36? Damn there's like 10 models before that!It will be VERY interesting to see how Samsung prices the Galaxy A36 if they decide to make it available for the US market. That could be a very compelling alternative to the iPhone 16e.

This isn't a flagship product. No need for a fancy launch. Not a good launch, totally out of touch.
Either that is one of those products to show up discounted everywhere
I don’t remember Apple advertising any product as budget. This is a description attached by others. Consumers who are truly seeking budget devices will never consider new iPhones.600$ for a “budget” phone….
Get real
expensiveWhat does the "e" even mean?
With a 6.1" OLED screen and an A18 chip, why would any have gotten a regular 16 if it was 500?Tim Apple needs to be harder trying to penetrate the budget phone market. If I was buying a new iPhone, idgaf about specs. $599 is high price point.
Someone already mentioned it 16 E(mbarrassing). Apple surely depends on its loyal fanbase with this because it won’t attract any newcomers to the platform. On naming ...
I guess 16e does roll off the tongue better than 16 RipOff
Bro not only that the camera sucks : no 0.5 like iPhone 14, no action mode, no video cinematic mode…Price and no MagSafe kill this for me.
Ah well, I’ll get a new (non-Apple) battery for my trusty 12mini and hope that Apple come up with something better in 2-3 years time!
Or migrate to Android and the Google Pixel family, so much more and better hardware and software for the money.
And don't forget screen size. That alone is worth most of the price increase. If the SE 3 had a starting price of $429 USD in 2022, then that would be about $465 USD in 2025 due to inflation.
Does the increase in storage, USB-C, Apple Intelligence, better battery life, etc. warrant a $134 increase?
No magsafe seems like a huge miss. That's a deal breaker for me. I am surprised Apple left this out. I wonder if it was do to cost, or manufacturing/space issues.
If you have come to depend on MagSafe, you're not the target demographic, I think. Apple will announce your next phone in September.I like what they are trying to do here, but no mag safe or promotion is not something I can consider in 2025.
Some people, not me, like that small size though. I do prefer the normal pro over the pro max though. There is a sweet spot for a phone. And don't forget screen size. That alone is worth most of the price increase.
The SE 3 always was a bad deal IMO. It was cheap, but it sucked.
Or ask the carrier if they could switch it to a galaxy A series with better everything 🤭Will not happen
Not how Tim rolls
This is the new first party "entry price" - permanently
Folks should only get this phone on a major discount from a carrier or 3rd party
Apple really hates red now, for some reason. Red was a nice option for the SE, as well as for the Product(RED) line. I wonder why they've dropped red from their products.
The only price Tim Apple cares about is AAPL stock price not customer retail price.Mr. Cook. Remember the three P’s: Price price and price.📱
Worst part about this phone is that time people can’t afford any iPhone now. It’s the most mid phone we’ve ever made! If you’re broke, we think you’ll love it!
Are you in Canada? Cuz that $899 is misleading for non-Canadian readers. It's US$599.View attachment 2483882
This spells the end of iPhone SE, we can waive goodbye for cheap affordable iPhone. $899 for a budget devices is delusional at best, especially in this economical environment. A Mac mini M4 that does do much more than a phone cost $100 less than this.
Especially given this phone with brand new Apple modem, this should be a lot cheaper than $899. We will see how new Apple modem compare with Qualcomm one, but I am not confident Apple's new modem.
The problem for Apple is you are by far in the minority. Very few people want small phones. Not even kids. The kids only get the SE because the parents force it on them. Some people, not me, like that small size though. I do prefer the normal pro over the pro max though. There is a sweet spot for a phone.
Also cannablize their sales of the regular 16.The only price Tim Apple cares about is stock price not retail price.
Agree that if they'd aggressively priced this as per the last SE, it would negate the vast majority of eye rolls and thumbs down.
