I watched the wwdc 2014 again and craig said:and you can get access to yosemite betas this sommer!

Yes that is a very good piece of evidence----we should be receiving multiple betas this summer, not just one. So if there is to be a few betas, it would make sense for Apple to start now, hopefully today with DP4.

----------

It's almost 11 AM and I haven't gotten anything yet.
If you look at the previous DP releases, the MacRumors news articles announcing their release were posted around 1 PM. And I remember iOS 7 was released around noon ET. I believe Apple usually releases betas at around 10 AM their time. So I think if we are going to see it today it will be around noon our time, or maybe even later in the afternoon.

So we might even see the beta arrive at 6PM GMT! Wow, I'm super excited now!! Please let this be!

Okay, so Apple just released iOS 8 beta 4 and DP4. DP4 is believed to be a BP1 candidate and so we might see BP1 in about a week after DP4 has been tested for any obvious bugs.

At least it might come within the next week.

"later this month"

According to 9to5Mac, the public beta is set for release "later this month." Since it's already the 21st, and there is only one Monday left in the month, and Monday is when Apple usually releases betas, I would think this points to a July 28th release. Hopefully it wont get pushed back to early August, which the article stated is possible because of the uncertain nature of development. At least we have some decent info on when we'll get this public beta.

1PM Eastern? Where does it say that the email will come at 1PM ET?

I'm not 100% sure, but based on previous DP releases, and even releases of iOS, it seems that :apple: releases them at 10 PM PST. So that translates to 1 PM ET.

It should start appearing in peoples App stores in about 4 hours given when Apple usually rolls out its updates.

So no notice otherwise, just appears in the app store if accepted and that's it? Also, I wonder if it will be the same as DP4 or something different?

It usually comes up as an App Store update and is delivered via Akami, you will get a notice in your App Store to download it.

I don't think the 1million users thing is anything to get stressed out about, anyone who has signed up will get it.

Why must everyone post using obscure time zones? Just say GMT then it's easy for everyone to + or - to their respective time zones, rather than going from EST to GMT to whatever time zone they are in.

Still waiting, 4pm here! I imagine their servers are going to be absolutely creamed come launch.

We're in BST (GMT+1) over here so it's 3pm GMT. ;)

But yeah, I'm not looking forward to seeing my "estimated time remaining"
