It seems like "no rise in price for the Pro" was only in the US. I don't remember the 14 and 13 Pros starting at 1449CAD in Canada, can someone with a better memory fact check me?

Tech companies release updates with an article, marketing campaign or something like that. Keynotes exist because Steve & Co. used to change the world on them. At this point Apple should understand that and forget about upgrade keynotes.

I wish regular models had Pro Motion. I have a 13PM and thinking about getting a 15 Plus, but I think I’ll miss Pro Motion
yeah true, but the weight! thats what I dont like, so the camera on the 15 plus will be as good as the camera on the 14 pro?

They explicitly mentioned 3nm, a completely new micro architecture (that’s big news even in its own), and a completely new GPU architecture, hardware Ray Tracing, etc.

I don’t know how you missed all that, but without that knowledge I can see how it would appear underwhelming. I for one am not in the market for a new phone, but these changes mean BIG things for the Macs…
I heard about the ray tracing, but had the presentation on captions as I was on another meeting and missed the 3nm. Oddly, it isn't mentioned on the website. I was expecting a bit more than a 10% CPU boost, since the M1 to M2 tracked the A15 to A16.

This is literally the lamest iPhone pro model ever released. Hardly any updates. So underwhelming.
I respectfully disagree. They updated The processor and U1 chip. They updated the QUALCOMM modem. They updated the Wi-Fi. They changed the stainless steel band to titanium for lightness. no longer any sharp corners but instead rounded edges, better feel in the hand. They added an action button that could be mapped to different uses. They updated the regular camera and telephoto lens. And they finally ditched their proprietary lightning for USB-C with faster data transfers.

for some people like you, it’s never enough.

180mm or higher is a bit too much for portraits, which is what they showed off the most. 85mm-135mm are classic focal lengths for prime lens portraits. 120mm is a good call.
120 is a terrific and useful length...but...150 mm was rumored and this article states 180 mm which is great length for some sports and close-in wildlife.

I skipped the 14 Pro and still use my 13 Pro bought the day it was released. I had assumed that I would upgrade to the 15 on release but I'm a bit nonplussed by it. A better camera certainly couldn't hurt but it doesn't look like it will be a massively different experience. Kind of on the fence and looking for some encouragement as to why I would be better off upgrading.

Those of you who were thinking we'd see a big increase in battery life with 3nm: Are you disappointed? I have to say this one kind of surprised me. I really thought we'd see a huge increase in battery life here, but according to Apple, same battery life YoY.

I’m think ahead to next year’s iPhone 16 Pro and I’m hoping the stacked battery tech will bring a improvement in battery life that unfortunately wasn’t in the cards for the 15 Pro/Pro Max this year. So basically the 15 Pro/Pro Max has the same or similar battery life to the 14 Pro/Pro Max. Really disappointing for those 13 Pro owners out there who thought they were going to get better battery life than the worse 14 Pro/Pro Max when they upgrade to the 15 Pro/Pro Max.

The devices have matured enough that annual upgrades being must haves are long gone. I’m coming from a 12 Pro though and for me this looks enticing.
Exactly. The only people who seem to be disappointed every year are the ones looking for a reason to upgrade from the previous year's model. While there's nothing inherently wrong with upgrading yearly, the expectation of a vastly different user experience in less than a year's time, is what needs to change.

I thought the most exciting part of the demo was when “Jaws” was asked to take over the presentation. I immediately got my hopes up that the big chap with the metal teeth from Moonraker would be showing us how strong titanium can be. Sadly, no attempt at crushing the phone was forthcomin.

So dumb it’s factually correct. Predictable Apple apologist reaction of the day.
No, the post responded to:
"So it’s not an entirely solid Titanium chassis, cheaped out on in the inside with Alumium so it’s basically a Titainum [sic] veneer!"

was not factually correct, and it remains the dumbest post here today:
A) No "solid Titanium" is used. A Titanium alloy is used which behaves very differently than solid Titanium would.
B) It is not "basically a Titainum [sic] veneer." The Titanium alloy is a structural framework, sort of like a unibody construction in an automobile. The exact opposite of a veneer.
C) Aluminum interior componentry is good use of material science in product design to optimize the product, not "cheaped out on in the inside."
