Still hoping for the chat position over here. Getting extremely antsy.

----------

Also, does anyone know if location matters? For example, if I apply for a position in Florida and then move to New York before the training course begins, will that matter?

Relocations have to be approved so make sure you keep Apple in the loop

My 2nd interview is on Tuesday and I am so nervous. I wish I didn't put off calling Apple back for a month. LOL. The recruiter called me the same day I applied for a Pro position. But since I already landed a job I didn't call back. I hated my new job and decided to email my recruiter a month later and ask if it was too late. He called me within minutes of me sending the email.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking lately and I applied a few weeks ago. I got the "we are interested but we need more information" email and was curious if this is a good sign and if so, how long it takes to hear back. Thanks!

I never got that email. Do they send it out when you don't fill out enough information? I filled out everything, attached a resume and a cover letter and I got a call a couple hours after I applied.

Just be yourself. It will be similar to the first interview.

I think so. I filled out the resume they had on their website but I guess I needed to attach one as well.

From what I've read through previous posts, you definitely need to have a great resume and a popping cover letter. It seems those who recieved that e-mail had not attached either a resume, cover letter, or both.

Gotcha. I updated everything a few days ago. Just waiting now.

My cover letter is pretty awesome, and I feel so proud of it. It was my first time actually using one. I am not sure if I got a call so fast because of my cover letter, or the way I applied. On Feb 25th I applied for a position under my location. Then the next day I applied under a specific location that Military Career Spouses Network uses. Either way, I got my first call on the 26th of Feb and I didnt return the call until a month later.

Questions

Hello, was hoping to get some help with a few questions that I have...

I already completed my first interview, but the recruiter mentioned that the hours are competitive and I would bid on them... I am not familiar with bidding for hours, how does that process work? What does that mean?

My first interview went well. It seemed like the recruiter really like me and was impressed with my answers. I have my second interview on FaceTime this coming week. I'm really nervous and excited... If you have any pointers as to what questions they will ask and what should/can I do to prepare? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Toxic!

Basically, a shift bid works off of seniority and metrics. There's, say, 5 different shifts available with varying days off. The most senior agents with best metrics will usually get first pick, and tend to pick the best schedules. Newbies in general at most jobs seem to get stuck with either mediocre or downright undesirable shifts, but only for a while until the next shift bid. I know at my current job (Dish) you could swap shifts with another newbie while still in training if you both were okay with it.

As for the questions asked, just some general tech support stuff (doesn't have to be Apple based, use general tech knowledge here) and a roleplay call. Don't worry about knowing the answers; the same here holds true for the third interview. They are more concerned in how well you take care of the customer, so even if you don't know what you are answering is correct, say it with confidence and say it in a pleasurable tone. Basically, you can BS your way through the call but if you do it well, they don't care! They can teach the tech stuff; they can't teach good customer service skills. They are more worried if you have those, than tech knowledge. Good luck!!!

Stat, just make sure you know how to interact with people well. You don't need a ton of tech know how- just know what RAM is, what an OS is.... basic basic techno jargon you might hear if you were to call in for support. They are far more interested in seeing if you can keep a confident, pleasant tone throughout the call and handle the roleplay situation (fairly short and sweet) well. Good luck!!

Just got an email stating I wasn't selected after being told to expect a packet in the mail...

Anybody else have an issue like this? I'm hoping it's a mistake but the email was pretty formal

Thanks for reading

Wow, that is ridiculous. I really hope it is a misunderstanding. I don't see why they would put you through the BGC and then tell you to expect a packet just to have them back out.

I found this interesting. I hope it was a mistake. Let us know when you find out, please! I felt a bit like they made a mistake with my interview too, but maybe it was just me.

I don't want to say exactly "when" for privacy reasons, but, I had my second interview recently. I almost thought they had made a mistake and were interviewing me for another job other then AHA. I had been reading on here for three months. I studied basic interview questions as others have said they were asked. I got none of those questions that I was prepared for. NONE. The questions were very technical and I felt I stumbled over them. I have 15 years Customer Service experience, but without a doubt this was the hardest interview I have ever had. Did anyone else feel that way? I also have four different Apple products, IPhone, IPad, IPod and IMac. So I have a basic knowledge of using them all.
The interviewer was very nice, but showed very little body language feedback. It was hard for me to read the interviewer, very hard

My three interviews were the same. Almost no body language and very little small talk. But apparently I did ok. Sent in my BGC today and that poses no problem so I expect to finish up fine and start on April 28th

Please do! FYI little time was spent on Customer Service, mostly tech.

Thanks for the heads up. I have some tech experience working on their iOS devices because I worked for some of the nations biggest cellphone carriers in their tech support department. My regular customers would even bring in their iPads and iPods for repair. Most of my background has been customer service so I hope I don't get thrown off.

My background is similar I too worked for a Nationwide well known carrier. I didn't work on IOS devices though, so that should help you greatly.
