i don’t know, i love phone and it’s everything I’ve expected and more. I guess feeling a lil weird because I’m craving for something now, is the novelty gone? The chase is gone and I got the phone... what’s next? Now i can’t wait for the next iPhone release which is next year. . Anyone else feel the same way?
I sort of feel the same way. I'm waiting for the Sim-Free X, but I'm feeling unenthusiastic about it, because what I really want is the rumored X Plus.

The reason why: it's just a phone.

I'm not bored at all. I love it and will use it until next iPhone comes out.

Another older guy here. Yeah, but I seem to remember that if you dialed your own number and hung up fast enough, your phone would ring! It was great for weirding out family members.

Or party lines. Less of a party than the name would imply.

Anyway, to answer OP: you are bored, OP, because you are likely a terrible predictor of your own happiness. It’s okay, it happens to many of us. Substitute “winning the lottery” with “getting an iPhone X”:

“What we’ve been seeing in my lab, over and over again, is that people have an inability to predict what will make us happy — or unhappy. If you can’t tell which futures are better than others, it’s hard to find happiness. The truth is, bad things don’t affect us as profoundly as we expect them to. That’s true of good things, too. We adapt very quickly to either.

So the good news is that going blind is not going to make you as unhappy as you think it will. The bad news is that winning the lottery will not make you as happy as you expect.”

I returned mine went back to the 7plus much happier. The phone is real world didn’t feel faster at all despite the hoopla about the processor etc. plus I couldn’t get over the ugly notch I’m sorry but it was just rushed and they are trying to sell it to us like a cool feature. Samsung did a way better job on that but I won’t bother going into it. One week and it was just another smoothe iphone. But no better than my iPhone 7 Plus.

I got the X the first day and I'm still loving it. Learning different things everyday. I tell my friends don’t get a phone because it’s the hottest thing out and don’t even use majority of features and settings. You may want to go to the App Store and download some AR games, different camera filters that takes advantage of the true depth. Review your settings, change them to see what you like different reactions. (I used assitve touch as a home button for a week) There is plenty to keep you busy during your spare time if you have a life. In other words explore the phone more instead of the basic features, take advantage of the features that best suits your needs.

Try dropping it on the floor without a case and catching it in mid air

That should make the X more exciting :p
Hahaha no thank u

The notch doesn’t bother me at all. I prefer it even because it’s actually bezel less. Samsung has bezels... pshhh

Technology is an enabler not the destination.

When technology becomes the destination you become just a consumer.

If the X is not enabling you in a profound way over other iPhones then bordem is quick, normal, and expected.

If you want to keep the new tech thrill, get an android phone every other year.

The honeymoon is over. But the love will always be there :)

This is why I have so many phones period. I tend to get bored really easy unless it's a rooted android with a lot of dev support (Carriers are locking these phones down more and more, I'm not made of money to keep buying unlocked).

It's easier for some to get bored. I recommend having an android you can root and an iPhone. That will help you appreciate both and you won't feel as bored I'd think.

No, because there are many more worthwhile things to have life revolve around than a silly smartphone.

Smart phones are an amazing device that can do so much and they become extremely personal to us in our every day lives. But by no means will I allow it to justify my level of expectation when it comes to being bored or thrilled. It's just a phone that I replace annually.

My thoughts after 2 weeks changed quite a bit:

Pre X thoughts: Hate the Notch. FaceID will not be as good as TouchID. Will love the larger screen on a smaller form factor. Will love OLED.

First day thoughts: Don't mind the Notch. FaceID is awesome, I was wrong. The screen is crazy narrow compared to the Plus. OLED is yellow and dull.

2 weeks thoughts: I kinda like the notch. FaceID is slowing down. I've been having to enter my passcode more often. I've adjusted to the screen, and now my Plus feels crazy wide. OLED is ok, but still think my 7 Plus is whiter/brighter.

It's been a weird ride, and I ended up returning my X. I just couldn't justify the price for what did not feel like a significant upgrade from my 7 Plus.

I do miss the gestures like swipe up to go home, and the app switching slide. Hope they bring out an X Plus with a better screen.

I think the iPhone X is one of those phones where you really like it or you don't like it at all. And the transition from the LCD to OLED is something I think most are pleasantly surprised with, but Face ID seems to be the most intriguing part of the iPhone X, alongside the form factor. Altogether, it's a lot of money to spend for something that somebody is unsure if they want to keep, but I still think 2018 will be a huge year when they announce the iPhone X Plus with the 6.5 OLED display. It Just gives consumers more of an option for either the 5.8 or 6.5.

I like the X. I love the gestures. And may end up getting one some time down the road. But right now, I just couldn't justify the cost for all the flaws.

That's the weird thing: everyone I know, personally, has commented that the OLED screen is duller than the 7 Plus screen. I just don't know how every professional article and review raves about it. But to be fair, before I had it in hand, the screen looked gorgeous in preview hands on videos. Maybe that's why I was so disappointed in person. It just didn't live up to the hype.
