My current employer is awesome and emailed me my 1099 within like 30 minutes of requesting it tonight. I have to wait til Monday on the others.

I have another what if question though:

On my resume/application, I have one employer where I worked for 3 1/2 years. I was then lured away to another job for a year and a half.

So my resume reads something like (fake dates):

Employer B: December 2009-June 2011
Employer A: June 2006-December 2009

But then what I didn't put on my resume was that I went back to Employer A, from like July 2011-December 2011. Because it looks job hoppy and stuff. I didn't think it would matter, and in speaking to a career advisor from my college, they advised me to leave it off. as I have plenty of gainful employment anyway.

But this will matter to HireRight, right? because they'll call Employer A who will reveal the second stint of employment? So on my HireRight forms I'll need to put this down, correct? Should I (or am I able to) go into my application and edit the second employment at Employer A in?

OK, so your resume actually doesn't matter to HireRight. The BGC WILL be preloaded with that information BUT you can edit it to make sure that when HireRight does their part there are no discrepancies. For EX: i went to 2 colleges but my resume only has the better one listed. And i worked for one company for 5 years and held several job roles but I only put the one pertinent to Apple on my resume. But when I got my BGC I added the other school, and adjusted my job title to the last one that would be in the "system". Also, I went on theworknumber.com and looked at my employment data summary. (anyone can do this and it goes back 7 years) It gives you your original hire dates and end dates, ending salary, AND last position held. That way your work history can be accurate and HireRight won't even need any documentation :).

But the bgc itself is very simple. Aside from employment, you verify educational institutions and whether or not you received a degree from said institutions, and verify your current address/ssn/bday (regular stuff). They use that to look up addresses from the past 7 years and any county you had an address in they check court records for. I submitted mine on Wednesday evening and as of this evening the only thing they are waiting on is to hear from my current county, and one I lived in 7 years ago. Very quick.

I still have never heard from Apple despite applying to all current listings. It has made me give up hope, but I also stated to them that I wouldn't be able to start until August or so and it would make sense for them to not waste time interviewing me until they had all the most recent positions filled. It is frustrating though. I've heard from all of the companies that Apple goes through but not direct... yet. I need to be patient but still.

OK - one more question. Do I need to tell HireRight ALL jobs I've held in the last 5 years, in addition to what's on my resume? For example, I moonlighted at a couple different restaurants. Really irrelevant stuff. Or will it come up as I'm lying if I leave that non important stuff off?

I think a good rule of thumb is if you can't prove it, don't list it. But I've seen different things. I would go ahead and pull up your employment data report on theworknumber.com (this is the same thing government/credit/mortgage/ and a lot of employers look at) that way you can see what's on there and be prepared to list those and prove them. But I could be wrong. I've only worked at 3 places in 7 years so I didn't have a really long list. I know I saw this same question asked on here somewhere! good luck!!!!

I went there to try to view mine, but it's asking me for a login and password. I don't have one and it seems like you have to get one from your employer. Is that true, or am I looking in the wrong spot to try to get a copy of it?

If you have ever had a job that used EPayroll (even an old one) you can login using that info. If not, on the main page go to "I'm an employee > "need to access your data report " LEARN HOW> Follow step 2 or 3. Won't be instant like logging in, but you will still have the info by the time you need it!

I had no idea that I had been charged. My attorney took care of everything for me regarding any tickets from the accident...I didn't have to go to court. After the accident, he called me and told me that everything was fine...and it was until now! My bgc completed on 6/15 and it hasn't been a week yet. But, this situation has me super worried. I almost want to call my recruiter about it.

Edited to say: My status within the bgc report says Meets Company Standards, if that means anything. Were your three references checked during the background check?
To be honest I don't know if any references were called. But congratulations you got it. You meet standards your in. No more worries awesome

Im currently employeed by amazon.com and i work from home. The pay isnt near as good as apple. The benefits, restricted stock and quartly bonuses are nice. Could try there? They hired me after being on unemployment due to outsourcing. I was unemployed for around 18 months when i started there.
How is it is it possible to do both? Where to apply

Hello everyone. Quick question, I have made it to the background step of the interviewing process. I have a misdemeanor that shows up from several years ago. Has anyone had a issue with their BGC or know exactly what they do and do not accept?
Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, I have a few questions about the At-Home Advisor AppleCare position, I know schedules are based off business needs, but are days off consecutive? And with the schedule bids every 3 months, are they based off your metrics or how long you've been with the company? I'm awaiting my 2nd interview and I'm just curious because I haven't seen too much about the schedules posted anywhere on here or Glassdoor compared to other jobs, like the current one I have.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

That is what I am waiting for also! I have a pending case I never knew about at all and my check has been completed for a week now and I am waiting patiently (not really) I am expecting the worse to be honest

Okay my adjudication status has been pending for a week now... any insights anyone? I know that I have a pending misdemeanor case in a completely different state that I am taking care of now that I know about it thanks to this background check... It is not theft or anything like that related just a stupid disorderly conduct. I wonder if this will wreck my chances of getting this job

Hi everyone,

I too am wondering about schedules. Here's my thing: I was planning on starting an MBA program part time in the fall and I wanted to attend class in person because that is how I will make contacts and network. I could do the program online through the same school but then I have a work at home job and an online MBA, which makes for...not meeting people. :/ And getting an MBA job will be all about who I know for that first one anyway, so I don't like the idea of doing an MBA 100% online so that I can have Apple on my resume.

Anyone know if they could schedule me "off" the two nights a week I'd have class or is that too much to ask? I really don't want my work AND my school to be online or I might go nuts from the isolation. Especially if you throw in the fact that I'd have to work weekends when the rest of my friends are free to do stuff. I would appreciate any insight!
