Why don’t you just move that single folder to the last home page (where the App Library is now). Don’t see the difference apart from the App Library is far more prominent.
There was a limit to how many icons you can have in a folder. The App Library is so much better - I really don’t understand why they haven’t done it for iPadOS though.

got my iPhone All clean and organised, but still have all the icons on the iPad. Hopefully they’ll bring it to the iPad soon.

I hope they don’t. This would be like Microsoft and Apple deciding they don’t care about your workflow, then configuring your computer desktop how they see fit, then locking it down. People would lose their minds.

The phone setup is bad enough. Heck I have empty unnecessary folders. It makes no sense thst this isn’t optional.

Except it's not changing what you already have and use and not locking it down.

Why are you spending your day in a thread you disagree with? What is the point?

Someone dislikes something so you are going to spend your time telling them they are wrong? Everyone that agrees with the post is just going to click ignore after a couple of your posts anyways.

I'm not commenting on what someone likes or dislikes, or telling anyone what is good or isn't good for them, simply on what's there how it works.

I personally don't care for the App Library and don't use it while I continue using my device basically as I did before.

Luckily software is always evolving and/or changing. It’s never stagnant. Im sure if enough people find the app library useless or an annoyance they will change the experience of it or give people a choice to disable it

I'm not a fan of the App Library either. Have it just like the rest of you.
It is unnecessary and it seems more messy. For that reason, I will stay on iOS 13.7 until Apple comes up with the option of disabling the App Library

Just in case there's some confusion, the App Library doesn't change or replace anything that you already have and use. It's just an extra screen to the right of your home screen(s) which basically doesn't need to be used.
Yep, not a fan of the App Library. The first thing I've looked for is how to disable it but nothing. Just give us an option to toggle it on/off.
Hopefully an option for that will exist at some point. That said, seeing how the today/widget screen (to the left of the home screen) has been treated over all the years it seems like it might just be there simply for use of those who might want to make use of it.

I can understand people not liking it, but its not intrusive so I don't understand what the big deal. If you don't scroll that far right you'll never know its there? You would have to go past whatever you're looking for to even get there...

That’s what kinda confuses me. People are looking To disable it but you just simply don’t need to swipe right to the end or interact With it. Is it simply just knowing that it’s there, somewhere, that’s bothering them? OCD?

I know. Also tried a Public Beta right when it came out. But do not like it. It seems like a messy version of spotlight.

I LOVE that I am now able to disable automatically adding new app icons to the home screen.
But they are automatically added to the Home Screen. They’re just added to the furthest right page, which is now called the App Library. It’s still the Home Screen. It still has app icons in a grid. It’s just a page of the home screen that you have no control over and that duplicates other pages.

I don’t have other pages. Nothing is duplicated.

It doesn't duplicate other pages if you hide them or remove the app from the home screen. It's also an unlimited page and much easier imo to scroll through apps vertically than having to swipe through multiple pages within folders.

It's similar in that respect to the Today View which is there (and has been there for years) to the left of the main/first home page whether or not you make use of widgets.

All these people banging on about how much they hate it, useless and worst still, you can’t turn it off!!!

The simple solution is........... don’t use it.

It is after your last page of apps, just use folders and the home screens as you always have and it’s like nothing has changed.

You don’t have to swipe over to it, stop creating problems that don’t actually exist.

Ok, so you’re wiling to allow Apple to completely handle your organization. Glad that works for you. It does not work for me because the App Library organization is totally illogical.

Great, so as long as I’m willing to surrender completely to Apple’s near-arbitrary way of categorizing my apps, and abandon my own system, which actually makes sense, then I won’t have duplicates! Yeah... not a great answer.

Again, there are plenty of other aspects of the OS that can be turned off by users who don’t want them. Apple could always tell users “just don’t use Siri,” but they allow the option to turn it off entirely. Why should that not be available here? It annoys me to have a junk screen with random organization and duplicates of everything. I want it gone. Is that really so hard to understand?

You don't have to abandon your system and can keep on using it like before.

Well, there aren't options like that for the Today View which has similarly been there as part of the home screen rotation for years. That's not to say that an option wouldn't be useful, but it is to day that for something like that it seems that Apple doesn't see it as something that can be disabled (similar to the Today View, Notification Center, and Control Center when it comes to what's accessible while you are on your home screen).

I can't say I like this new feature, if it works for some, great ... I have my own organization and if I were to get a feature to further customize what I want, I'd be trying it ... at this point App Library doesn't do anything for me (yet)

And if I do then I have a junk page of duplicates, poorly organized. Again, I don’t want that.
You have one extra screen at the far end of your home screens that you don't have to use (similar to how you have Today View on the left side of the home screen that you don't have to use if you don't make use of widgets). It doesn't affect the home screens you have or how you use them as you can continue using everything basically as you did before.

You’ve now made that point about 10 times. We get it. Some of us still don’t want it a junk page of poorly organized duplicates.
