What's been the average time after the BG check is complete before you receive a call? Mine was completed on Thursday, and I received a copy of the report and all is well. Apple has it now, so it's just a waiting game.

Thanks

I received my offer via phone call today at approximately 4:15pm CST... Now awaiting email offer scheduled to arrive within 5 business days...

Update: Received my "Apple wants to know more about you" email tonight and just replied.

So basically it took a week from applying to receive my first response. Hereeeee we go!

Does anyone know if the phone landline has to be a new line or can you use one that is already in place? Haven't let go of my AT&T landline that was put in when we built the house in 2007 since we live in the mountains and cell reception is not always reliable in this area. Don't want to have to pay for a 2nd line if I don't have to :)

If the phone has a lot of traffic you will run the risk of calls being rolled over. This will be a problem if it happens a lot. But if you change your number you run the risk of getting one where someone had problems. ugh, what to do? :(

Just wanted to say you guys are awesome. Thank you all for your support. I am like others who are confused about the paperwork. My paperwork/orientation is in 3 days and I have not received my paperwork yet. Does it come by mail which I would assume or is it by email and we print it out? Do I need to fill it out before or wait till the call and then go to the Apple Store?

You will probably get it tomorrow. You will also get email copies on the day of....just in case

Congratulations! I know that is exciting! :) With all of your experience, they'll be lucky to have you.

Today HireRight requested one other piece of info about a job I worked as an independent contractor. I sent it in, then called them. They said all they are waiting on now is the criminal background check back from my county courthouse. I live in the middle of nowhere, and hope my Mayberry-esque local government gets that cranked out soon.

Phone and Official Offer Email

Hello,

Thank you for everyone who took time and posted reply regarding getting reliable phone line:)
I just think it is odd that opinion varies by recruiter. I am waiting response from my recruiter about his for now.

By the way, is there any information about this issue in shiny folder that Apple send to you?

Meanwhile, I am still waiting for official email offer after receiving from phone offer on 26th. I am checking spam mail box everyday...I hope email subject line says "Apple" or something so I cannot miss it:apple:

My packet arrived today as well. The I-9 stuff is pretty standard, I started working at-home for a different company about a year ago - very simple process, HireRight did the check, the paperwork was FedEx'd to me, I took it to a notary along with my passport (you can use DL + SS card if you don't have a passport) for signatures, then send it on back. Funny part last year is the notary public is the owner of our local UPS Store, but I had to FedEx the paperwork :) so I had to take it from there to the gas station that serves as a FedEx pickup spot in our town.

The work-at-home model is terrific for someone like me, who loves the lifestyle of living in a quirky, out-of-the way town of 2,000 people without a lot of local employment opportunities. I am literally counting the days until training starts - T Minus 14 and counting!

As someone else said you'll probably have it tomorrow - but it will come FedEx, not mail, so look on the doorstep for an envelope instead of in the mailbox.

Don't stress about it too much - there's plenty of time, remember you won't be taking live calls until after 4+ weeks of training. I fully expect my existing Cox Digital Voice line to be acceptable but if for any strange reason once we get into training they tell me it's not, there is plenty of time to switch to AT&T before I go live.

Hi,
You are right. I am stressing out about it too much:(
Thank you for good advice, it means a lot!
I am very excited about this opportunity too!
I live in Portland, OR but am thinking to move to smaller city in a year, so like you said, the job flexibility is perfect:apple:

Before I even finished reading this, my first thought was, "He must be in Arkansas." :) I'm in Little Rock now, but grew up in a town with a population of less than 400.

I'm impressed - Fedex brought my packet just as scheduled this morning, in the storm and all! Glad I was home today.

You'll probably get that paperwork after 90 days. (when you're eligible) If you don't receive anything, contact the HR department.

I believe insurance kicks in on day one from what my recruiter told me and everything I've read here. I've read people say they sign up on the 2nd day of work but that may have just been when they did it, not when they were first able to.

The only 90 day wait is for the $500 discount off a Mac I think.

It's pretty common for a 90 day waiting period for benefits and I believe I read this on their site as well. Could be wrong though.

You're eligible for benefits from day one. You sign up as early as your second day on the job. I received my medical insurance card the following week after starting. That's how quick things move.

The $500 discount on Macs / $250 in iPads requires a 90 day waiting period.
