Care to answer the question he won't answer? Should ios email allow full attachments? (Don't know how caught up in the thread you are but for the record, this was an example someone else used; I'm merely carrying on the conversation)

Remember, each individual has their own preference on how to use their device. Meaning if one person doesn't need full attachments, another might. So if we truly care about individual personalized use, as i7guy professes he does, should ios have fill attachments?

Of course it should. I've been calling for that for a while. It's the last thing on my list of things iOS should have. List updates after every major iOS release. iOS 7 > 8 took care of 2 of my 3 wants. Attachments is the last one.

I still feel they'll use iCloud Drive to take care of it. Plenty of ways to do it without having to go through a whole file system.

Anyhow, 1 problem area for me isn't enough to outweigh all the benefits I get.

Lol, why am I being dragged into this? For the record, and for the most part, more options are better than less. But as I've pointed out, use cases are different.

I'm getting pretty terrible battery life on my S6 as well. In my pocket most of the day, very light usage and connected to wifi. Yet by 3pm I'm at 64% and the biggest drain is cell standby....why is that happening if I'm connected to wifi?

My Samsung Push Services are updated. I'm running stock TouchWiz out of the box.

Compare this to my 6+ which started the day at about 83% and is now at 66% after a steady stream of getting and responding to iMessages. I thought I read somewhere on here the S6 had good battery life. It's not even as good as my 5S, let alone my 6 or 6+.

There was a post saying the s6 was on par with the 6 plus but I find it hard to believe. Anandtech had the s6 slightly worse than the iPhone 6.

Is your VoLTE (enhanced LTE) on? There's an apparent bug that seems to eat the battery life on the S6/S6E that hasn't been fixed yet.

I'm at 49% battery life remaining with 2h 35m SOT which is pretty damn good in my books!

I had an iPhone 6 for 14 days and dumped it.

I'm still in the 14 day window for my S6, which I used to return the 32gb model and get 64gb, but its a keeper.

If someone were giving away the S6 and iPhone 6, and it cost me nothing, I would still take the S6. I just think it's the flat out better phone.

Same here I sold my 6+ to get the S6 edge. The S6 is just that good! Then think what the Note 5 will be? Some great possibilities.

That's unfortunate. What's draining your battery according to the battery usage menu? How's the signal where you live?

If you're getting anything less than 3 hours SoT, that's pretty unacceptable for a phone of this caliber. I ended my day at yesterday with 4.5hrs SoT and 14 hours of standby, and 9% battery life remaining. I live in an area with good reception and spent most of that time on Wi-Fi.

Wow I was off Mac Rumors for a few days and this thread blew up!

Long story short, I started off with the S6 and while it is the best Galaxy S phone I've used, it's still no iPhone. I swapped it for a 6 plus and couldn't be happier.

Battery life was terrible. It wasn't near as good as my ip6 was, let alone the 6 plus. I have several Samsung enthusiast friends who upgraded from the S5 to the S6 and they all say the battery life is terrible in comparison to the S5.

Very weak cellular radio in comparison to iPhone. In places where I got 1 or no bars of service on the S6, I'm getting 3 or more on the 6 plus.

Sound quality through aux and Bluetooth. The S6 was not as clear when connected to my tones or through my cars auxiliary.

Several other things which are personal preferences such as not having to worry about having a ton or preinstalled apps, or having multiple calendar apps, or having to delete or disable a bunch of stuff right off the bat. The S6 is much better than the previous galaxy S devices as far as bloat, but it is still way too much for me.

In the end, it's all about personal preference. I did not start this thread for purposes of a "my phone is better than yours" debate. Yes the iPhone still lacks true multitasking and some other features that are nice. But for me, it more than makes up for it by having other reliable features that I don't find on android. It just took one more dip in the android pool to remind me how great iOS is for me.

I have no problem getting a day on my gs6 and came from a gs5 in my case the battery life is a tad bit better on the gs6 vs my old gs5.

We have 2 iPhone 6s and 2 6 pluses at work and they are almost non stop on the charger

I am not sure what is the problem tbh. I do take photos outdoors and perhaps the boost in brightness is hitting battery hard? I turned off google location history and it improved battery somewhat but given I get 6-7 hr screen on time on both my 6+ & nexus 6 used in same way and I'm getting around 2-2.5 on the S6e is disappointing. I may try a factory restore at some point.

Edit.... Actually since disabling Google location history battery has improved.

10hr33m on battery
70% battery remaining
1hr 5m screen on time so far.

If that rate remained in would be around 3-4hr screen on time.

Still not the 6-7 hr from my other devices, but anywhere between 3-4 is liveable for me.

