The gestures is a winner. I love it and I’m used to it. To the fact that when I use my 8 Plus I tend to swipe up to get to the home screen.. then I realized there is a home button haha.
[doublepost=1510920628][/doublepost]Anyways, I found a good article with Ive’s interview. He said that the iPhone X was full of complex challenges to develop and it really sets the phase for the next decade of Apple products. I knew this was a crazy tech to develop but Wow that makes me appreciate the technological advancement of this phone even more now.

I think I solved my problem. I got so used to the Plus size footprint that when I touch the X it feels weird. I can’t wait for the X Plus next year. That would really touch the spot.

Ok I can agree with this.
However, using an iPad 10.5 and 12.9 I have to say I appreciated the X and the gestures.
The home button feels antiquated and unproductive.

Dude I’ve mentioned from my other post that when I use my Plus I swipe up lol

i don’t know, i love phone and it’s everything I’ve expected and more. I guess feeling a lil weird because I’m craving for something now, is the novelty gone? The chase is gone and I got the phone... what’s next? Now i can’t wait for the next iPhone release which is next year. . Anyone else feel the same way?
Yup, same here. It's sad given that I paid $1000 for the device too. I actually purchased an Essential Phone new for $350 so I'm gonna return the X and play with that while saving $650 lol.

There was nothing earth shattering about the iPhone X which separates it from previous smart phones. Face ID is cool but I have not heard one person say "I really hate having to unlock my phone with Touch ID". The same when it came to bezels. Animojis are a novelty, fun to initially play with but soon become ho hum. Everything else about the iPhone X is the same as previous phones.

Not to say "I told you so," but there were a few of us who, in the run up to launch, offered gentle reminders that the mad rush for the iPhone X was perhaps less about the phone itself, and more about a feverish, consumer mindset to get one's hands on the "next big thing." Plenty of your cohorts were quick to dismiss this tiny voice of reason, and we were content to let them, understanding that a fool and his money are soon parted.

That said, I've no doubt that the iPhone X is a solid device, the inevitable quirks and bugs notwithstanding. So you decide whether you wish to keep it or not. Perhaps this experience, and little bit of introspection, will help you avoid falling into the same type of trap next time. Live and learn, I say. (And I'm not trying to sound patronizing here. Those of us who roll our eyes at feverish consumption can only do so because we've made the same mistake in the past.) ;)

I really hate having to unlock my iPad with Touch ID.

Lol! So let me ask you: Why?

If anything like me, it is because after using Face ID (and even the X gestures), I never want to go back to Touch ID. Unfortunately most of my iDevices have Touch ID.

Face ID works much better for me and I have had very few “fails” since Nov 3 and it in fact has gotten better at recognizing odd angles. Touch ID often failed/fails for me with wet hands, could/can’t be used with my touch sensitive gloves in the cold, etc. Face ID for really shines not just in the unlocking, but in apps, Apple Pay, etc.

To add to Divekitty’s reply.

It’s a progression.

We went from picking up the phone, looking at the phone, pushing a button then entering a pass code. We moved on to picking up the phone , placing the finger on a sensor then looking at the phone. Today, we pick up the phone and look at it.

Today we simply swipe nearly anywhere on the screen. Going back to yesterday, hit the button, less natural.

I loved the plus phones. The size was wearing on me though. The X reduced the form factor with nearly as much screen.

When are the new iPads being released?

There's your problem. The current version of 11.2 is in public beta and from what I understand is much more stable than 11.1.1. I recommend updating.
Cool. I know on iOS 11.1.1 is crashes randomly, causing the phone to kinda act weird. I just wish Apple did better with their software updates

If sleeping with attractive women can bore me after we both wake up from bed and start walking like a penguin :p, any phone with gesture swipes and Animoji will bore me.

I think it is in December

The phone makers are also getting desperate in an attempt to make us feel we need a new phone.

Animojis are a prime example.

Exactly. I'm looking forward to the keynote next year to see what gimmick Apple tries to force down our throats next.

I passed on the X for a few different reasons... the biggest being no Plus screen. I'm sure it will be available next year... but will I need a new phone next year?

Of course I won't.

Knowing your username, I would make a Game of Thrones joke here, but the last GoT joke got me suspended, so...

It's why I prefer to wait for videos like these...

^ Jaime really messed up his iPhone 7 Plus. Imagine his $1000 glass sandwich X that needs a case to cover up its beauty and will make it thicker, and Apple Care because of expensive repairs?

Oh lawd.

From asking everyone to boycot Apple Watch because your order was delayed to now being bored.

Looking forward to your next post.

For sure i got bored with mine. Its weird because when they announced it, it was the most excitement for an apple product since the iPhone 4 for me. Yet when i got within a couple hours i was like "we've peaked" and was immediately bored with it. I ended up returning it and sticking with another phone.

Sometimes that happens. Where you have such high expectations for something and you get really excited, then once you receive it, it doesn't end up being exactly what you thought it was. But I think that's why return periods are in place for customers. Not just for defects, it's for something that Didn't meet their expectations.
