After going thru my 3 "great" interviews I thought i was a shoe in, only to get denied. Then recently i got a random email and interview for the retail store, and i got excited that i could work there then transfer to at-home, only to get rejected after one group interview. Im feeling really down since i know i could do this job so well, especially with having over 15 years working with the public in various roles, including 9 years at Disney World. I just wish they would give any feedback so i know what to work on.

I'm so sorry to read about your experience, @magusmccormick. I can't imagine anything more frustrating than to do your best and "leave it all on the floor" on an interview, only to get a denial letter.

One small comfort: Most interviewers will tell you that while there are processes that are followed during the interview process, so much of it is determined on a gut level. I was reading somewhere that the decision to hire or not is determined within the first few minutes of an interview - and the rest of the time is spent validating the decision.

Know that you probably did nothing "wrong" (although it's certainly a good idea to take a good hard look at your presentation - we can all improve) - it could have been all about your interviewer. You have to remember that you were asked to interview a second time...and there could be more interviews on the horizon at Apple for you. ;)

Email/call your recruiter and let him/her know that you're still interested in being considered for positions at Apple - and you'd be appreciative if s/he'd keep you in mind for other opportunities within the company. It never hurts to ask. :)

Good luck!

Thank you for your advice and kindness, I feel Like I will get this job, I just have to keep trying at it and not give in to rejection.

Yeah, don't give into rejection. You can get plenty of tips on here, or through your recruiter. Keep applying and show you're interested in going above and beyond for the company. That's what they want to see, because just from reading your experience, you seem like a good fit. Just keep trying. I applied once back in January and never heard anything and one day back in June I decided I wanted to show them that I wanted this job and applied to 20-30 different AHA positions. I went through my 3 interviews and was happy with the outcome. Seriously keep trying. Don't give up and I hope you get in.

Is there a difference between the At Home Adviser position and the At Home Adviser - Applecare Chat Team?

How did you guys check your status for background check? I had to ask my recruiter and he said in progress..just didn't know if there was a way to check it.

I know if you log back in, it'll tell you if it's still in progress or completed.

I've never been so excited to start either! I start on the 17th! I haven't seen too many people with the same start date, but congrats on getting the job! The Paperwork call is very helpful and they try to answer everyones questions that they have when filling out paperwork.

Awesome you guys have the dates. Ready for background check email and for it to be done and find out my date. Been really long process so far but I know it's worth it. Congrats!

I just got my official offer call. She said to expect my paperwork in 7-10 days, and my start date is 8/31. Anyone else with that start date?

I start the 12th and my orientation is the 3rd. Anyone else have those dates? I am pretty excited about the job overall it sounds great!

I got an e-mail from HireRight saying my BGC has been completed. But when I checked the report, I found the reported was closed without verifying my last employment which was the only one in last 5 years. It seems like the researcher contacted System Analyst and couldn't get proof of my employment and salary which I left on 2012. I contacted HireRight and requested to try to contact HR, not System Analyst! Has anyone got official offer without being verified employment? TIA
