I now have a pretty fantastic resume, if I do say so myself. Now, Apple, come and get me! :D

Happy for everyone receiving calls and interviews!

Awesome me too! I'm totally Apple fangirl-ing about this applying for this job, I applied for like 3 positions, two phone in my area and one chat in another state (my home state is Hawaii,so I suppose that's the closest to us). I really hope get a call back, but some other job postings were back in like September...odd...

Well.. Heres an update. I didnt land the job at Apple for the advisor position (go back like 2 pages to hear my story). I really think my Apple interviewer was having a bad day when I did my interview through Apple, I am soooo good at customer service and tech support thanks to Best Buy. Xerox is hiring at home advisors for Apple (just started I was told). The pay is $13 and it is full time. I landed the job so easily in one interview when there are supposed to be 2-3. I was told I will be getting paperwork and receiving an iMac to work on. Oh well, at least its a foot in the door.. ;) yay

I too was rejected by apple but I have an interview with xerox in a few days. could you give me some examples of what questions they asked you? Thanks!

Its crazy easy.. I was actually passed along through 3 interviews in 2 days (even though the first lady said I was good to go). The interview process is JUST like Apple.. The first interview was just stupid easy, they ask you about your office area, basic background info. They will then ask about your technical knowledge and how good you are with customers (no role play questions).

2nd interview was role play questions such as "I am a student and my iPad is not printing my homework to the wireless printer".

Answer: do NOT talk about fixing the printer, instant fail.. Talk about checking the wifi connection on the iPad, restart device, reset network settings.. They dont want to hear you say anything about the printer.. The recruiter will check for empathy, be sure to show it.

There was also the honeymoon question, screen was cracked.. I talked about apple care and she was so happy about that.

3rd interview: apple manager.. She was awesome and this consisted of more role play questions and was more in detail .. they will ask you to tell them some new knowledge you learned from researching Apple products (your second interviewer will tell you to research about products, do it!!). They also quiz you on "so how long is the training". To see if you pay attention to detail.. Its a nice process (thorough). But just show off your customer service skills and basic tech support knowledge. You will get it:)

I just applied to Xerox and that assessment was no joke. This holiday weekend of not hearing back from Apple is going to drive me bonkers.

hey was just going through the apple job board again and noticed a job that was AppleCare at home advisor-Customer Relations. What's the difference between this one and the one I'm guessing most are talking about on this board?? Has anyone applied to this one too

The difference I see is that the customer relations seems focused on returns, exchanges and servicing.

Just FYI the descriptions state that the job location in the ad doesn't matter. Applicants can apply to any location regardless of where they live:

This is a work from home position and we can consider candidates from cities across the US - you do not need to live in the city this is posted in to be considered.

I do both of these in my current position (troubleshoot Apple devices, as well as handle billing and account inquiries) I'm just going to apply to them all.

I have been applying like mad to so many jobs this weekend, but I'm praying for an Apple call this week. Once you start looking around, you truly realize how great Apple is when it comes to their benefits, hours, etc.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!

Still waiting on a decision from Apple after my third interview. Is it too much to expect a call with today being Memorial Day? I guess if I don't hear anything by Wednesday at the latest...

In any case, I had to shoot an email to my recruiter clarifying what I told my third interviewer about my religious meetings cutting into training sessions. I think I may have led the interviewer to believe that I needed to leave 30 minutes before the end of every class but the truth is I only need to do so once a week. I'm just hoping I wasn't too late and that it didn't negatively affect my chances. :(

Probably not today. Wait, wasn't it just Friday afternoon? I think it's normal to want that concrete answer asap, but sometimes recruiters might take an extra day off on a holiday week, and we know there's no consistent response time. I hope it's Wed. for you too.

A follow up email is also a good idea to say thanks, great to learn more about the position, and how excited you would be to join the team, etc., etc.

Yeah I'm going to try to keep myself busy these next few days otherwise I'll be wasting away obsessing over a callback. I also made sure to thank my recruiter for the opportunity and that I look forward to hearing back from her soon. Fingers crossed!

Greetings, friends :)

I had my preliminary interview with Apple last Friday for the Chat AHA position, and was wondering if anybody could help coach me a bit on the second interview. I've found many of the comments in this thread, and from Glass Door, very helpful already.

For anybody else who as already gone through the second interview (with recruitment) - would you be able to outline how the interview went for you, and possibly list some specific examples of questions asked? Specifically for the Chat position, if possible.

I also received a call from a recruiter within a couple of hours of submitting my resume. I have years of virtual call center support and ops experience listed. I'm wondering if the quick call back was a good sign?

Any info would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!

Heya Rev,

Grats on the interview! If you can comfortably answer most of the possible questions on the first page of this thread, then you are set for the next two interviews! If you haven't already received a link from your recruiter to the support page on Apple's website, then you should go there and try to work through the troubleshooting questions with that site's help. But above all, showing empathy is key to a successful interview. Having knowledge certainly helps but not showing any empathy before solving the problem will not help your chances during Role play.

Aw man, hope that doesn't mean they passed over mine for a first interview, I submitted an application two weeks ago. But much congrats to you!
