Yes that was a good deal. However, my college doesnt acually give student discounts on things like that, so I just did it from home. Worked out 1240 for basic, so wasnt to bad.

Just REALLY hope that the apple store get some in tomorrow or friday, as I would love to get one in my hands by the weekend.

Mine is still sitting at Arnhem Hub. I am hoping to get it tomorrow and that TNT tracking will say sometime tonight that it is in london.

Has anyone had experience with items from Arnhem Hub? ... how long to get from netherlands to london?

I got Arnhem Hub message yesterday afternoon ...and its still sitting there today ...

hopefully tomorrow will be here...

Mine was despatched on Monday, but the blessed tracking page has been saying "Carrier Tracking Number
In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly" since then and there is no information. The only thing that has changed on the page is that the expected delivery date went from 9th to 10th November

One other thing I noticed was that the money was taken from my credit card on the day I purchased (the 24th Oct), this is not very nice IMHO!

I ordered mine on Tuesday and received a despatched email yesterday. The bad part is, I ordered the HP printer alongside with the MBP .. my order status is now showing the same message as yours .. Do you think the delay is caused by the merged shipment?

I think it probably is as I ordered the airline magsafe adaptor and it says it will 'merge in transit'. Hey-ho my 15" PB is still working fine.

Did they charge your c.card last Tuesday too then?

I think we might all be in the same boat. My order was shipped yesterday, after being placed on 27th. I am getting the Applecare plan, and it does seem like that may be holding up the process as they are putting it together into 1 shipment, makes sense i suppose from their costs point of view.

Mine has not updated and given me the shipping number for UPS.

Yes it must have JUST shipped as I woke up and checked it. I checked it and it says "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" and then literally 2 minutes after I checked, I recived a text from apple. If only I had stayed in bed for another few minutes, I would have been woken up by the best news in the world from my phone hehe. I looked and I thought it was a mistake at first! Nearly fainted when I found it had been shipped!

By the way, does everyone use apple to check their shipment status, or the couriers website (In my case, TNT)? I would assume TNT is more accurate. I looked on the TNT website and it says consignment not found, so I guess its only just been shipped.

Hmmm, I am going to call them up abut this I think, that is not on really. In fact I think it is in breach of merchant agreement to take money prior to shipping...

I just called them and they said that, because my MBP was a custom build and not a standard unit they take the dosh upfront. Sounds fair enough I suppose... Oh well, I had to ask!

any stock in London? Do you think they will get them by the weekend?

My advice is ring them. I was going to ring the Apple store in bluewater today and see if they had any stock in, and if so, cancel my order online (which was origninally a backup order, incase no where had them by the weekend) but it seems as though I dont need to do that now!

Is yours a BTO machine or a stock configuration?

Did you pay for express shipping?

Mine was ordered prior to yours and you have an earlier ETA.

NOT FAIR!!!!

;)

Also, another question, if I wanted to upgrade the ram when I buy from an apple shop, will they do it for me there and then?

I REALLY hope they will have some in stock by saturday, or at least have mine shipped!

Yeah I think so - the dude at Regent St said that they do it for you, its only a couple of minutes job. but i think thats all they'll do.

As for delivery dates, I think nov 8 or 9 looks likely. Mine says the same, and I was hoping that that was a "worst case" date, but I think it might be pretty close. I asked to collect mine from a UPS depot, and apple said that UPS will know about it (may not have it tho) on Monday 6th.

But it looks like our MBP's have only just flown out of shanghai today....I dunno how long it takes to fly, but if it takes a couple of days to get here and transfer to distribution points, then it could well be monday before it hits the courier. So Tues or Wed may be the day afterall

Has anyone tried to use the 80xxxxxx number on the UPS site? Doesn't give me any info at all, or am I using the wrong thing?

I guess they can't track it until it hits their own systems, they probably don't even know about it yet. annoying!!

oh well, I'll just have to learn patience. But if my MBP doesn't come soon, I'm worried the novelty will wear off :D :D :D

The 80xxxxxxxx number is only useful for tracking your package via appletrack (or the TNT website if it's coming all the way with them). Once UPS get theirs hands on it you will probably get a new tracking number beginning 1Z (replacing any that you might already have) that will work with them.

I'm still waiting for my 2.16Ghz stock MBP here, last I heard (via appletrack) it had departed the European distribution centre on Tuesday, I'm hoping that I will be able to track via UPS later today and possibly get it tomorrow if I'm really lucky.

Merge in transit, is SLOW!

you only get the UPS tracking when it hits England.

If you have ordered something else, you will be waiting for all your items to meet up so they can be shipped together. Thats merge in transit.

Yeah - I have a 1z number for the other 2 parts of my shipment (applecare and mighty mouse), but that doesn't show on UPS either. maybe I just have to wait until it all gets consolidated into 1 shipment. but glad to know which number i'm meant to use, cheers.
