Hi everyone. I've been lurking for months now and I am happy to say I'll be in the July class. I hope to see some of you there!! I can't wait! My paperwork package came today so herrrrrre we go! I'm interested to see if there's anyone here who have actually worked for Apple before and can shed some light to us as to what to expect realistically in this role. I'm going to be iTunes chat team. Thanks in advance!

Also, I messaged a few people who I saw previously on this thread who said they worked for them before and I haven't received a response. I've pretty much read every single page of this thread.

The reason you have not heard anything from people who were hired is because Apple is extremely strict about talking about their products and/or work environment. I have been told that part of their official sign-on paperwork includes forms that you not discuss anything Apple related on any forum. They are not trying to be rude or dismissive, it's just part of keeping their job:)

I know this, I've seen the paperwork. There are people on this forum though who have worked for them in the past and aren't held to the NDA anymore.

Does anyone know how important it is to list the exact pay when filling out the employment info for the background check with HireRight? I remember approximately what the hourly rate was but don't remember the cents portion.

you don't even have to list your pay, I didn't. my bgc already passed through with meets company standards, so I'd just leave it off if you can't remember.

Congrats! Are you going to be in the August class? If so, I'll *hopefully* be joining you. Thanks for all the info! I'm reading all I can to prepare for my second interview next Monday.

Thank You!! :) and no problem! Yes I'll be apart of the August class. Good luck on your interview. The best advice I can give is look at the interview questions on glass door and prepare as many situational answers as possible using the S.T.A.R method. Also be super relaxed, and try to be as personable as possible, you'll do fine, no worries. BTW has anyone mentioned any dates in Aug to you thus far?

How did you all find out you were going to be apart of Itunes chat? Had either of you had any prior chat experience? Did you apply for a chat position? I would LOVE to work chat but I don't know what ill be doing, no one has specified yet. I would be stoked if it was chat but I think their interview process is a little different than phone correct?

You can log into your Apple account and see which position you applied for and it should tell you there. Also, I would think they discussed it in your interviews. I would most definitely ask sooner rather than later.

I had applied for chat along with a couple other aha positions and then both of my interviewers told me that would be my position. I have a lot of phone customer service experience but no chat so not sure how I got that position. I do have my degree in English so that maybe had an impact?

I'm starting to feel like I'm never going to get that first call. I put in my first applications over a month ago, and last night I filled out all of the positions for all of the chat positions. I know it's worth the wait, but holy bonkers I'm going insane!

Dont lose hope it comes when you least expect it. Not to discourage you but i didnt get a call until 6 months after initially applying, but they couldnt have picked a better time to call me. The call will come, just keep at it! :)

I think the ex employees who use to post on here probably all moved on. But the few posts they made were very helpful. Just read them over and over lol. I also found some stuff on reddit too. You have to look, but it's out there.

If you were chat, your interview would be chat based.

My bcg check now has the status "meets company standards". Anxiously waiting for the next step. What is the next step, anyway? Haha, I've been so focused on getting this far I forget what happens next. A call or email for paperwork or something?

I'm bumping this in hopes anyone who has been through the interviews sees and has additional advice. I've been reading here and glassdoor.com constantly since I got the call yesterday, but I really really want this job so I don't feel like I can prepare too much.

I posted a link earlier listing all the disqualifiers...I'm not sure about reckless driving but check the link because it's really helpful!

oh! but as far as interviews go, the most important things are to be excited, personable, and empathize! those trump everything else. they value those qualities above being tech savvy or correct answers.

The second interview was with my recruiter. It started with a recap of job requirements, and then a few informal questions
*Tell me about a time your supervisor gave you feedback, and how you handled that situation"." Make SURE to mention negative feedback, as well as positive"
*"What is good customer service to you?" Make sure you stress empathy for their situation, and going beyond the job description to help the customer.
*"How would you assist a customer who is having trouble with their email?" FIRST, show empathy for their situation. Then start troubleshooting.
*"Why do you want to work for Apple?" An easy question for me. I then asked him how HE liked working for Apple, and his career experience with them.

Next, I had one role-playing scenario - "Hi, I just got back from a cruise, and I took a lot of really great pictures. I put my iPhone in my suitcase when I packed, and now that I am home all I have is a black screen". I first congratulated him on having had a great vacation, then started on troubleshooting, starting with "Is your phone charged", and this was where the interview ended, and he told me he was moving me to the next stage of the process, and I would receive an email in the next few days to schedule an interview with a Team Leader. I received the email 2 days later, and scheduled for the the first available interview, which was 1 week from the day of my 2nd interview.

The 3rd interview was almost exactly like the 2nd.

I cannot stress expressing empathy enough. After my 2nd interview was over, my recruiter told me that EMAPTHY is the key component they are looking for. If they say they just returned from their honeymoon, congratulate them. If they are frustrated, tell them you understand how frustrating tech problems can be. The recruiter told me they can teach tech, but there is a specific personality component that a person MUST have to work with Apple's customers, and that is compassion and empathy, and the ability to actively listen. Also, don't jump into high-tech solutions immediately. Start with the basics (is your phone charged? Is your outlet working? Let's try a hard reset" to show lineal problem solving abilities.

Hope this helps, and good luck:)
