Hi all, I've been lurking around these
forums for a while now. I applied with apple during the beginning of October. I'm going to be in the 11/26 class. I already received the call offering me the job. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Can't wait to get started!! I do have a question though. Has anyone heard how much we will get paid during training? Is it the same as we were offered? My offer letter didn't say anything about the training pay so I assumed it would be the same but I know most jobs pay you a lower wage during that time.

I know this is probably something I should have asked when I got the call but I was so excited I forgot. Haha.

Looking forward to meeting you all in training!

Woot Woot! to those of you starting training today. Keep us posted on your impressions.

Good Luck this week! to those of you still waiting on bgc, email, or phone call.

Sigh...to those of us just waiting on later classes.

Edited to add: I got my shiny folder today. I just opened the door this morning, and there it was.

Your Team Manager should have called and emailed you with their contact info and everything you need to get started on your first day (including the link to the online class).

This is very worrisome! When do the managers usually email you your login information? Thurs or fri before you start?

Hrrm I am supposed to start today, but never got an email with a link to get into the class. I have emailed and called hiring managers, HR, and various contacts I have made through the process but can't get anyone to reply... Class starts in 5 mins and I am freaking out...

something doesn't sound right here...

So you've completed everything (BC, newhire paperwork, etc) ??
You received an actual offer of employment from apple?

..and then nothing?

Let us know what happened.. I don't think anybody on here would be able to point you in the right direction or give you the link, if that's what you're after..

YAY CatBite777! and welcome Tracycoder! How many are there now in the 11/26 class? (On this forum at least) CityChic and Stukenbroeker too I believe.

My resignation has been tendered. I'm so happy I'm beaming. I don't mind the hardwork that's coming. I really needed to move on from where I was.

My paperwork call is Wednesday afternoon. I just hope the weather doesn't prevent me from getting the I9 verified and sent.

Pinch me....

*PINCH!!!* :D

I am trying to decide whether to give my resignation tomorrow on or Friday. If I give it Friday, I'll still get holiday pay for Thanksgiving, so I may do that.

I should have made my paperwork thing on Wednesday, but I kept thinking that was tomorrow, lol.

It seems they are still sending out offer letters for those in the 11/26 class! I was worried that they would move me to another class, but I got my offer today. Everything went very quickly for me aside from waiting for that offer call! Here's my timeline:

10/17 5:30p -
Applied via Apple website
10/18 11:13a - Apple Questionnaire received (so fast!)
10/18 4:03p - Sent Questionnaire responses
10/18 4:20p - Initial Phone Interview (fast again!)
10:18 4:26p - Scheduled Second Interview
10/19 12:15p - Second Interview
10/19 1:49p - Scheduled Third Interview
10/24 1:30p - Third Interview
10/24 6:53p - HireRight Background Check Invite
10/26 5:58p - Called HireRight and Recieved Copy of Completed Report (Pretty fast for HireRight! I didn't have a good experience with them in the past.)

**Wait time that drove me nuts**

11/5 10:35a - Offer Call Received
11/5 11:21a - Offer Letter Received
11/5 12:45p - Paperwork Session Invite

So, if you're still waiting, don't give up!

Finally got my paperwork in about an hour ago! I guess I'm all set for my Paperwork Session tomorrow. Congrats to all that have made it in recently. And to my 11/26 family, I look forward to learning with you.

To my classmates:
If you would like, you can PM me and I'll give you my email and FaceTime info. Hopefully we can be of help to one another!

Also, does anyone know if an ID is required to sign for the equipment when it is delivered? I know a signature is required, but I will potentially be out of town when it arrives.

Thanks in advance!

I'm so excited to apply for this job and I finally finished my resume and I'm working on my cover letter and think I'm almost done. I'd like to see if it sounds alright. I don't have any job experience so keep that in mind. I really hope I have a chance at getting this job, it would be amazing and I'd be working for my all time favorite company!

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to inquire after the Apple At Home Advisor. I was excited to come across this job because I’ve wanted to work at Apple for a few years now and this job in particular would be perfect for me. I’ve received technical help from Apple employees several times in the past and always appreciated and been impressed by the helpful people there and believe it would be a great company to be a part of.

As a long time Mac user I have a lot of experience with its computers and products, having put Apple’s tools and software to good use on several personal projects through the years. I’ve always been very interested in technology and how it makes so many peoples lives easier. When I used my first eMac I read the entire manual from cover to cover and became the go-to tech support in my family. From there it was easy to pick up anything new on the iMac and MacBooks. I can quickly navigate various menus and perform tasks efficiently while always looking for a faster more productive way to complete a job. When faced with a problem I can’t solve I research it until I can.

I enjoy helping people at different technical levels. I can explain tasks in everyday dialog so they are easily grasped. Being homeschooled I am used to completing my work in a secluded area away from distractions. I am eager to learn new skills and fill up my head with helpful information for Apple customers. I hope you will consider me for this position and I hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Mary Smith

Sounds good to me! Many of us weren't so detailed, so kudos! Good luck!

Yay I finally got my e-mailed offer today, which I immediately accepted!! Within 10 minutes I received the paperwork e-mail. Holy cow that was much quicker than anything else in my process. My paperwork will be delivered on Wednesday and I scheduled my phone session for this Friday. Start date is December 3rd.

/whew

Lots and lots of waiting has not been fun but things are finally moving! :)

Good luck to everyone still in the process!

quick question,

I sent my paperwork via Fedex this afternoon...when do they send the equipment? Does Apple provide a tracking number? I was too busy taking notes I missed some info it seems during the paperwork session.

I was also reading through my paperwork and I was wondering about The Source. What other companies does Apple work with? I would love if AT&T was part of the discount program.

Looking forward to 11/12

Congrats to everyone else...good luck to the people that are still waiting. If you haven't gotten the dreaded email you're still in the running it seems.

You should receive your equipment the Thursday or Friday before your start date, as far as the tracking number goes some people received some while others didn't.
