It’s enough for an additional row of half-height keys and a larger trackpad. How much space do you think they got from that? That's not enough for anything.

Apple do love their white. Weirdly, I bet they'd sell a boat load of accessories the week they finally offer everything in black! They look nice and sleek here.

But massive faux pax not using black key caps on the silver IMO - looks pretty **** to me:

Just like with the previous one, the MK is not compatible with protective cases. Can I use the magic keyboard in drawing mode, or simply take off my $1,699 iPad from its protective case to draw directly on it? After all, drawing is my primary purpose of this fancy gadget.

When I lived in China all the knock off crap was white too... more likely a white thing wasn't Apple. The iPod was white (ignoring the latter black models) because Apple wanted it to be seen in a crowd, in a big room or on the street. This strategy has continued for all their smaller accessories including the Pencil. They want it to stand out in a room full of students.

Yeah, that's why everyone copied Apple, making white so ubiquitous is stopped standing out in a good way
I spend all day typing. I've owned multiple nice mechanical keyboards. Some folks such as yourself (and you're a very tiny minority) see the need for a $300 keyboard. Most of us don't. The keyboard on my HP work laptop works just fine and feels good enough. You have no idea what you are talking about. Yes, you can get an ok keyboard for < $100 but those of us who spend all day typing spend a lot more than that on a keyboard. Just the shell of mine (no key caps or switches) was $100. Once everything was said and done it was closer to $300 and I have a keyboard that will last me many years and functions the way I need it to.
Not sure how good this keyboard is but I am sure there will be people who see a benefit to its design.
B-but 1300 streams of ProResRawRes!!The people arguing that a good keyboard costs some dollar know exactly that no one in their right mind would spend that dollar on an Apple keyboard.
And no, you cannot do the same stuff on this hamstrung tablet OS that you can do on a mature desktop OS. Starts by not getting to choose your software but have Apple choose it for you. And an absolute POS if you want to do serious software engineering.
Including the bigger Air model? The 13" Air uses same as 12.9" IPP? I know we're talking about minor differences, but you know Apple... iPhone XS couldn't use the iPhone X cases because you know, .01mm camera cut-out differences.Yes, only the old ones.
Is the data not the keyboard inputs?First time with one of these keyboards. What do they mean by this? I didn’t think data was possible.

This will be the question for many… should you get a MacBook and iPad mini… where both do better separately at productivity and consumption… and your arms dont ache… or get the iPad Pro
It really depends on what youre using it for. If your using Apple Pencil alot and the software you need is on iPad and it works well.. then its a really good option.
Thats why its critical the make more improvements to iPad OS… as for anyone else… its the OS that holds it back.
And, by the way, the 13” iPad Air is really still just 12.9”. Apple decided to round the numbers now for some reason.Including the bigger Air model? The 13" Air uses same as 12.9" IPP?

For Christ, twenty years on these forums I've never really bought the Apple is overpriced meme. Their high end laptops have always cost about what other high end laptops do. The expensive cables are also the same, whenever they cut a floppy drive or charger from a box, or a headphone jack, their biggest competitors always follow suit within a year, it's just so much noise. I mean, they charge what they can get away with like any company, and don't prioritize a low end. The prices aren't really surprising most of the time.
Occasionally they get it wrong, like famously cutting the original iPhone price.
But are they possibly serious with this? $300? I'm that kind of nerd with a fancy mechanical keyboard. It is very niche will last fifty plus years, literally, and still wasn't *that* expensive.
I would think something like $179 tops.
Actually yeah . . . you are dead on, mostly away for a bit more than four years. Which I acknowledge is a big part of it, but still, literally shocked. I used to use almost all Apple everything, but they lost me when the mac went touch bar and for the last ~ten years I've had Macs at work, but have only bought myself iPhones and Apple TVs, and use Linux for everything else. The previous Magic Keyboard cost the same. Where have you been the last 4 years?
Although I do agree it’s overpriced.
I think they keyboard data goes across the connector on the back of the iPad, I don't think this is USB-C data.First time with one of these keyboards. What do they mean by this? I didn’t think data was possible.