Skratch, you seem to be the exception though, an outlier versus what just about everyone else is reporting. Nobody else here is seeing the results you're reporting, most reporting average to absolutely horrible. Just about every review I've read also mark battery life as a big deficiency. You can't discount this poster claiming terrible battery based solely off your experience because most here are closer to what he's seeing.

Same goes for your anecdotal evidence about your workplace iPhones. The iPhone 6 certainly isn't regarded as a battery performance powerhouse (though considering the capacity of its battery, it seems pretty damn efficient) but the 6+ is widely recognized as one of the best performers available presently.

I don't use Android, but I might. Is something continuity-lilke integral to Android? Or are people thinking of things such as Airdroid?

Pushbullet is my preference, but yes airdroid is more robust. There are others like mighty text and more Im not aware of probably. There is no stock app or method like iOS. Google apps largely sync cross platform on their own though

I have first hand experience with an s4,s5 and s6 I can take a picture of all 3 of them if you want but my results are real world and are from someone that came from a gs5 to a gs6.

I am getting great battery life on my gs6,better then my gs5 and have broke 6 hours of on screen time on the last 2 charges and I'm a power user.

Maybe I got a lucky phone or maybe its Verizon's CDMA LTE network that is getting better results over other gs6s but I'm kepping things apples to apples and I set my gs6 up the same exact way I run my gs5 and it has matched or slightly beaten it in battery life the way I use the phones.

My results are from someone that actually owned and used an s5 and now have the s6 to compare to.not some baised poster that says his friends with Galaxy's all said they got terrible battery life.

I didn't say all reviews claim it's horrible but none are claiming exceptional either. The general consensus is average to poor. Heck, if you want to rely on anecdotal evidence only, more here are experience closer to what the OP claimed than what skratch is stating.

So to some degree, yes, you can discount what skratch is experiencing. What do you place more emphasis on, the majority or minority of cases?

And jamezr...long standby time is not indicative of good battery life. Let's see the SOT and other app usage for that charge cycle as well.

Skratch, your experience is no more valid than anyone else's. Just because he doesn't have screenshots to back it up, doesn't disqualify someone from understanding what good or bad battery usage is. Unless this is their first smartphone, I'm pretty sure they have enough common sense to understand whether their battery performance is better or worse than before.

I'm not claiming that you personally aren't getting good battery performance. But when you are in the minority, it's also fair to claim that what you're experiencing isn't the norm.

We all know how this works. Every time there a new phone released we get a ton of the sky is falling posts. Every one wants to be the first to post a problem. Then most only posts problems. Just look at the amount of problems posted in the iphone section. Should we assume from that that every one has those problems? From the reviews I have read most say the battery is adequate to last a whole day. My experience is it does that and more according to my usage.
My SOT is below from the last screenshots I posted. I did not do app usage. To me I don't care what apps I used as long as the battery lasts all day.

That's pretty decent indeed.

My only point though is how often someone comes on to say they had poor battery life and some members here jump on them as if they don't know what they're talking about. It's being pretty widely reported that battery life on the S6 models isn't exceptional. Go look over at the Android Central threads and the heaviest, most active traffic is found in a pair threads about battery life. Yes, it's not absolute, but the discussion about the issue is pretty pervasive around all tech sites and discussions. I listen to a handful of Android-centric podcasts and all have stated battery life is nothing get excited about and some have said its not good at all. And these are from people who are otherwise fans of the device, usually claiming 'best Samsunf device ever' or 'best Android smartphone available.'. I'm going to place more weight on these opinions than I am individual anecdotal claims made by forum members.

Understand...but forum members here are saying they are getting pretty good battery life and have the evidence to prove it.
I never discount what someone else posts about the battery life on the S6. I just post what my experiences are. Because in the end that is all i have to go by...what MY real world experience is with the phone.

Ok I will say some things about Android OS and iOS I'm not talking about the hardware design like Samsung S6 or LG G3. I find that iOS is kinds boring it gives me no freedom to customize. I find Android OS (right now I'm running Kit Kat 4.4.2) is interesting and have a better file manager of many apps very easy to access to other apps without have to open apps. But I noticed iOS apps are more stable than Android apps. It crashed most of the time. Also it has better multitasking than iOS. Widgets are so awesome on Kit Kat.
Anyway I can't leave Apple products because I love Apple ecosystem- iPhone 6+, MacBook Pro, iPad, and Apple Extreme Base Station. I hope someday Apple will have so much to catch up with Lillopop 5.0. I'm waiting for it to install on my other tablet. :apple:
