I would not worry about the e-mail. The e-mail I received is the same exact photo of what you posted. If you already got pre-approved, stop sweating over it.

That’s the one I see on Apple store Apple I called Apple and Citzen.

Apple says there delay and Citzen says I got approved.

I got a message from the Apple Store on the phone. Not an email. I also called on Monday and made my 12th payment to ensure eligibility.
I called Citzen twice and I was approved

I went on Apple Store app and got pre-approved as soon as the store came back online.
now just waiting to pre-order my XS Max. :)

Thought it would be easy again this year, but it's not looking like it. It says my phone isn't even part of the upgrade program, but it is, haha. I did get it swapped under AppleCare+ once, so they must've not registered the new phone's SN in the system. On hold with Apple now. Anyone else ever notice this after an AppleCare+ swap during the year?

I opened up a thread for the same issue and turned out that it wasn't just me. My case has been resolved thanks to many ppl who got contacted apple for the same matter and you may as well call them during tomorrow before the pre-order goes online!

Sadly only iPhone users can use this program. Won't allow me to sign up on an iPad and I use a Samsung phone. The message states only available via the app store on an iPhone. Weak.

you can't get a pre-approval unless you already have an active iUP loan. Or you have to wait it to go on sale and sign up for a new iUP account.

Bummer. Thanks for that info. Stuck on a huge down payment again with tmobile JOD for another year haha.

No you don't have to call Citizen Ones to make an extra payment. This can all be done at check out. It will just tack on the amount you owe currently at check out. That's what happened to me last year when I upgrade from 7 Plus to 8 Plus, as I enrolled in October 2016. At the check out for my pre-order, the last payment was added to the cart.

Ok, yes, it can be done with Apple at check out, that’s true. I was only saying that if they wanted to make an additional payment with Citizens One that their website doesn’t allow it: I had to call them.

Considering having this cycle be my first time with the Apple upgrade program.

I bought my previous iPhone outright - off contract. I don’t have to trade it in right? I’d just start as a new iPhone upgrade program with a new phone and keep my previous - fully paid for device.

Correct, since your previous phone isn't tied to anything.

Thanks. Sorry - wasn’t entirely clear on the Apple information site. In retrospect a silly question on my part. Considering the cost is the same and I get Apple care anyway - and enjoy upgrading every 1-2 years this seems like a good deal for me.

Question for anyone who did this last year - I was preapproved but want to change from 256 to 512. Do I need to go through the approval process again on Friday at 3am or will I just be able to swap the phone in my bag to checkout?

Naw...I’m not on the iUP program and I got pre-approved. You do need an iPhone since it doesn’t work on iPad.

Unless I'm missing something, I'm not sure this is true. My wife went through the process and was pre-approved and she is not currently in the iUP.

my bad. you are correct. I did try it again on my iPhone as a buying a new phone and sure it let me get through the pre-approval process.

It works, only on iPhone.

Yes, you can. I just got approved for the first time. Tried the first year and was denied. Just got instant approval. Soooo.

I was doing the Upgrade Program pre-approval on my ipad and then on my Mac after receiving the email. Apparently it has to be done on the iphone as it worked smoothly on the phone but would not get past the point of saying I needed to upgrade the Apple Store app but it took me to a "dead end".

Sadly the some that’s didn’t get an email from Apple will see this on the Apple store app

Does anyone know how they determine the date that your contract starts? Trying to figure out which credit card to use and am trying to utilize one that cuts right before the monthly charge would be applied. Thanks in advance.

Just to confirm - if I’m upgrading after owning the iPhone X for a year on the program, it will not do a hard credit check?
