I received it today... So about 1 week give or take...How long after the email did you get the paperwork email?
I've been heading mixed things about this. A friend said it was surprisingly easy for him as long as you pay attention and take as much time as you can on the tests. Either way, I'm going to do whatever I can to make a career out of this. I'm giving up a fairly decent job to work with apple. All of you that are in the hiring process, and excited at the possibility of working for Apple, be prepared to drink from the proverbial fire hose of knowledge. There is a lot to learn and not much time to learn it. The training is tough, and you have to work at it, regardless of whether you are new to Macs or an Apple fanboy or girl. Good luck to you all.
I received it today... So about 1 week give or take...
11am CST is equal to 12pm EST, right?
Just making sure
Seems like I was always off by an hour for my interviews even though I was SURE I had converted the time correctly.
We were told during our paperwork session that we have Thanksgiving and Black Friday off with pay.
First post on MacRumors.................I'm starting in Ireland Apple AHA CPU next weeks guys too.
Nothing was mentioned in my paperwork session about this. Wonder if it is the same for part-time (although working full-time during training)?
How many people opens the big box before start day?
Been following this thread since September, when I got to 1st interview (scheduled for Skype but got call instead)...was given the "thanks for playing email'.. I want to keep trying to get into this job. I have since applied for different locations. I am more than 300 miles from the nearest hiring city and wondered if this may be the reason I wasn't hired.(i never asked the recruiter). Anyone hired who lives this far from hiring city? I'm going to be persistent, because I really want this job. Any specific advice from current new hires? I mean other than the general "show your customer service skills..etc". I am educated in general IT, but am unemployed and have no formal experience, but have customer service background (work from home), although haven't worked in a few years. any advice please!
You said it right just be persistent ... U have a leg up because u know what expect ... Other than what you already mentioned it really seems to be all about customer service... What I gathered from my interview is that they dont want you "find" the answer to customers question so much they want you to "handle" the customer and they want to make sure you get the answer but customer service is first and customer needs to be handled first.. Empathy empathy empathy... If u nail that you should be a shoe in!! Good luck
Thanks , .
I understand... The customer service questions was not direct questions at least now for me. For example .. A. Customer calls in and states his computer won't turn on and he work from home blaha ha how would you handle it (customer service first before solution) I'm so sorry your having these issues I will do everything I cant get you squared away blaha ha lay it on thick.. if u get my drift...
On Monday, before the hurricane hit, I called HireRight to check the status of my bgc. They said it was completed on the 25th. After Sandy hit, I was without power for 24 hours. I was lucky we got it back as fast as we did. There are others here still without. While we were driving around charging our phone and trying to find service, I had a voicemail from Apple. I had changed my greeting so that anyone trying to call would know the situation. I called back a couple of times. I was really getting anxious lol.
Long story short, I just received the offer call. 11/26 training class here I come!!
The other day HireRight told me the only thing they were waiting on was the criminal background stuff from my courthouse. They said the courthouse had told them they'd have it in by 10/31. So I called HireRight today, and they said that it was completed and forwarded to Apple as of today, 11/1. I asked them if they (HireRight) sent me anything just saying it was completed, and they said no. Did anyone here receive any email from HireRight saying it was completed? (without paying for a copy, I mean.)
So now begins the wait (again.) Apple would have to contact me by next Friday, 11/9, in order for me to give a two week's notice to my current employer. (my proposed start date is 11/26.)
SO NERVOUS!!!
HireRight will send you and email link to a copy you can print for free. But, you have to request it.
