I'm scheduled for my third interview, but I think that I'm going to run into some issues with my background. Both companies that I have worked for in the past has gone out of business, so I've been freelancing for the last few years. If they are calling employment, how will they be able to check mine? The businesses are no longer in business and I've been making a few dollars here and there.
First, know that Apple only goes back 5 years on employment. Also, maybe you could find out the phone numbers of owners/direct supervisors. Then, there are also the paystub/w-2 options. As far as self-employment, once again, income tax paperwork is valuable. Don't worry, there are many options. If your previous employers were listed with The Work Number (MANY are), then you won't need any of this)

Also, discuss this with your interviewer. See if they have any suggestions. They run across tons of different issues daily, and will probably have even more suggetions

Work at home advisor lol I know we get the iMac but I know someone who got the beats by Dre and an ipad

They mean what area of support you'll be working for within the at home advisor position. If you are only doing CPU support you just get the mac, iOS and ITunes support would more likely get an IPad too because it's easier to follow along with the thing you're troubleshooting with the customer.

I know several people in training now who received the iPod

I just got finished with my 3rd interview. I do not feel as great about it as my 2nd interview. I nailed my second one. I thought I was doing OK, but I did not get that vibe from her when she heard my answers. Did anyone have a so-so feeling about their 3rd interview and still get the offer? I am totally freaking and when she said up to 2 weeks for an answer, I also threw-up. I'll never make it that long. This is for the iOS AHA position. Classes start in August. I am going to chew threw my fingernails and move onto my fingers now.

I was SURE I had blown my 3rd interview, too. My interviewer was really nice, but I couldn't read him at all. He told me I would hear something within 2 to 3 weeks. I told my husband that I might as well start looking for other options, but my recruiter called me 2 days later with an offer contingent on bgc. So, don't give up.

Oh thank you for making me feel a little better. I sure hope that they take all interviews into account. My second one was just awesome. I just did not make my interviewer feel warm and fuzzy, I don't think. I do not even know now. I cannot remember anything I said and I just finished 30 minutes ago. Blek. This is going to be a LONG wait.

My recruiter told me they take interview nerves into account. Also, the 3rd interview is usually done by a Team Lead or Manager, so their style will be a lot different than a recruiter. Don't worry, enjoy your holiday and find things to take your mind off it. In this process, God and Apple will MAKE you learn patience...it's ALL about waiting lol

He asked me questions about iOS support...so I'm assuming it's for that

I see everyone talking about support chat positions, but does anyone have info on the Apple Store sales chat position? I just had my 2nd interview over webcam. Is this a more desired position with apple? The base pay is really, really good. I'm curious if this schedule works a little different because of the sales portion, what equipment I would receive, types of sales bonuses, and if anyone else is in the interview process for this position too. I'm in nor cal. Best of luck to everyone in the process.

Finally, my kindred!! I finished my second interview for the sales position last Friday, still waiting to hear back(I only had two, guess they didn't need to do the initial 10 minute phone interview because I'd already done that). I think it went well. I originally applied for the technical support position but was rejected the next business day after my third interview for that. But about a week later, I got an email asking if I wanted to try for the sales position, so I've had about five interviews with Apple in the last 2 months. My last interview went well so I feel hopeful for the sales one.

The thing to do with sales roleplays is to gain insight of the needs of the customer (empathy isn't really necessary for this role) and what the customer wants to do with the product, who is your customer (student, photographer, businessperson, etc)
My customer was a parent who wanted to buy a customer for a son because he was going to college. So I asked what major the son was studying (important!), what kind of things he does for fun (gaming, making videos, etc), and if he was living at home or on campus. It's important to gain insight of who you're selling to.

Lastly be prepared for rejections. My customer in the scenario was concerned about cost because I suggested a MacBook Pro, so I reminded him of the value the laptop and how it was a good fit for the son's needs and I suggested a ipad 3 and said if I added some Beats headphones with the tablet (the son liked music), it would still.be cheaper than the laptop. Shoot high but have a back up of good value in case you get shot down

I have spent all week on this forum, glassdoor.com and apple.com preparing for my interview on Monday but I don't feel like I've learned much about Apple products. I've seen very few people talk about Apple specific questions they were asked in the second or third interview. Can anyone think of some? I've got the empathy part down, but I'm so paranoid I'm going to be asked about some device or software that I know nothing about and blow it.

they didn't really ask any during my interviews, but then again I'm iTunes chat. All they asked me was how often and in what capacity did I use iTunes. it definitely helps if you use Apple products but if not then I would just read up on the basics for whatever platform your position is for. The tech side is not really what they're interviewing on, it's more excitement and enthusiasm for Apple and the customer experience aspect...those are things that can't really be taught in training whereas the tech side can.
