Question about contacting Hire Right...

It really hasn't been enough time for me to contact them (just submitted info two days ago) but I was wondering, at what point do people contact them? When you do, is it automated information, or a live person thing? I am nosy as heck as to where I am in the process, but I sure don't want to tick them off or anything.

One of my jobs was where I owned my own brick & mortar store, and I sort of thought I'd get a request for the taxes/tax ID, DBA from it. However my current job used HireRight, so they may still have all of that from me, I wonder.

Anyway, any tips/advice on contacting them, if/when it's appropriate, is appreciated. :)

I contacted them 8 days after I submitted my info. I contacted them partly b/c others on my timeframe had started to receive offers. Another factor is that I have this other interview, next week, that I would like to avoid. HireRight said that they were expecting the court info (criminal check) that day, and that was the only hold-up. So, I gave it two days and called again. They still do not have the info from the county courts. I probably won't call, again.

Just got my offer email an hour ago, was shocked it came so late!

I finally got my email offer around 12:00 AM this morning. Replied back already. I'm all set for 11/12 as well.

This whole odyssey started when I applied 9/24. I was supposed to start 11/05. If you haven't gotten a flat out rejection email and you submitted a BG check, I think you are still in the running.

Good luck!

See you then, arklight! Can't wait to get my packet :)

On another note, I'm EXTREMELY nervous about the exams during training.

For the people who have already started... can you let us know what kind of desk we can have?

I have an L shaped desk, and also an approximately 3 feet long desk. They are both less than a year old.... Can you use an L shape? Do you have to send them a picture of your setup?

You Def will thewriteway. :)

I am kinda nervous myself and I am Apple Certified.(pretty intensive, but only one major test) It seems like it is going to be pretty intense since we are training 40 hrs a week for a few weeks. I think the majority of the training will be customer service related and dealing with how to deal with situations that could come up. I'm just speculating though.

I received my email for scheduling my paperwork session about an hour ago. I am going to schedule my phone line Monday.

I scheduled verizon to come out and install a copper/analog line next week. It's only 18 a month! Not bad. Are you getting an analog line or digital?

I am going with Atlantic Broadband and it is supposed to be a hardline. I use AB for my internet connection at the moment. I was looking at a DSL connection but they just don't have the speed compared with cable.

Got the offer and my paperwork session is on Thursday. Do they ship the iMac and phone or do I pick it up from the Apple Store? What kind of iMac will it be and wonder if I can use Vonage. Also what happens if I end up having to move out of state? Will I be still able to have the position since it is a home based position? My start date is 11/12 and am so excited.

They do ship the equipment to your home. From what I've read it's either a 21 or a 27 inch imac. No, you cannot use vonage. The recruiter told me it has to be a hardwired analog line.. some folks say digital phone is ok (like cox or comcast)... but vonage is a big no-no.
I would ask the recruiter or your hiring manager about moving out of state.
Hope this helps!

About copper/analog line

Hello,
How did you find information about analog phone line service of Verizon?
I have been trying to find such info. on their website, but I just cannot find it:(

I, somehow, thought Comcast offer plain old telephone system, so I scheduled installation, but later found out ( I asked via online chat with Comcast agent) that their service is digital:eek:

Digital phone is OK. Analog phone is OK. Internet phone is NOT OK.

- Analog (POTS) service from an old Baby Bell system/AT&T is OK.
- Digital phone such as service provided by a cable company is OK.
- Vonage/Skype and other services which use the Internet to connect are not allowed.

There seems to be a lot of confusion because digital phone uses VoIP which sounds like it is Internet based. It is not. It uses Internet-based protocols but they are confined to the cable company network and behave very differently than a product like Vonage.
