Let me caveat this post by saying that I'm not partial to any specific operating system, platform, manufacturer. I love technology and competition among the various platforms. I currently have the iPhone 6s Plus paired with my Apple Watch Sport and love both of them immensely. The new Samsung Galaxy devices were introduced at MWC yesterday and I watched the presentation and was pretty impressed with what Samsung did to its latest flagships. I'm curious as to what my fellow iPhone users think, or have an opinion of these devices.

I like the fact that the SD card combines with the internal storage to just make one giant pool of storage. That's pretty awesome.

I'm so far into the Apple ecosystem it would be very hard to give it up for something else.

5.1 screen / Water resistant / 4 GB of memory / Better Camera for low light situations / Additional memory card if one wants / Larger battery

What is not to like about the Galaxy. Edge with the 5.5 screen with even larger battery is another choice. Of course, you have to wait for ever for any updates.

I like what Samsung is doing with their new phones from a design and hardware perspective. What has always bothered me is their UI/OS modifications and how long it takes to get updates. Hopefully Google/Android will re-evaluate how they do that going forward.

The new phones (even the S6 series) did appeal to me, but I am locked in to the Apple ecosystem so much that its difficult to change to an Android phone - let alone a Galaxy.

I also wear my Apple Watch every day so its hard to part with that!

I'm happy with iOS and looking forward to the iPhone 7 Plus.

The s7 sounds really awesome. I however, have no desire to own it...can't wait to play around with this in the store, however.

I read that best buy will have it on display on Wednesday Feb 24th

I agree, their non-nexus phone updates do take forever. I doubt it will ever change...HTC would promise to have updates in 90 days or less, but who really buys an HTC these days?!?!

The S7 Edge is a real looker. I have never run Android and i don't think I could be bothered with the effort of switching.

Looks a great device though and would consider one.

It seems like a good idea in theory, but the fact is people try to then use the SD card as removable storage, which doesn't work.

And it's still Touchwiz so it's still garbage.

I always get the new Sammy phones and then revert back to the iPhone. Until Samsung can match Apple's aftermarket support in terms of OS updates and tech/warranty support there's no way I'll make it my primary phone.

Agreed about the aftermarket support.... Google was able to break away with the Nexus phones (Nexus protect, Google store, quick RMA process). It is crazy that you still have to deal with the carrier with Samsung. But I guess that is why the carriers love them :)

The water resistance is intriguing. But I'll never use anything other than stock android, or damn near stock. There was a time where rooting and custom Roms was a hobby of mine but that time has passed. I'll probably play with a display infant some point though.

That's a marshmallow option that samsung chose not to enable. It's a wise decision in my opinion. Too many problems from people used to removing them at will.

I actually wasn't that impressed with the S7, however I absolutely loved what LG did with the G5. I love technology and although I prefer iOS to Android, I do belive the latter to have some benefits, and I actually used Andorid for a couple of years.
I would love to give the G5 a try but I am not sure because I am completeley hooked by Apples ecosystem I use a Macbook, iPad Pro, iPhone, Watch, iCloud Drive etc. So I think I'll just have to wait for the iPhone 7, I hope they surprise me as I don't have big expectations for it.

TBH for the average consumer like my mother, brother, and a lot of my friends the latest iOS or Android updates don't mean crap to them features wise. As long as it works as they want which is Twitter, FB, Web browsing , and instagram it doesn't really matter if the device has iOS 9.2 whatever is the latest or Android 6.0.

Meh I never liked their design or the skin. IF i went back to Android I would go with Samsung.

Just slap Google now launcher and there is your Stock Android interface. I hate Nexus devices for the most part. mostly because of the hardware is bland and I do like Samsung features like multi window and the Samsung pay which is the best mobile wallet imo.

I'm working to hunker down in iOS once and for good but historically, I'm an habitual platform switcher. I've not been interested in Sammy devices for quite some time, preferring stock Android when I'm on that platform. I'll know more if I want to give the new Sammy devices a go after I check out MKBHD's impressions. He's my go-to tech reviewer.

I think I'd love a Samsung S7. But slap that big Verizon logo on the back and filter/deny Sammy's monthly security updates and it becomes the Verizon S7. I don't want a phone from a dumb pipe.

It's less about the interface and more about not having all the junk and bloat that Samsung puts on there. Perhaps it is better now than it once was but I just like a clean OS. It might be worth looking into. I hate to judge Samsung today based on what they were yesterday.
