Hey guys I applied recently for a graveyard chat position as an AHA. I have a decade in customer service experience, a very strong resume and cover letter and I am pursuing a degree in MIS. I hope that I will get a cell in the future, keeping fingers crossed.

I have couple of questions. If you are a chat AHA does that mean you only communicate through chat and chat only? No phone?

Second how much does location matter? I plan on moving to Europe in the near future, I could easily do my job from Europe but I'm wondering if they would allow that.

Thanks for any advice and input guys. Hopefully I get a chance to work with Apple.

1) i believe you would communicate with managers and colleagues with both phone and chat, but only answer customers queries via chat. unless you are required to be back-up for phones when it is extra busy, maybe

2)i don't think you'd be able to keep the job if you were to move to europe, unless they perhaps have that job in whatever country you're going to..and even then, it would probably be a position requiring the language of the country you're moving to

So I applied for a part time AHA Pro position, and I think Apple tried to call me today (it showed up as 000000000 on my phone, which Google Fu came up with a few possibilities - Apple was one.) while I was in a briefing.

If they do the two calls and can't get a hold of me, do they try e-mail?

I wasn't able to answer when Apple called me either but the recruiter left me her number so I called her immediately and she set up an interview via Skype.

----------

I checked HireRight and my background check is completed, I'm a boring non criminal :D. About how long will it be before I hear from Apple as far as what next steps are? I am very excited about working for Apple!

people have said it can take anywhere from a day to a few weeks, just depends on your recruiter
when is your class supposed to begin?

March 31 although I have no idea what program they want to put me in, haha.

Wooo shout out to the March 31 class. I got the complete email from hire right last night. Now. The waiting game ~jeopardy music.

Any one know how fast the turn around for an offer call is?

I didn't get an e-mail from HireRight saying complete. I checked status on their site and noticed it said completed. And yes, the waiting game is afoot! :)

HireRight

I was honestly expecting a nightmare given some of the horror stories I have read about the HireRight BGC. I guess I was lucky that nothing was amiss because they didn't ask me for anything past the initial form to fill out in the link I was sent. It only took them 5 total days (3 business days) to verify my employment and to conduct the check of my background.

I'm really sorry to hear that, man. Did the report say verified or was there some other message? Under Employment on the report mine said:

Complete - Data Verified

Sorry to hear that man. Request a copy of your background check from hireright. Maybe you can contest the discrepancies, if there are any. They are slow though. I requested it the day it completed and I've received my offer and new hire paperwork, but hireright still hasn't gotten me the background check.

Something must have changed because I didn't have to request a copy. Next to Completed there is a View Report link. I can't remember if I checked a box to allow that or not.

College AHA

Anyone hired with the college program receive an official start date? I completed my interview and the "official" application and was invited to a virtual info session. I am wondering if I should expect to receive the BGC request after that.

Trying to figure out start date for the college program summer training.

Thanks in advance!
