I'm at Georgia State university. So is your BGC complete? I know they did employment verification for my BGC. It has been complete for a whole now.

My BGC is done. It says "information received" now. It was complete on January 30.

I started this application process back in September. I did everything besides not uploading my resume. So I got contacted in October and I uploaded my resume. I received an email in December to do the short survey and upload college transcript, and then I received an email to schedule an interview in january. My interview was jan 13 with a hiring manager, and it went great. Very cool laid back skype interview, not many tech questions just a lot of customer service expected questions. So 2 weeks later I receive an email to do official app and then a day after that hireright background check. I haven't heard anything back since, and this is the third week since I submitted background check (which is completed btw). I emailed them 2 days ago about the status of my app but left out a subject line so I re-emailed them today. The class I'm applying for starts in May but I kind of want to know if I got it sooner rather than later. Is anyone on the same boat as me? Is anyone still waiting for an offer/decline after BG check?:apple:
I'm in the same boat. My time line is very similar to yours. I completed my background check on Jan 29. I emailed my recruiter that its been almost 3 weeks since i heard anything and asked her to tell me what my status was. But i haven't received any responds back. Still waiting and hopping to be hired!

Got my call today after some extra waiting! Some complications along the way, but the recruiter was extremely helpful in getting it all resolved and making sure we were on the same page.

Here's my timeline for anybody that wants to know:

October: Applied
November: Email asking me to submit college transcripts and also sign up for a virtual info session
December: Virtual info session and email asking me to sign up for an interview
January 13th: Interview with a recruiter. Very laid back, fun, relaxed interview. For the college position I think they're looking for those who know how to handle customers (friendly, empathetic, relatable). I never had a tech question (at least that I can remember).
January 27th: I submitted my "official application"
January 30th: I believe I submitted my HireRight this day (on the phone and don't wanna check the email lol)
February: from around the 6-20 I was contacted by a hiring manager I believe to resolve the issue we had, got the call today.

I'm super excited right now! I'm at UF, so if anybody else is here we should definitely find a way to get together before we start!

Yeah no response as of yet :-/ you pretty much summed everything up that I was worried abt (I.e. The college position is only one interview etc)

I'm a lot less nervous now but I was wondering how long it took for you to hear back after the BGC? Sorry if missed it along the way.

It took me about two weeks on the dot I believe. Maybe a little shorter, but I'd say roughly two weeks. Just be patient! I've heard of people waiting longer than that! I think you'll get the job if you submitted the BRC!

Just submitted my BGC today. I hope everything goes through and I hear back soon! and SMUF, I also go to UF! We should definitely meet up or something.

Here is my timeline so far, in case anyone is curious:

February 07 - Applied Online
February 10 - AHA Questionnaire
February 11 - Invited to interview with Hiring Manager
February 12 - Interview
February 18 - 'Complete' Application
February 21 - Background Check

Now waiting for the next e-mail...

Welp that sounds like a reasonable time, it's been 3 weeks and 1 day. I'm more patient because my class isn't supposed to begin until May. My BGC is supposedly complete, I haven't called Hireright but I see it says complete on my status page. I'm just going to continue being patient. Congrats to all that are in!!!

That is so cool, I'm at Georgia State too.

BUT, About a month in to training and 1 test down (I actually have another one TODAY)(I started the 27th of January), I'm really liking it so far. My team is amazing, and my manager is so cool. If you're in the process, stick with it. Yes, I'm in the college program, and I'm in iOS. I applied in Aug., waited till about Nov. to hear anything, and that's when the process started.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

----------

You CAN you use the iMac for personal use. It says you can in the packet I received today. This is so awesome!!! Wait wait wait..and an IPod Touch in here..oh but I have to send that back though.
We get to keep the iPod's for the duration of our employment, and our manager said no to personal use. Only when we're on breaks can we venture off to like Facebook or whatever. But no to just hopping on to use it.

----------

awesome! 21.5 or 27 inch?
what class are you in?
can you post your timeline please
It's 21.5, but It looks HUGE..

I applied Aug. 29, 2013 for the AHA college program. I got an invite to attend a Virtual Information Session on November 1st. They basically just told us about the position, and let us know that people were doing interviews and that they were sending more interviews that week. I got the email for my first interview 4 days later (Nov. 5th). I had my first interview Nov. 7th. It was suppose to be over FaceTime, but the lady called me instead and it was 11 minutes. She let me know that she liked me and was moving me on to the next interview. 2 days later I received the email to setup my interview with a Manager. I just had that interview this Monday (Nov. 11th), and it was 40 minutes long over FaceTime. He said I would hear back within a week. Received offer on Nov. 19th! Background check information received and sent back Nov. 22nd!

You will receive all the discount info from Apple officially!

Read this for a brief overview: http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/6/22/3109799/apple-store-employee-discount-500-mac-250-ipad

Just know you may only use the discount once every 3 years! Obviously to avoid employee reselling products for profit!

Congratulations on the offer and welcome to the team!

Can you use your employee discount right away or do you have to wait? No talk of it yet.
What Sean said was a little wrong.

You can use your discount the first day you start working. You get just about 25% off of everything (10% if you just walk in the store, so I suggest ordering everything you want online, and pick it up in the store). What Sean was talking about was the EPP+ which gives employees and ADDITIONAL (To the 25%) $500 off any Mac and $250 off any iPad, which can be used once every 3 years.

But you do have a limit to have many items you can buy from each section (2 separate amounts for Personal and Friends & Family). There's a chart that explains everything, but for obvious reasons, I can't post it.

We also get AMAZING discounts from 3rd party places, like Speck Products and Mophie. Other great places also!

I start training tomorrow. How much time is spent on camera? How many days or hours etc. And is it just the trainer that can see you or can everyone? I grew out my beard this winter so I look like a mountain man and just want to know when I need to have it trimmed up by. And does the training always last until 7pm EST on the dot or do we ever get released early? And about what time is lunch break? I'm trying to pace myself to eat lunch later since here on the east coast we are used to eating lunch at noon.

Thanks.

I don't know how your training schedule is. But my team is from 7PM-11PM EST Monday-Thursday, and 10AM-7PM EST on Saturday. Monday-Thursday we get like 2 8-15 minute breaks. On Saturday we have our 1 hour lunch at 2 PM and about 3 10-15 minutes breaks. We spend a lot of time on camera. When you turn your camera on everyone can see you. Our trainer usually wants us on camera to answer questions, ask questions, and things like that. It makes it a lot more fun. I've never been let out of training early, if anything, it usually runs over by about ~10 minutes.

Really BitemeappleSign? Only part time for training? It's usually full time for training.

Pretty sure training schedule is based on employment type, full time employee will get a full time training schedule. Also he's in the college program which means they are working around class schedules.

So yes, really.

Received the official offer call this morning. It took 7 business days from the day I submitted my background check until I received the call from my recruiter. I only had one hiccup with hireright and had to submit my W2 for proof of dates. I completely expected the company to not comply though since they were such a pain in the ass to work for and had my W2 ready. My start date is March 31st. If any of you Maps hold outs are out there, show initiative and jump ship. Once employed you can always move to the department. Just my thoughts though!
