My bcg check now has the status "meets company standards". Anxiously waiting for the next step. What is the next step, anyway? Haha, I've been so focused on getting this far I forget what happens next. A call or email for paperwork or something?
Congrats! Still waiting for HireRight to complete my background check:(

The second interview was with my recruiter. It started with a recap of job requirements, and then a few informal questions
*Tell me about a time your supervisor gave you feedback, and how you handled that situation"." Make SURE to mention negative feedback, as well as positive"
*"What is good customer service to you?" Make sure you stress empathy for their situation, and going beyond the job description to help the customer.
*"How would you assist a customer who is having trouble with their email?" FIRST, show empathy for their situation. Then start troubleshooting.
*"Why do you want to work for Apple?" An easy question for me. I then asked him how HE liked working for Apple, and his career experience with them.

Next, I had one role-playing scenario - "Hi, I just got back from a cruise, and I took a lot of really great pictures. I put my iPhone in my suitcase when I packed, and now that I am home all I have is a black screen". I first congratulated him on having had a great vacation, then started on troubleshooting, starting with "Is your phone charged", and this was where the interview ended, and he told me he was moving me to the next stage of the process, and I would receive an email in the next few days to schedule an interview with a Team Leader. I received the email 2 days later, and scheduled for the the first available interview, which was 1 week from the day of my 2nd interview.

The 3rd interview was almost exactly like the 2nd.

I cannot stress expressing empathy enough. After my 2nd interview was over, my recruiter told me that EMAPTHY is the key component they are looking for. If they say they just returned from their honeymoon, congratulate them. If they are frustrated, tell them you understand how frustrating tech problems can be. The recruiter told me they can teach tech, but there is a specific personality component that a person MUST have to work with Apple's customers, and that is compassion and empathy, and the ability to actively listen. Also, don't jump into high-tech solutions immediately. Start with the basics (is your phone charged? Is your outlet working? Let's try a hard reset" to show lineal problem solving abilities.

Hope this helps, and good luck:)

I emailed my recruiter this morning thanking her and asking her that very question. She just called me to give me my official start date and to confirm my address for my paperwork!

Thanks! I don't want to jinx it, but I feel like I'll do well. Do you remember your recruiter's name by any chance? It seems like the only negative reviews were caused by the recruiter/manager conducting the interview.
My recruiter, who conducted my 2nd interview was Jared, and he was great. The Team Lead who conducted my 3rd interview was Rob, and he was also great.

Hello all,
Like most of u, I've been stalking this site and it has been very helpful especially with the agonizing waiting.. So I received the offer contingent on bgc of course yesterday, and I received the email from hire right today.. I am trying to fill out the bgc and I'm wondering if anyone knows how far back I am supposed to go with my work history because I've worked about a million summer jobs between 2003 and now & I'm not sure I can remember them all. Any idea how far back I'm supposed to go?

As odd as it sounds, I'm kind of relieved I haven't heard from Apple. I said in the availability area that I had previously planned things that would make me unable to not miss a day of training. And, from what I'm reading, that is a strong point for them - as it should be. I'll keep the hope alive. Timing is everything, after all. :)

Hey Guys,

Have any of you spoke with a recruiter named Pam? she called from there texas office, but she didnt give me her full name or phone number and when I call the number I missed its just a direct line and not her extension. She wanted to talk to me about the position and that she'd be emailing me but she never sent that email.......

They do according to HireRight (emphasis mine):

"The types of information that may be obtained include, but are not limited to: social security number verifications; address history; credit reports and history; criminal records and history; public court records; driving records; accident history; worker's compensation claims; bankruptcy filings; educational history verifications (e.g., dates of attendance, degrees obtained); employment history verifications (e.g., dates of employment, salary information, reasons for termination, etc.); personal and professional references checks; professional licensing and certification checks; drug/alcohol testing results, and drug/alcohol history in violation of law and/or company policy; and other information bearing on your character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living and credit standing."

those are the kinds of data that they can obtain for a company, but Apple doesn't check your credit for their bgc.

Never, EVER use the phrase "I Understand"...EVER!!! You will be taught other ways to say this, but it's key to NOT use that word. Amongst others. You'll learn. Just remember: Align, Acknowledge, Assure :)
Thanks. I knew to never apologize, but I did not know not to say "I understand"

Haven't been keeping up with the thread lately so I apologize if I'm behind, but have you gone through Core yet? One of the first modules covered in training are the Apple Steps of Servicd, comprised of 'Acknowledge, Align, and Assure'...there's much more to it than that, but in a nutshell it's really just finding other ways to connect with the customer, other than saying I'm sorry, or I understand. This is some of the stuff that really sets Apple customer service apart from any other company. Excellent training, and genuine people!

I don't think many of us have started training yet...some haven't even gotten hired on yet. I know there's a July 13 class & then I start iTunes chat class on the 27th with a few others here. Do you still work aha? Do you have any other insight into the position that you can give us? Like day to day how it is during training and then on the job? thanks for any info! :)
