I can’t upgrade even if I wanted, if all of them are to have OLED screens as predicted it rules me out as they give me eye strain and migraines due to PWM.

However if the rumour about 2021’s iPhones come true then it might be an upgrade path for us who suffer from PWM as supposedly the series 5 Apple Watch uses an LTPO OLED which doesn’t use PWM and the 2021 iPhones are meant to come with the same screen tech.

I have an Xs. I won’t be upgrading until it’s frustratingly slow in the apps I use or the latest OS isn’t supported. Before this I had a 6+, before that was a 5, before that a 4, before that the original iPhone.

Still rocking a 6S Plus here lol

Was considering an upgrade finally, but now back to the sideline again due to 120Hz / ProMotion uncertainty

At this time of year, I keep thinking that I'll pass on the upgrade, but as long as Apple keeps improving the camera, then I'll keep trading up via the upgrade plan. My guess is that they will improve the ultra wide-angle capabilities to enable Deep Fusion mode - which will probably be enough to get me to stand in line for the new one.

It is, however, getting to the point where meaningful improvements in the photos are getting less and less. 11 Pro is better than my XS in some low-light situations but it takes a bit of pixel-peeping to really tell them apart if I don't use the ultra wide-angle.

It's sad that the 12 is shaping up to be another skip. I want something small (bezels make SE 2020 too large), with touch ID, and a large battery.

If they put touch ID on the back, I'd be ready to take the plunge but it looks like another year with my 5SE...
Yea full screen with Touch ID in screen or on side or back would be an instabuy for me also

Traded in my XR for an 11 because I wanted more storage. Would consider an upgrade this year if the 12 captures my attention but I’m happy with my 11.

I am perfectly happy with my XR. I won’t be upgrading this year. Possibly not even next year either. I think it would take something really dramatic and amazing to sway me, and I don’t think anything in the pipeline is going to be dramatic and amazing anytime soon.

I have a XSmax. Battery health 88% (feels worse). Connectivity is poor (unless coincidentally WiFi is bad every single place I go). Seriously the worst iPhone on WiFi I’ve ever had. Sometimes it is janky on LTE. I will almost certainly get a new one for better connectivity.

I'm good with my 11, but the kids are needing some upgrades and I'm the "mean" dad that doesn't give their kids brand new phones... LOL! So, my wife and I will be gettin new phones for us and playing the hand me down game to the kids. I'm hoping to get the 12 Pro Max and my wife will probably be happy with the 12. We will see what happens after they announce the new lineup.

Very likely to upgrade from my iPhone 6 this year.

I had the 4, 4S, 5 and then the 6. Since then I’ve been really happy with this phone, but it’s finally slowed to the point where it’s somewhat painful to use now.

After seeing the USB C port go onto iPad Pro, I said I would wait for them to put one on an iPhone before I upgrade, but realistically I don’t think I can wait any more for something which they just may never do.

I have an iPhone XS 256 which just got fully replaced today on AppleCare... keeping it for at least a year, hopefully longer.

I might just continue to hold - iPhone X has been bomb proof - I want to see all the new watch offers (still have yet to purchase one). This might be the year I go for the watch instead.

I’m still on my iPhone X. It runs smoothly, even on the latest ios14 beta, and I see no reason to upgrade. I see myself using it until it is noticeably slow or Apple gets rid of the notch.

XS Max, 64 GB bought June of last year. I was going to buy the 2020 iPhone, but I decided to wait for next year’s iPhone, since mine is still going strong. In addition to that, I wanted to pre-order the PS5 and save up for a new MacBook Pro for college (Autocad).

I have upgraded phones every year since 2015. During a rough time in my personal life, I took a day trip out of state to take photos back in 2016 and ended up at an art museum that become one of my favorite places to visit. I turned it into a tradition each year by taking off a day from work, picking up the largest storage space version of the larger screen model new phone on launch day, and going to the museum to test out the new camera.

This year, however, I am seriously considering not upgrading from the 11 Pro Max. Yes the pandemic plays a role, but also I don’t like the idea of the rumored main selling point being 5G internet speeds when I am stuck living and working at home with WiFi for the foreseeable future. I keep the phone in a battery case, so I don’t really care about the way the sides look, and I don’t like having to choose between buying a temporary case or waiting for the next gen Apple battery case to come out a month later. I am curious about the rumored larger screen size, but I don’t think it is enough to sway me.

Currently use an iPhone 7 Plus which I got a battery replacement for last year so will continue with this until I can no longer upgrade to the latest version of iOS. iOS 14 supported so good for another year.
