I received phone call from recruiter and it was good news!
I will be starting the class from 11/26!
Now I feel like huuuge weight has lifted off from my chest;)
It was funny when my recruiter said "whoot whoot!" before I said:D

Now I am waiting for official email from them.
I am on my way to set up land-line phone and setting up office environment:)

Yes, I agree, no news is good news! because according to previous posts, as long as you do not receive rejection email, you still have hope to get hired.

Congratulations!

----------

I got my call yesterday. Same start date and full time! Any idea if its CPU or iOS?

Congratulations! We're part of the cpu crew.

Question about contacting Hire Right...

It really hasn't been enough time for me to contact them (just submitted info two days ago) but I was wondering, at what point do people contact them? ... One of my jobs was where I owned my own brick & mortar store, and I sort of thought I'd get a request for the taxes/tax ID, DBA from it. However my current job used HireRight, so they may still have all of that from me, I wonder.

My experience was 20 days from the time I submitted my info to HireRight. I also was self-employed for two of my three jobs listed on the BGC, but they never asked for anything there. However they did ask (same day I submitted paperwork) for paystubs from my current job, to confirm salary & time I've worked there. HireRight did my BGC for my current job also, which may explain why they didn't ask about the self-employment stuff. They acknowledged receipt of the pay stubs the same day I emailed them in.

I never attempted to contact HireRight, figured if they needed anything else they'd ask. I did send a couple of emails to contacts at Apple, with no responses. My offer call came 20 days later.

Question about contacting Hire Right...

It really hasn't been enough time for me to contact them (just submitted info two days ago) but I was wondering, at what point do people contact them? When you do, is it automated information, or a live person thing? I am nosy as heck as to where I am in the process, but I sure don't want to tick them off or anything.

One of my jobs was where I owned my own brick & mortar store, and I sort of thought I'd get a request for the taxes/tax ID, DBA from it. However my current job used HireRight, so they may still have all of that from me, I wonder.

Anyway, any tips/advice on contacting them, if/when it's appropriate, is appreciated. :)

I honestly would wait about one week. They are very friendly when you call, and helpful on where your check stands at the moment. I called them at least 3 times. You could ask specifically what the holdup is. Hopefully you won't even have to call :) from what i've read, most checks are fine, just some take a little longer than others. Mine took about 2 weeks (grueling) because of some freelance work i did (trouble verifying hire dates and such). Even though mine did not match theirs and had a "discrepancy", i still got hired. My advice is to be as patient as you can, it can be a long and drawn out process! Good luck!

It took me a month exactly from the time I submitted my info to HireRight to get the call from Apple. Until you get a call or a thanks for trying e-mail, don't give up!

Thanks, Trevorman! I just sent in my HireRight on Wednesday, so I may have a long haul ahead of me. My proposed start date is one month from today. :)

I am not the most patient person.

I've done IT consulting and have lost contact and detailed information about some clients because it was so long ago.

Might this cause an issue with the BGC? Starting to think I should have just given them my general resume, as my employment record is much easier to verify because I list only business employers.

Do they ask about your employment record for the BGC or do they base it off what you put on the resume?

I submitted for my BGC last Monday, then received an email Wednesday about verifying freelance work. I sent what I could the next day, Thursday, and informed them that some of the dates I wouldn't be able to verify. I decided to call HireRight the following Monday. I used the number in the email they sent me about needing docs. This directed me to an automated line that told me I wasn't allowed access to the status of my BGC. I then called their main line, talked to a human, and was told the BGC was completed the previous Friday. I received my offer call later that evening.

That was just last week, so it seems they're currently moving pretty quick. I'd say wait 4 business days to call.

The BGC submission page begins with a web page prefilled with your previous employment info that you entered on the official Apple app. I believe you can edit the info if you wish. This alone is what HireRight confirms regarding previous employment. Hope this helps!

And from earlier post I would omit any type of work that isn't easily verified...

Based on what people commented and Apple website:http://www.apple.com/jobs/us/advisor_pro_faq.html, Apple provide you with imac and phone. Is it true? If so, it is amazing, since I was worrying about buying phone:)

I received an email from HireRight today, asking to verify my brick & mortar business I owned. (I feel like that store will never quit haunting me, and it's been closed a year.) I then scanned over taxes filed by a CPA, my state tax license, my DBA, my city taxes, and I believe one of the cat's rear ends. (papers strewn everywhere = cat laying around on stuff)

I then called them, and talked to someone who "said" those would be fine. I then inquired about another job on my application, where I was an independent contractor (as I figured, why not be proactive in case they need those 1099s?)
They told me to go ahead and scan those too, just in case. I felt better about that, like maybe that would speed it up a day or two.

Hopefully I am now on the way to something or other.

ETA: already received emails back that what I sent covers the requirements for my former store.

This might seem silly ... but I decided to just start all over again.

Created a new account, and created a new resume. New resume still lists my IT skills and experience but also fully lists my "brick and mortar" work history (sales/customer service experience).

Was able to get it on 2 pages so I figured this might be a more proper execution on my part.

That is correct. They also will pay you a monthly stipend to offset your phone line & Internet costs, and the training is at full pay.

The company I'm with now, I provide the computer - I had to buy a headset phone to use on the job, plus a USB headset for training - training time was at state minimum wage - and the wired Internet & phone costs are on me. Not to mention a MUCH lower wage than Apple. I have crappy healthcare that I had to wait 30 days to sign up for, unlike Apple's - in which you can enroll on day one.

For work-at-home, the Apple At-Home Advisor program is cream of the crop. When I told my boss I was resigning to work for Apple, he said that pretty much every decent agent in our company has been trying to get on there for months (including him).

----------

I think I seen a post that said it can take 5-7 days to get the offer email

When's your start date? I got my call on Monday and my email on Wednesday - but I start on 11/12 so that was cutting it close for giving 2 weeks' notice to my current employer, they may have sped it up for that reason.
