I honestly wouldn't worry just saying its not a done deal until you get the call. Yes sjbuckeyes got the offer after getting denied initially. There was someone towards the beginning that got denied and said had a clean background.

Gotcha. Thanks man. It's nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I really want this position. I had a good review from all 3 interviewers so I am being confident with the job... The only thing that has been second guessing is this stupid past employment check. I have no record of any kind and to not get a job based on freelance work would really leave Apple without a great Customer Service rep! lol

Yeah HireRight was unable to verify my most recent "self employment". They returned my info to Apple as all OK/verified except for that. They want ridiculous things like tax statements from a PAID preparer, so if you do your own taxes they will not accept them. I had nothing to give them on their list. This was almost 2 weeks ago now. Nothing from Apple yet... but no rejection letters either. I still am hoping but am starting to give up. :(

thanks for your reply

Nope. The process is the questionnaire then a call from the recruiter, then FaceTime with another recruiter, then a face time with the hiring manager if you move on. The employment application comes between the two FaceTime interviews. If they like you AFTER the 2nd FaceTime interview then you get the background check email or you get the thanks for playing email. So your process is on schedule :)

thank you for letting me know.
I feel that apple is in a hurry to fill the position I am currently applying for. Although I am not sure if this is good or bad. I hope for the best

Hello, I'm new to the forum, but have been following is thread for a while.
I am currently in the process of waiting for my background check to clear. I have a tentative start date of 11/26.

My question is, what are the odds of getting turned down because of the background check? I have no criminal history, just traffic tickets. I'm wondering if this will affect my chances of getting an offer.

Thanks in advance!

I saw most of people gets an email after BC in a week or so. But some took like btween 2-3 weeks if I remember correctly. lets not loose our hope.. we can always email then to ask the status right? I was told to email them with "any questions" I have.

Are all of you guys supposed to start on 11/26? I have a feeling it might be like it was for that class back in the summer... Everyone was posting about how they didn't receive a call yet blah blah... Then all of the sudden there were 25 posts about YAY WE GOT THE CALL... I would safely assume they do all of them in waves.

hi, I was told my start date would be on 11.26 as well. We should be in the same class? if I pass...
and to answer your q, I think it depends on what BC they are doing. If its only a criminal record then no, but if they are checking for driving records then yes, but I heard they mostly care for the unpaid tickets..

Ok awesome! Well hopefully my heavy foot won't cost me a job! We should be in the same class. Do they do it by region? I'm in SC.

BTW, I had my FaceTime interview with the hiring manager today, then about an hour later received the HireRight info email. Now it's the waiting game I suppose.

NO idea if we will be in the same class or anything. I am in the Albany, NY area. I have been told I was applying for the 11/26 training class.

I'm 99% positive they check employment and criminal history for everyone. I feel that only the criminal background is what really matters because they are risking their iMac in your possession.

Yea no problem... Mine, was a lot of customer service skills and how to take calls at Apple. How they support customers. It was very comfortable as they all have been. Your best bet is to prepare just like you did for the second interview.

duration

I know I should just ask my recruiter, but does anyone know the duration of this job? is it like 1 yr contract? I am dealing directly with apple and not going through any vendors

It's permanent .

The only thing is of course passing the training tests, and making it past 90 days.

You can move up after 1 yr or unless the time requirement is waived.

----------

My process was this

1. Applied
2. Got questionnaire to fill out
3. Next day I got a call from HR and she set me up with a 30 minute interview with a recruiter.
4. recruiter moved me forward to another interview with a hiring manager
5. Received my official application through email
6. Interviewed with hiring manager, 1 hour later I received my background check.

--- Currently at this part of the phase. Though Hire Right is having trouble verifying freelance work I've done in the past. I am thinking positively about this because I haven't heard of anyone not getting the job after they received the BGC.

There is another person on this forum who got it and was freelance as well.

I'll second what kyur4end said. I asked my hiring manager for constructive criticism at the end of my interview, partly bc I wanted to know, and partly bc the interview was a bit shorter than scheduled and I wanted to make sure I didn't totally screw up.

He told me there are certain things that they look for in your answers. I wanna say he said 5 things, but I don't think I remember all of them. Oops. I'll list what I remember.

During your "role play":
1.Express empathy and concern for the customer
2.Reiterate the problem
3.Verbally walk the customer through what they can expect from you ( "I'm going to do...... If we can't get it resolved then.......")
4.ask the customer simple questions first. Keep it basic.
5. Ask probing questions to see what the customer has/hasn't done so you'll know where to go with the troubleshooting.

And as always, super good attitude seems to be key in these interviews.

Sorry this is long, hope it helps!

90 days is standard for most jobs.
That's when you will get your mega discount $500 off certain items.

As for the tests, you have to pass a test each week to continue in training.

I have been told that there are high work at home positions that we can move to.

Does this mean I am out?

Thank you for pursuing a career opportunity with Apple. I want to personally thank you for investing the time to speak with us. At this time, however, we have chosen to move forward with other candidates

So I guess this means I am out. I went through 3 interviews even the hiring manager. Now I get this. Also this was sent by my second interview person.

Did they send you a background check login with Hire Right?

In my email box there is nothing from hire right. Right now if this is true this is very, very disappointing to me.

From what has been told by most of the people in the forum. If they are interested further they send a background check login through email to you after your second or third interview.

Well I guess this is it? Wonder If I just keep calling and going through interviews they will hire me. Or tell me why I didn't get the job. Should I call and ask why or what I can do to improve. Right now I am devastated.

could just be many people applied for the area

I think there is no such reason especially when you went through with the interview process with your hiring manager. but could be that many people applied for the same division and from the same area... I dont know how many people gets recruited from one area thats available for AHA but cant imagine too many.
