without DIRECTTV, or sling, or a MLB pakcage, this app is the bees knees my friend. I live in LA, I can watch and Red Sox game anywhere, thats priceless....you're route does rock, no doubt just throwing the alternate view out there.

Audio seems to be working for certain games now.... Mainly NY vs ATL.

If you click the little quicktime logo it launches safari to play the stream, so that you can exit safari and keep listening while doing other stuff.

If pandora did that everyone would stop whining about multitasking.

It would also break Pandora's revenue stream and kill off any interactivity that makes Pandora's business work. Without that data, their company would have no value.

We apologize for having lame sports talk radio guys for announcers. I hope this is just for spring training since one of the sports talk networks just gained the broadcast rights this year.

But thankfully the audio sounds pretty good, although I wish it was a higher bitrate over WiFi. This sounds like an awfully clear AM reception or maybe a 32k mono audiobook.

The point to blackouts is that local channels are showing the games and selling advertising between innings. To cover all my bases, I subscribe to mlb.tv and I also have a Slingbox at home and Slingplayer on the phone. When the Phillies, Orioles or Nationals are playing, I can watch them on MASN or one of the Comcast sports channels or Philly channels via Slingbox. Anything else I can watch via mlb.tv. There's no way MLB is ever going to eliminate blackouts for any price so that's really the only way to get around them. Now that Slingplayer (and Orb, again) work via 3G, it's a viable option. You can get a classic Slingbox off ebay for dirt cheap these days and, despite what they say, it works fine with the Slingplayer. ...

I don't know if this has been covered (sorry if it has, I've missed a lot of what has been said) but how do they handle the blackouts.
It is by your billing address or where you are (IP address) ... or is it by both?
My billing address is in the Philly area, but I'm away from the area for a while.
So if I was in CA with a Philly billing address, can I watch & listen to Phillies games?
