I'm not playing along with the charade. Most people don't find the unicorn bedroom feminine? Where do you come up with that utter nonsense? Statement like that are a complete waste of everyone's time.

Like I said, feel free to be as disingenuous as you'd like. I'm done interacting with you.
You are accusing others of lying because they don’t share your opinions of what colors or decorations are feminine or masculine. Taken to its logical conclusion, you must therefore believe that everybody in the world agrees with you. A strange worldview to be sure.

Even the silver version, maybe because of the white bezels, is hard to imagine in a guy’s room or office.

I’m not opposed to color, but the particular colors chosen and the pastel-looking tone of the stands. It just veers pretty hard into the feminine lane.

Black bezels and a black Apple logo on the front might go a long way to improve the silver iMac to my macho manly eyes.
This is the best satire of all those clueless teenage boys that have no idea what being a man actually entails, who instead try to buy an affectation of "masculinity" with money, by going shopping and buying just the right beard, truck, phone, etc, and all turn themselves into the same ridiculous caricatures.

Masculinity isn't about accessorizing, is not defined by the disposable consumer products you buy, and sure as hell is not diminished by a vocabulary of more than two words, nor a color pallet of more than two shades of gray.

OMG you guys, @Robospungo is red-pilling us so hard right now! Thanks to his insightful and extremely pointful posts, I've now come right around to his view! What's really gratifying about it all is to know that he was also listening to the viewpoints of others all along the way, and yet still managed to win the day with his superior arguments. And the bedroom thing, a stroke of genius! BRAVO!

... Is that what you're after? Because I don't know wtf else you could possibly be after.

Good grief. Dude, grow up and consider that maybe, just maybe, you might not be "seeing through all the B.S." You might actually just be on the wrong side of this.

Yeah, I know, I know. You really really think they look feminine. GOT IT. HEARD!

The wrong side of what? LOL

Some of you have been positively driven berserk. And over what? A few people on a message board discussing the appearance of an iMac?! Really?

The histrionics and projection in this thread is unreal. The funniest part is the only people equating “feminine” with “bad” are you guys. It’s hysterical.

Also amusing how my completely subjective opinion has been “proven wrong”... with data, no less.

Bruh… you’ve got more fundamental questions to work through within yourself, dang.

That unique preferences of males and females are based in basic science and fundamental biology? Not that complex.

Females are more sensitive to color. Males are more sensitive to motion. Common science, easily substantiated. Thus, the respective stereotypes for color or action preference are based in our very building blocks.

Hm. Well, I'm not berzerk about it. I actually just find the whole thing risible.

That's not accurate. I think you're misunderstanding the fundamental thing that people are upset about, and that's what I think you're on the "wrong side of". To be fair, people are struggling to articulate it.

The underlying problem is, it's problematic to push the narrative that specific aesthetic preferences are representative of gender characteristics. This is how we end up with the entire "girls' toy aisle" being filled with everything pink, and the "boys' toy aisle" being filled with black and yellow trucks etc. These are cultural constructs. They are not fundamental underlying truths. You need only to look at the color preferences of people in non-Western cultures to verify this.

The fact that you made this post has upset people because you appear to be actively promoting the accuracy of your own viewpoint, and dismissing opinions to the contrary. This is how you end up with a society where, for example, a little boy who happens to like dolls or like wearing pink gets harassed by his peers for "looking like a girl". Can you see the connection? Do you think I'm making this phenomenon up?

If you think I'm making it up, then that's another thing that you're on the wrong side of.

Also amusing how my completely subjective opinion has been “proven wrong”... with data, no less.

I don't think it's possible to prove an opinion wrong. Unfortunately, that is exactly what you appear to be trying to do with the people who do not agree with you.

I have no doubt that you find the computers to look feminine. I also think the pink/unicorn/flower bedrooms look feminine. Does this mean they "look feminine"? No, it does not. It means that we have those opinions.

So what are you trying to achieve? What? You asked, in essence, if anybody agrees with you. Clearly you have your answer. "Some do, some do not."

Yes both of those has ample room for a threesome.

It just looks unfinished - why on earth did they leave the apple logo off the front ???????

With exception to its appearance on the Lombard/Pismo G3 PowerBooks and clamshell G3 iBooks, the Apple brand mark — the “” — has not appeared on the screen-facing/fore/front side of most portable or desktop Macs for the past twenty years. For a few years, even the MacBook Pros lacked the “MacBook Pro” inscription on the screen bezel.

Am I breaking the law, sir? Am I being detained?!

Funny how quickly you went from understanding your unearned privilege to appointing yourself the thought police.

"The exclamation mark, !, also sometimes referred to as the exclamation point, especially in American English, is a punctuation mark usually used after an interjection or exclamation to indicate strong feelings or high volume (shouting), or to show emphasis."

My quote was from the Oxford and Cambridge Dictionary, as it manages the language of English, from the location of where it was developed, I'll take the definition over a wikipedia article that can be edited by almost anyone.

You know if you want it more masculine all you need to do is spray paint it black and mount a little diesel engine on the back to spew out black smoke. Then you'll be able to enjoy the ambiance of toxic masculinity without even having to go outside and climb the ladder into your pickup truck.
* Emissions released by the “rolling coal iMac” edition does not meet Hg-free or PM2.5 compliance in the European Union or the State of California.

Make sure it’s hammer finish paint too. Just to drive home that it’s a manly tough computer.

Well...I'll just say that I wish they had done the colors darker for the front view. Red is great, but the salmon stand, white bezel, and salmon chin are not really red IMO.

I really don't know what to say about these colors. It's a bit shocking to me- certainly very bold. A big change from the space grey theme they had going.

I guess time will tell whether or not this will become the new thing. Remember iOS 7? Well, I guess it caught on because here we are today all using our iPhones with joy haha.

You keep repeating it, but that's not going to make it true. And the assumption that differences in color perception between males and females drive color preferences is certainly not supported by science.

This is such a goofy take. Do you not believe that Apple did research to minimize distractions and chose the light bezel for that reason? That was the discussion point they gave.
Looking at the “mock-up” earlier in this thread you can hardly see the white bezel (admittedly against a white background)
While the black sticks out like a sore thumb.

as someone who does work on a monitor, I welcome the thought of a lighter bezel, considering how bright screens are becoming.

and - explain what you dislike about the Ethernet solution please. I think it’s awesome.
No. I don't believe they did, at least not by pro-users, which I get is not the intended market for this model. Hopefully, the 27+ inch model gets black bezels. I, nor any pro I know, work in a room with white walls, so it's not going to blend in. White also reflects color and light, neither of which is good for color correction.

As far as ethernet goes, I get that they had to put the ethernet on the power brick because the iMac itself is too thin to have the port built-in (same reason they put the audio jack on the side), but I don't find it to be very convenient to have to crawl on the floor under my desk to access the connection.

I don't think these are marketed towards filming studios nor anything of the like that requires color correction at all.

I'm guessing, that as it's a desktop computer, they assume that once connected, it's unlikely to need to be accessible thereafter. As some will use Wifi, and with it hidden, it appeals aesthetically, if you are into that.

Wow. Look at what has this community become...

I agree with the OP btw, while I wouldn't name them as "feminine", they are most certainly looking annoying. My favorite colors are purple, blue and pink, but damn the new iMacs' colors are too light to appeal male customers.
