I would contact your recruiter, as well as hireright. They should have asked you for your pay stub/w-2/1099 if they could not find the info

Nice find, tryingagain. I'm going to guess that HireRight is required to status a report as pending when they can't verify an employment, and Apple's HR will review it. Someone back at least 20-30 pages ago said a similar thing happened for a freelance employer and Apple HR asked the person to send them the documentation, which they did and everything worked out fine.
Yeah if Apple contacts me i can dig up old w2's and hopefully that will be what they need. probably wont hear form them til next week though.

Are you starting in July as well?

Hi everyone,

I applied online on Tuesday and got a call Wednesday from a recruiter for the short phone screen. On Monday I have Skype interview #1.

I have questions about the HireRight thing so that I have all the documents I need ready, should I get through the rest of the interview process and have an offer. Can anyone tell me exactly what they will ask for? Is 1 W-2 from each employer sufficient or will they want one for every tax year I was at that employer? I have an employer from back in 2005-2008 on my resume. Will they want a W-2 from that far back? I don't think I have one and don't even know how to go about getting one because it was so long ago. But if I will need one, I'll make a phone call on Monday to get the ball rolling, seeing as it looks like all the interview rounds take several weeks to get through.

Also at my current employer, I started as a contractor and then got hired on as an employee. So on my resume and on my job application it says (fake dates here, just an example: June 2013-present) but in reality I was a contractor June 2013-September 2013 and then actually employed September 2013-present. Are the HireRight forms pre-populated with your resume info, or do we fill that in ourselves? I'd rather be able to put September 2013-present down to avoid issues if I can. I just went through all my papers and I can't find the 1099 from being a contractor but I have my W-2. I'm sure I could ask my employer for a duplicate copy of the 1099 but I'd rather not if possible. Or would it knock me out of the running if they call to verify with June 2013 as a start date but the check comes back as September 2013 for my start date?

Edit: also, my current W-2 says the name of our payroll company on it rather than my actual company. So there's that. It makes me very nervous that I won't pass a background check due to these nuances. Is there an area that we can write notes for HireRight to review and consider?

I really need this job, it would be a lateral move but a big increase in pay/benefits over my current role because it's Apple direct hire. So I want be sure all my HireRight stuff is completely perfect and ready to go if I make it through all the interview rounds. It sounds like HireRight is tougher to pass than the interview process, based on this forum!

Thank you!

Hey congrats on getting to the Skype interview! The hireright only goes back 5 years, so you will only have to account for your employers between June 2011 and Present. When the Hireright form gets to you, that's your chance to make sure you adjust the info to make it as exact as possible so that it checks out on their end. That includes making sure your official job title, company name, salary, and dates are accurate. I would get the 1099 duplicate and make sure you have all the docs ready since 2011, so if Hireright asks for them you have them ready to go.

Thanks! Right after I posted this I emailed HR at my company to ask for a duplicate 1099. I thankfully have a good reason (other than job hunting) to ask for one.

Now, when it comes to W-2's, if I worked somewhere for multiple years, will they want all tax years of W-2's from that employer that I was working there, or just one of them?

They would want all the W-2's or your first and last paystub.

OK thanks - I will call one of my employers on Monday and ask for one of my missing years.

Very helpful! I'm glad I found this thread because at least I have 2-3 weeks before I know if I have a contingent offer, which gives enough time for documentation to come in the mail if needed.

Edit: I will also call all past employers and ask them to give me EXACT annual salaries, as they would state to a future employer if asked. That should cover me.

Got the call after bgc completed and I start chat team on July 13!! So excited!! How long does it take to get the welcome email and initial paperwork? Recruiter said look out for a paperwork conference but haven't gotten an email yet. Ah the waiting...

Hey how long after your BGC did you receive a call?
