Well TNT's online tracker is next to usless, have had to call them twice today to get an answer out of them.
As for being told it was going to get delivered to day, they really aint very good at telling where things are and how long it takes to get from one place to anouther.
Anyway there telling me it will be here tomorrow, we shall see. Think apple need to start using a better carrier.
Ah well rant over.

Quick question for all you UK MBP purchasers: when it arrives with the courier, is it just in the MBP box or is the whole thing packed inside an outer box along with any other stuff you've ordered?

Packed in an outer box in my case. But not with other stuff - that was packaged separately.

TNT have lost my MPB C2D. It sat in Shanghai for four days because the plane it was booked on was full. On Monday I was told that it was in France and on its way to the Luton depot. I phoned later and was told it was in Luton but would go out in the morning; but I could come and collect it instead (I only live about 30 mins away). However I was busy that evening, so I said I'd wait for delivery on Tuesday (today). Today I phoned and was told that it's in Belgium. I asked what was going on and TNT didn't seem to know. I got them to call me back, and I was told that they "thought" that it was in transit from Belgium to Luton; but they couldn't actually get a definite location on the laptop. So far it's been in transit from Belgium for the last nine hours. No one can actually tell me where it is. Perhaps its going to Luton by flying around the world in the opposite direction.

Well great this isn't looking too good for us British!

Can anyone tell me roughly how long it is after you receive the shipping notification before you start seeing the tracking info coming up?
Mine has been shipped on the 20th, but other than that there are no other details

Thanks
Ed

No way! Mine has been listed as "Shipped from originating depot" in Shanghai since the 19th. Its meant to be with me on the 23rd but the TNT site hasn't updated yet. I'm going to pop a vein ;)

My TNT tracking page currently reads:

20 Nov 2006 17:04 Arnhem Hub Consignment Received At Transit Point
20 Nov 2006 17:03 Arnhem Hub Consignment Passed Through Transit Point
20 Nov 2006 10:28 Amsterdam Consignment Received At Transit Point
17 Nov 2006 13:57 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot
16 Nov 2006 10:22 Shanghai Consignment Received At Transit Point
16 Nov 2006 10:01 Shanghai Consignment Picked Up

I ordered 17" CTO (200 Gb drive) on 4/11. Apple's tracker still says mine will be with me in Cambridge tomorrow (22nd), although I'm not hopeful as it hasn't moved from Arnhem since yesterday evening.

Anyway, hopefully this will give you guys a rough time frame for the delivery of your 17"ers.

tends to take 2 - 3 days for it to be dispatched

TNT are usless they niver seem to know where the packages are, should use initial city link or UPS-UK.

Mine doesn't show up at all on the British TNT tracking page, but on the Chinese page it shows up fine.

More TNT woes

Can i take part in the 'TNT Suckathon' too? I ordered my mbp on the 25th from the UK edu store and this is my current status:

20 Nov 2006 13:29 Arnhem Hub Consignment Received At Transit Point
16 Nov 2006 20:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay
16 Nov 2006 17:37 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot
16 Nov 2006 16:00 Pudong International Airport Potential Connection Delay
15 Nov 2006 12:09 Shanghai Consignment Received At Transit Point
15 Nov 2006 09:33 Shanghai Consignment Picked Up

I called TNT on Friday and was told "it's due for delivery on Monday". So i checked online Monday and, hey, it's STILL in China. I call again and am told, "it left Frankfurt Sunday at 5pm so it should be delivered today". Great, i thought. No, it didn't turn up yesterday, nor today and the online tracker says it's still in the Netherlands. I have a feeling that no one at TNT has the faintest idea where any of their packages are before they arrive on your doorstep.

Oh don't worry... mine was reportedly on a plane that took off from Shanghai, flew in a circle for 4 days, which then broken and landed in Shanghai, which then got on another plane, which ended up finally in the EDC...of course, i've still not got it yet!

Does anyone else agree that these shipping times really aren't good enough? When people pay big money for an expensive laptop they shouldn't have to wait a matter of weeks for it to be shipped to them. Some people here have waited over a month!!!
I'm really quite angry at the whole thing, it's just not good enough.

/end rant

I ordered a 17" C2D on the day they were announced and it arrived this morning. It was a long wait, but so far it seem to have been worth it. This a nice machine, much more polished than my previous 17" CD which was eventually returned due to quality issues.

Rang TNT. My MBP has left Belgium heading for the UK today so it'll be with me tomorrow \o/

Correction. TNT have told me 2 different things today. Firstly that Apple forgot some document so there was a delay for it coming into the UK. Its apparently in the UK now somewhere and could be with me tomorrow. They said they would raise a support request to find out more and call me back in an hour. An hour passed an no call so I rang them. A different person told me that there was some sort of error on their system and I was never meant to get it today. I'm meant to get it Mon/Tues. I asked them wtf went through Belgium with my ID then? They didn't know and said its possible it *is* in the UK. So they've also raised a support request, and told me that the other hadn't been done. If I don't hear from them in under an hour I'll call back again. Its pretty damn pathetic when I've got 3 people and a website telling me different things.

Update. 4th person telling me its left the Netherlands and I'll get it tomorrow.
